Lovely traditional hotel. Easy to get to but in a countryside setting. Parking on site as is the restaurant. Good food. Friendly staff. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

We've stayed at the Sonnenhof a number of times, it's always a pleasure - well decorated rooms, good food, helpful staff. Nice terrace for sitting outside. The only downside in the summer is that the nearby road seems to have infrequent but regular traffic, and with bedroom windows open it can be a little disturbing.

I've ordered food here, the quality was really good and tasted delicious. The staff was really kind and helped me with all my questions

Amazing spa. I had the best massage there. We spent 3hrs at the spa. You can also have lunch and breakfast there.

Beautiful small boutique hotel with a small spa attached. View over the countryside. We had a suite which was very sizable, and came with both a bath and a shower. You get free access to the spa area with your hotel stay (sauna, steamroom, hottub and in-and outdoor pool), which was very relaxing. The attached gastronomic restaurant Le K is absolutely great - and the breakfast offers a lot of options...

Stopped by to visit the spa area. It’s available for drop-offs without hotel booking from Mon-Thu. It’s quite enjoyable, not crowded, but the sauna was under maintenance. The views are magnificent.

Beautiful property and setting, incredible dinner at restaurant Le K. Staff treated us very warmly. We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit the property in the future.

The rooms are amazing and match the photos and the leisure and relax space is fantastic to relax and enjoy the hotel's spa space. The outdoor space with swimming pool, jacuzzi and surrounded by forest is fantastic, not to mention the contact with the horses.

The bed is very comfortable, everything is clean. The breakfast is also very good. A little bit of everything. Didn't need it but lady at reception was helpful on the phone and offered to pick me up at Central Station. :) very nice

We appreciated the very friendly staff and hotel owner, the fabulous location and garden, as well as the rich breakfast buffet.

I have been there dozens of times, and every year on our way to family in Germany. Best local cuisine ever. We always had a large beer 'Helles vom Fass', followed by Pork Medallions and pommes. And the view of the winding river (Saarschleife) is memorable. Will go back this summer.

Excellent place to be. Beautiful environment for hiking in the woods and along the river Saar. Lovely spa with swimming pool and sauna, and chairs to spend long hours reading a book. Best breakfast buffet you can find. Good diners. Friendly staff. We keep coming back.

Breakfast was great, freshly orange juice quality jam. Location it’s nice but only one think I didn’t like are room was facing to main road was very load car sounds trow out the night :( I wish I knew it I would book different room. But everything else was more then I expected. Super clean place !!!

Lovely family hotel. They have themed rooms. Stayed it the gym room. Breakfast was great. It is a bio hotel, unfortunately this is not advertised enough. You get bio breakfast and have bio cosmetics in the bathroom. Can recommend it.

We stayed one night on a motorcycling holiday. The rooms were great and peaceful but the thing that most impressed me was the staff. We were welcomed into the hotel and nothing was too much bother. A garage was provided for the bikes. Although Monday was rest day for the restaurant, a typed letter arrived at the room advising where to eat. Hotel/rooms were clean, rooms were quiet, staff were helpful/friendly, check in/out was easy, bags stored on checkout until flight no problem. Breakfast was good with a fair bit of choice and plenty of tea/coffee served to the table. Balcony to enjoy a evening beverage on with 2 Euro beers available from the fridge in the lounge. Overall the price seems fair for the type of hotel.

Very quaint and old fashioned, but in nice way. Beds comfortable and good breakfast spread, buffet style, with plenty choice and all fresh. Good value for money. Also, close for porcelain shopping at Villeroy and Boch which is experience by itself. Love staying in Mettlach as is perfect quiet little town in river Saar

An old and impressive castle which was built in 1902-1903 by the Boch family (Villeroy & Boch) and has a rich history. The castle is the official Villeroy & Boch guest house since 1954. Could not have been better! Beautiful rooms in an amazing location. What a privilege to overnight in a castle with such rich history from the Boch family, which is apparent all around. The interior as well as the exterior exceed all expectations, and the lovely staff provide the last finishing touch. Highly recommended!!
