Reviews
This level of attention and care is rare, and it speaks volumes about the dedication of the team at Anassa. Even though I was there for just a short time, they treated my small issue with the utmost professionalism. I highly recommend Anassa Hotel not only for its beautiful setting but for the outstanding customer service. Thank you again to the amazing staff!
Pros:
Beautiful view from the room
Plenty of towels available in the spa and around the hotel
Large, comfortable bed
Spacious bathtub 🛁
Lovely green surroundings
They changed the dish's ingredients due to my allergies
A complimentary bento cake for my birthday
A welcome gift of a decorative candle
Complimentary late check-out at 3 p.m. instead of 12 p.m.
Cons:
There were no signs on the road indicating how to access the hotel parking
No signs on the property showing where to find the reception
We weren't informed in advance about the mandatory €400 deposit, which is refunded if you don’t spend anything at the hotel
No prior information that dinner needed to be reserved two days in advance
We pre-purchased dinners expecting a fabulous buffet with steaks, but the Mexican-themed night offered disappointingly cheap dishes 🥲
Long lines at the buffet, and the staff couldn’t manage the number of guests
Drinks, including water, were extra, despite the pre-booked dinner costing €63 per person. I find it unacceptable to charge for soft drinks at such a price.
When booking a second dinner a day in advance, I received confirmation, but then just an hour before dinner, I got a call that started with, "Irina, we regret to inform you that you didn’t reserve dinner two days in advance." Excuse me, but for my money, I expect to be informed of your policies beforehand. Even though I made the booking correctly, you only told me about the change an hour before, instead of earlier in the day. That killed the vibe.
Breakfast had long lines for eggs, and there was a severe lack of vegetables – just cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and occasionally lettuce, which disappeared quickly
You had to rely on a waiter to bring drinks, and if you wanted a refill, it took forever – first to catch the waiter’s attention, and then to wait while they went through their list before bringing your drink
There was no menu for drinks at breakfast, so you had to guess what you could order, which was inconvenient
I noticed several small, unappealing details, like crookedly hung paintings, poorly installed outlets, or broken tiles around the pools (both in the spa and outside)
The room had tile flooring, which made it freezing cold. I think this could easily be addressed in 2024.
There were no disposable toothbrushes in the room
There was dust on the lamp shades in the room
The balcony lacked privacy from neighboring rooms – you could see everything happening in the other rooms
Although there had been a renovation, the room already felt a bit worn out
The bathroom door leaked water – there were no seals to prevent water from getting onto the floor
The air conditioning in the room didn’t have a heat setting, and there wasn’t an extra warm blanket, which made it cold in the evenings at the end of September
The spa only had one small heated pool
The saunas in the spa were gender-segregated
The changing room doors were dangerously heavy and could bruise you if you didn’t hold them carefully – a very unsafe design choice
The mandatory €5 donation to a dog shelter at check-out was shocking, as I wasn’t asked whether I wanted to contribute, it was just added to the bill. Yes, I believe it could be declined, but I was so exhausted that I just wanted to leave. I’m the kind of person who would spend my time helping a dog shelter, but those €5 felt like a joke and an extra charge for who knows what.
P.S. After your answer
I am shocked that you suggest I should solve issues like missing toothbrushes, lack of warm blankets, or vegetables at breakfast by constantly communicating with the staff. I came to the hotel to RELAX, not to supervise someone else's work. I assume these things should be provided by default and shouldn’t require my attention. I am disappointed that you addressed only minor complaints and ignored the more significant ones.
Everything was perfect, from our arrival to the departure the staff was very attentive.
The rooms are splendid and the view is unique.
We got to experience a truly memorable stay.
I highly recommend to book this venue for a wedding as they have a great event planner and the matrimonial suite is divine.
Their chapel is the most charming and their celebration venue is very inviting.
The location is fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel.
