Hampton Inn by Hilton Lloydminster

I liked this hotel. One warning….. We actually booked a king with shower only but meant to book with a tub. I had never stayed in a hotel without a tub, so made an assumption that there would be one. Read the details. Restaurant and liquor store in walking distance. Clean and quiet. Plenty of room to walk around bed in room. Lots of storage. The charger in the lamp didn’t work and there is no bathroom fan even though it looks as though there is a vent for one in the ceiling. It was very easy to change the temperature of the room to your liking. Lots of parking. Didn’t eat breakfast or visit the pool, so no review there. If we were in town, would stay here again.

Wonderful place.. clean rooms, hot breakfast and a pool.. Cant complain much about that.. Seemed as though heat was on low in common areas but was also -50... Only 3 for service as their parking lot plug ins are on a 30min /on/off cycle. Nothing ever gets a chance to really warm up.. We were directed to a full plug but took some persuading... Would definitely stay again though..

After a terrible experience at the Meridian hotel across the parking lot (booked 3 nights with them and didn’t even end up staying for 1) we walked in and were greeted by Brian the manager. He was lovely, compassionate, and so understanding when we explained our situation. I asked to see the room before I payed and he brought me up and gave me a tour. The rooms are very nice and everything is clean and the breakfast is beautiful. I felt safe staying here alone.

Staying here as I write this... I've been working 5 day weeks in Lloyd for about 6 months. About a month ago I decided to start hopping hotels. I didn't want to stay in the same hotel week after week.

I've been in about a half dozen hotels in Lloyd and this stands head and shoulders above them all...so far.

Beautiful well built room. No tiles coming off in the bathroom. No shower so tiny you have to stick your head out. They even have a little night light in the bathroom for when you get up in the middle of the night to pee. Tile in the entryway and carpet in the rest of the suite. That shocked me for some reason. No expense was spared for this place, IMO.

I was amazed at how beautiful, well kept and clean the room was. But I found out that the desk chair was a bit broken. I told the front desk and within 15 minutes they had replaced the chair. That's customer service!

The included breakfast is the best I've had here in Lloyd. Some sort of eggs...denver omelettes, scrambled, etc; Sausage rounds; ham; bacon; French toast; make-your-own Waffles; oatmeal, etc. And of course, juices and a couple of kinds of coffee. Just tons of good stuff for breakfast and they aren't afraid of variety.

The also have a great pool and gym. The pool doesn't have a slide though, in case you have little ones when you visit.

Plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity and even a bad one.

A couple of caveats though.

1) Although you can get housekeeping when you want it they generally will only do it every 5 days. I actually like the fact that they leave me be for the 4 day I'm in the suite. I don't need a daily fussing.

2) It's on the edge of Lloyd on the Alberta side. If you work on the exact opposite end of town, as I do, it's quite a commute. Don't kid yourself, Lloyd may be a small city but it does have a rush hour.

Rate is good for employees of a certain big name company in town. It's probably a better hotel for business travellers and most of the people I see here are just that.

Service was very good, the room was very clean, the only drawback was our bedding had a bleach smell to it. On a positive note, that meant it was very clean, considering the problems covid caused. However, an extra rinse in the cleanings process who probably take care of the smell. The beds were super comfortable. I know that the cable is Shaw business, but a better selection of channels would be welcomed. The night clerk was great in helping out with some items we forgot to bring, (bottle opener in room would be a huge bonus). I recommend to everyone.

I love this hotel and stay here whenever I am in Lloyd. Delicious restaurants nearby and the complimentary breakfast buffet is clean and stocked. The rooms are modern and clean every time. With the digital key and check out I never need to wait at the front desk. Some windows look out to the countryside which is kinda cool.
