Hotel Illa d'Or & Club Apts 4* Sup

I first saw this hotel over 20 years ago & have wanted to stay ever since! It seemed to me that my 60th birthday was the right excuse and this lovely hotel did not disappoint! The most wonderful location on the waterfront ( on the Pine Walk if you know it) at the quieter end of town, so about 15 minutes walk along the front to the center. We opted for a sea view with balcony, room and it was very well appointed with all you could wish for. The balcony was generous and the view only slightly hampered by a pine tree in front! The room was probably smaller than expected but lacked nothing. The bathroom was generous and well fitted out. Breakfasts were superb with far more choice than could be fully explored. All the food was really well prepared and presented. We really loved our stay here and it will not be 20 years before we return!

Lovely hotel with amazing staff, especially Alba, Wagner and Eduard who was super helpful helping to plan bike rides around the area, we really enjoyed our time here. Large range of breakfast options, some great cocktails and a nice seating area overlooking the port and only a 10 minute stroll to the main town with a range of restaurants and bars.

Recently had a week at the Illa D’or with family, and overall, it was a superb holiday.

The biggest weakness of the hotel was the bar food. We were starving and tired on arrival and so ordered a chicken burger and a few other items. Sadly this food was very low quality. It seemed likely defrosted/bought in, equivalent to bad UK pub food. This made us never eat at the hotel again, other than breakfast, which we had pre paid for.

There were some nerves going to breakfast the next morning, but this turned out to be excellent, with fresh fruit, baked items, an omelette station, and other hot items including pancakes. Delicious! Only feedback I would have on this was that omelettes were often undercooked (I’m not a major fan of raw mushrooms).

The staff were exceptional, I have to say. Very friendly and attentive. From reception to restaurant to the bag man.

The room was okay. A bit small. Fairly nicely done up. Balcony is nice but not as large as other hotels that are more central. We had a second room in the apartments which was nicely done up but the room was rarely cleaned by mid afternoon, which was slightly disappointing.

But overall I have to say it was a superb experience. For older couples or families in particular I would recommend. If they improve a few final things, the hotel will be even better. (Bar food no 1 priority!!)

We've stayed for four nights at the fantastic Illa d'or hotel and we loved it! The largest and nicest breakfast offer I've ever had, and cosy sitting spaces. Sitting next to the pool in the green garden makes you feel like you are in paradise. Staff is superfriendly and attentive. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel was fabulous. On the waters edge, the views were wonderful. Even at night the lights twinkling from the othe side bay were lovely. The staff were great. Friendly in all areas of staffing. Couldn't fault it. Breakfast was really good with a good variety for all tastes. Bryan and Alma

We love this hotel and would always come back. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is great and the location right on the water is just perfect. Also the closeness to Cap Formentor is special, especially when you are a cyclist.

I can’t say enough about how much we LOVED this place… we had a fantastic stay… we got a room with a sea view balcony and it was fabulous! The spa pool, sauna, steam room are wonderful… I wished the water in the pool was warmer, but no biggy… the pool areas, 2 others, are set in great locations, the one across the street has wonderful plants, sun visits, gazebos available… we went at the end of October so we always had one available…the water was too cold, but again, no biggy, I know it would be super hot in high season! The breakfast at the hotel is fantastic!!! Huge buffet with all kinds of food to chose from… the dinners were really good too! The setting of this hotel is spectacular: you can have drinks, dinner while looking at the Mediterranean Sea… I can’t say enough… the staff was wonderful, we got quite attached to a few, very friendly! Numerous really funky, fun areas to lounge, read books, on the ground floor… just a fabulous place! The walking path is right by the dining outside and a great way to walk in to the busier areas with shopping, beaches. Easy parking on the street, not sure what high season would be like… VERY helpful staff at check in desk!!!!

Hotel Illa D’Or is a beautiful spot; perfect for relaxing or for touring in the area. We stayed in an apartment and it was lovely - lots of space. Both the beach and pool were nice options. The breakfast was fantastic. We did half board and the dinner was not as good as breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
