The Hotel Zags

Very good, good location, close to the university, walking around is good, breakfast is simple. The air conditioner is not very hot and the hot water is a bit lukewarm.

The hotel is located in downtown Portland, making it very convenient to travel to Portland State University, Pioneer Square, shopping, etc. The service staff are all kind, but not efficient? The management is very average. You need to communicate with the front desk every day to clean the room. The room facing the street is noisy. Although the room does not look expensive, there are many other taxes and fees in the state. The final bill increased by more than 300 US dollars.

The room is clean and tidy and the courtyard has a unique leisure style.

This place is awesome. I live 30 minutes away but I stay here for the modern downtown experience and sexy ambiance. I love the rooms, the soft pillows and Sicilian soaps provided in the sleek bathrooms. I always leave feeling refreshed and longing to revisit.

I love this hotel. It is the only place i will stay at when I’m in town. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The game room is so fun. The rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant has a great happy hour. Staff there are super friendly too. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Great hotel with attention to detail when it comes to design and service. Rooms featured some pretty fancy features, toiletries had a great scent, and bed was cozy. It's located in a great part of the city that affords access to all of downtown Portland on foot. I would definitely stay again. Some figures in the bathroom were a bit rusty and aged, desk in the main room looked like it had been through a battle with a handful of deep scours (to the point where I had to take pictures to ensure I wouldn't be charged with damages). The valet was short-staffed, 3 out of the 5 times I needed to pick up my car there was no attendant present, witnessed other guests confused upon arrival to the hotel wondering where attendants were.

This was the second time we chose to stay at this hotel. Although both times we arrived early in the day before noon, the hotel staff was happy to check us in early and secure us a room. Small rooms, but oh so comfortable. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, and the location is fabulous! You can pick up a street car to other neighborhoods within 2 blocks of the hotel, but the walk to Pioneer Square takes only 10 - 15 minutes or so. This has quickly become my favorite place to stay in Portland, and I look forward to returning soon.
