5-star Review for a 2-star Hotel
I didn’t have the option to choose my accommodation during my stay in Szeged, and based on the initial reviews, I was expecting a poor experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find that I had been given a newly furnished room. The check-in process was quick, and the room was clean and tidy—contrary to what I had read in previous reviews.
In fact, I’ve stayed in four-star hotels with dirtier rooms and less friendly staff. Although I didn’t personally pay for my stay, I would say it offers decent value for money as a budget hotel.
While the furnishings in other rooms and common areas were older, everything was kept clean. The staff, especially the receptionist, was extremely kind and patient—kudos to her.
The breakfast included all the basics you’d expect in any hotel: eggs, jam, toast, salami, cheese, coffee, and juices.
As for the location, it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the city center, but you can reach it in just 5 minutes using an electric scooter from “Lime.”

A hotel well suited for a short stay. The rooms are clean although a bit small. Unfortunately there is no kettle for making tea or coffee. There is a coffee machine in the hotel. The location is somewhat decentralized.

First of all the hotel is socialist looking and it is breaking down, the bed is hard as a rock, the pillows fell like they are full of rags, the balcony is just pure concerete and dusty, the food is not edible, the air conditionig doesn,t work. When we were eating brekfast we got bread with mold. This was the worst hotel of my life. If I could i would give this hotel a 0.

Clean in general, but rhey should ad more soap and shampoo to hotel rooms. Good location specially if you plan to visit Aquapolis. Dining-serving area should be bigger and better organized because it easily gets crowded and slow. Heating in winter period is low.

I made a reservation for two of my colleagues more than one month earlier, because they had to take part on an important event/conference close to the hotel. On the same day of book in, we received a short email, that their reservation is modified to another hotel on the other part of the city - far from the event. I called the hotel and told the lady on the other end of the line that this situation is very uncomfortable for my colleagues, because of the distance, so please try to compensate with a free taxi service for my colleagues, because will be a celebration on the event and they have to use taxi late evening - its normal that they have to drink a glass of champagne or wine with our partners. The lady refused my request starchy and said the word "drunken" to my colleagues without any information about them. Summary: my colleagues went back late night by taxi - and it was paid by them. The service of this "alternative" Tisza Alfa Hotel was rubbish - we will avoid this "hotel-company" in the future.

It was a truly horrible experience for me. I only stayed 3 days and immediately rented a house. Yes, it may be for you if you say cheap or whatever. But if you say that cleaning is a must, I would never recommend it. because in the 3 days I stayed, cleaning was not done even for a day.
There was a discount for Erasmus students. Although 18 euros was shown in the mail we received and 18 euros was the equivalent of 5,500 forints, they tricked me into taking 21 euros and breakfast was not included. For everything I paid with a card, much more money was withdrawn in euro terms.
Also i can say that bathroom was verry small, room was verry cold( there was no air conditioning) etc.
And also the room for 4 person thats why when u go een market u should leave the key.
When you add these experiences, I can say that it is actually a terrible experience.
