Residence Inn by Marriott Ocean City

We came for our usual end of the summer get away and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the amenities included in the room. The hotel is very clean and there’s always house keeping in sight for anything you may need…my complaint is although they accept pets they are not pet friendly. So if you’re looking for a dog FRIENDLY place this ain’t for you. They don’t allow dogs anywhere in the hotel or outside pool area. There’s no activity area for kids..the ambiance is less lively than I would prefer. It’s nice place to stay that takes dogs..that’s it. Breakfast is your basic hotel breakfast…no frills bells or whistle. The location is right next to the highway. Make of that that what you will.

Don’t miss the outdoor pool complete with tiki bar and beautiful bay views. They’ll give you a special card even after you’ve checked out to spend the day there.

We stayed on the second floor for 3 days. The room was a nice size. The staff was pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was nice and hot and many available spaces to eat. The bar drinks were also very good. I gave it 3 stars because although the drinks were nice the bartender touches the top of the black straws with her hands. When I seen that twice, I went with the bigger ones. That’s not sanitary. The indoor pool area was cold. Not the pool the area, so when you walk in it’s cold in there. I never got in the pool. There were towels left on the floor and chairs. About time I went back later that night it was more towels and even on the balcony chairs. The biggest issue was the room wasn’t that clean. It was a receipt that wasn’t ours in the fridge. The utensil drawer had water in it. One of the bed spreads had a hole in it. The wall near the table looked like it had blood on it. As if someone killed a bug on the wall. It really grossed me out! This hotel needs an entire new cleaning crew. The rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom. Also to stay on top of cleanliness in other areas in the hotel.
