Sumahan - on the Water

Remarkable experience of super stylish hotel. I was super excited when checked-in in the evening and found myself enjoying the fireplace, walking on the green yard breathing the marine breeze, and having my the time of my life. Next day I met very nice owner of the hotel. It was a very nice friendly talk. Definitely recommended for new unbelievable experience at Bosporus.

We spent our most memorable time while staying at Sumahan on The Water in Istanbul. This hotel offered everything we dreamed of and much more. From friendly front desk staff (namely ALI, of course others were as good) who were supper nice and helpful as well as the restaurant staff. The breakfast was fantastic and of course the scenery is the highlight of this hotel. It is hard to explain the total experience unless you see it yourself. I can't wait to go back for another memorable stay at this hotel.

A beautiful location on the Bosporus, this is really a hidden gem in Istanbul. Located in a quiet part of the city, it is an urban haven, a true 'find' that feels like a homey, yet luxurious retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The wonderful owners made us feel like family and were on hand to help with everything from fabulous restaurant recommendations to even speaking to our crazy Turkish taxi driver. I would absolutely return and recommend to others. My duplex suite felt more like an apartment with a garden area outside just steps from the water, perfect for business travellers or leisure.

Location wise its 50/50, the staff are nice but hardly speak english.

The view is exceptional from rooms and from the restaurant. One of the best hotels I ever stayed in.

It’s the most beautiful place at the Bosporus. The team is awesome and is taking care of you 24/7.
Halil from the reception is also a good guide for everything you would like to visit in the city. He speaks perfect English and a very friendly person.

Stayed there for 4 times, and always want to come back again. The loft suite with its garden is a piece of heaven. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Our flight arrived early morning and they allowed us for an early check in. We also asked for a late check out and they happily helped us. I can say that this is the best hotel in Istanbul.

The Waterfront restaurant here is a great place to spend the most lovely evening. In a quiet and elegant atmosphere, you can enjoy the excellent view of Bosporus along with amazing dishes and service. If you are lucky enough, dolphins may also greet you nearby :)

This is a spectacular hotel. Our favorite getaway in Istanbul. Located on the Asian side - in the charming village of Cengelkoy - Sumahan is an oasis from the wonderful craziness of the city. The hotel has a private boat (The Sumahan 1) which can take you across the Bosporous to European side (it's a terrific 20-25 minute ride). The rooms are immaculately kept, the hotel is elegant and beautifully designed and the restaurant is fantastic. The garden is lovely, directly on the Bosporous and the Adirondack chairs and tables are perfect for counting boats (or dolphins) and watching the water. The hotel hamam (Turkish Bath) is a great retreat and the owners and staff are topnotch; attentive, generous, accommodating. We've been fortunate to stay at Sumahan several times over the past few years and will continue to make this our go-to whenever in Istanbul. Worth every cent (and Lira).
