Phu Dahla Residences Mini-hotel

DO NOT STAY HERE. Health hazard + fraudulent charges. Filing a formal report.

I stayed at Phu Dhahla Residences from July 26 through August (booked via Airbnb), and it has been an absolute nightmare. I’m writing this review to warn future travelers — this place should not be listed on Airbnb, Booking.com, or any reputable platform. They fake reviews on Google to boost their SEO and it's disgusting.

HEALTH HAZARD — MOLD IN AIR CONDITIONING

One of the air conditioning units was completely broken. The others were filled with visible black mold and thick dust buildup inside the vents. These units are not just dirty — they are a direct health risk. This is not a minor complaint — it's a serious violation of basic hygiene and safety.

FALSE ADVERTISING — MISLEADING AND MISSING AMENITIES

No washing machine (despite being expected and referenced by front desk)

No kitchen utensils unless you request them and pay extra

Refillable toiletries only at check-in — anything else incurs an additional fee. (EVERYTHING HERE IS AN ADDITIONAL FEE)

One air conditioner does not work

Cleaning and towel changes cost extra, but this is not clearly disclosed

Restaurant and room service are advertised but not operating

The host misrepresents what is offered. Key amenities were either missing or hidden behind unexpected charges, creating an experience nowhere close to what was promised.

UNAUTHORIZED CASH PAYMENTS

The host demanded cash payments for electricity and gas — off-platform, outside of Airbnb. This is a serious violation of Airbnb’s rules, removing all guest protections and opening the door for exploitation. Nothing about this was clearly disclosed prior to arrival. It was only mentioned in a vague footnote buried deep in the listing after we had already booked. We were forced to pay 13,000 Bhat for 1 month of Gas and Electric, which is absurd.

I am in the process of:

Submitting a formal complaint to Airbnb with full documentation

Filing a health and consumer safety complaint with Thai authorities

Requesting that this listing be permanently removed from Airbnb and other booking platforms.

I have documented everything with photos of black mold, broken AC, misleading descriptions, and messages about unauthorized charges.

Do not stay here. This is not a safe, clean, or honest property. It is being marketed as something it is not. There are far better and safer options in Thailand. Avoid Phu Dhahla Residences at all costs.

Bed bugs! Avoid at all cost!
When asked for a refund they present you a piece of paper to sign that says: I will pay full amount (cancellation fee) and I will not talk about it online. Basically fraud. They did not gave a refund and now AirBNB support is involved. Absolutely shady and horrible.

I like to share my experience in this damn place, where the reception service was horrible like they have zero consideration for people, they just sit there doing nothing and also they suggested us a bike from the hotel but charged us 50 baht over priced and discounted saying give us a review. And also it seems nice when you check in but their checkout procedure is horrible, they take 1000 Baht from you checked it and when we vacated they mentioned the floor mat like the floor mat is stained and we will charger 250 baht for a floor mat in the bathroom and said this stain wont go and did not give our money back and I had to wash and show them that the stain will go. The female in the reception is one of a kind and I don’t know how she’s running it sitting there where this is a service industry but they made it a horrible stay for us.

Looks good from a far but it’s a trap!

I booked 9 nights here & when I first arrived in the evening I thought everything looked good. However, when I woke up the next morning I realized that the room wasn’t properly cleaned & there were weird stains on the blanket.
I had asked to change my room already when I arrived because I had asked for a higher floor- it took several days before it happened. I then got relocated to the third floor. There on my first night I found a cockroach happily running around my bathroom which I told the reception about immediately. The lady was nice enough to come up & take care of it with her ruler(?). The next day when I returned from my trip I came back to 4 cockroaches dying in my bedroom.

I didn’t believe the other bad reviews since there were also so many good ones. But honestly for that price the rooms look nice but they are dirty & obviously that place had a problem with cockroaches. For my last 2 nights I booked a different hotel (surprise: no cockroaches). They told me they would refund the last 2 nights but I never heard from them again.

They always smile & say they will take care of everything but unfortunately they just don’t really do anything.
