Koh Mook Sivalai Beach Resort

I would not recommend this resort. While some of the staff were lovely, me and my two travelling companions were in a serious taxi accident in a taxi recommended by the hotel, requiring hospital treatment on the mainland and an early end to our trip. The taxi flipped on a gravel road, throwing us out or into the metal poles within the carriage. We were then left on the road and had to walk to the local medical centre where the hospital on the mainland was recommended (I ended up needing six stitches).
The reception staff treated the incident with disdain and were laughing as we set off (which in hindsight makes me suspect they knew the taxi ride may be dangerous) and laughed again when we returned seriously injured, with no concern for our safety and seemed to find it very amusing.
Be incredibly wary of taking local taxis on the smaller more dangerous roads - especially gravel roads. They did refund us for cancelling the trip early, but were not kind.
You are a long way from medical care should you require it. Be careful! If I hadn't been with my two wonderful friends I don't know how or when I would have been able.to seek care - especially as reception was unhelpful (and seemed to think the injury was not serious despite needing stitches).
