Koh Mook Sivalai Beach Resort

The trip was very good. Special thanks to Stefan who was very welcoming and the staff were really helpful as well. Most comfy beds I had in my life. Biggest place in Koh Mook to stay. More activities available during high season. Overall a very good stay and would recommend to other future guests 👍🏼

The resort is beautifully situated on the peninsula. We had a beach suite. The suite is beautifully decorated, and the view from the room is breathtaking.
However, the air conditioning is unfortunately very loud and also directed towards the headboard of the bed. The water pressure in the shower is far too low; I couldn't wash long hair there. There is an outdoor bathtub that has better water pressure.
In general, a few things could be improved. There is very little natural shade on the beach. All bungalows have their own terrace; it would be nice to invest in sun umbrellas here. We couldn't use the terrace at our beach bungalow continuously throughout the day because the shade was insufficient.
Also, it would be nice to have an additional bamboo wall between the outdoor bathtub and the resort area so that not every pedestrian in the resort can see the bathtub. Likewise, between the two lounging areas of the individual bungalows, a slight privacy screen could be built or planted. These are just minor things, and everyone perceives them differently.
The pools were unfortunately too warm during our visit, and the pool area could be made more inviting.
In general, it is a very nice open location. The reception and restaurant are beautifully designed. All staff are helpful and always friendly. The breakfast was simple and sufficient. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty.

Best resort on Koh Mook for sure. Family room available at reasonable price. Most rooms are very close the the beach even the second row is not that far.

What you need to consider is when to go there. Trang sea is calm from November to late April. In some year that rain comes late, you can have good weather until early May before monsoon season kicks in.

You can book day tour to Morakot cave and Koh Kradan at the resort, or if it is fully booked, you can walk outside to the village and ask many agents there.

Great facilities, good food, rooms well maintained. It is not a super luxury resort but a good one that did a lot of things right.

I don’t even know where to start with all the good things. We had a front row villa with an amazing view. We didn’t want to leave the deck or beach. The room was lovely with ac and a mosquito net.
Your room would be made in the morning, and there was a turndown service in the evening with letting your mosquito net down. That said, we never saw a single mosquito.

The staff is so friendly. Reception / cleaning / restaurant/ driver- everyone .

I found the pillow but hard and that was changes quickly, no problem.

The minibar is very reasonably priced and so is getting room service.

We had a little bit of a walk to the restaurant, which was good with all the eating. But if it was too warm, you could get a golf cart to pick you up. There was no shortage of these.

The breakfast buffet had everything you could dream of.

If I had to say anything negative it is at the bed was a bit hard. However, on the day we were leaving we saw that they had memory foam toppers, ready to go onto all the beds.

If I ever have the privilege to return to this island, I will be staying here for sure, but more than just the three nights we had !

We stayed here for 2 nights in a second row bungalow. On arrival we were greeted with a prison like security fence which was a bit off putting initially, however once inside the resort the whole place was beautiful and very peaceful.
The room was modern, clean and comfortable although rather like a gold fish bowl with windows everywhere and no privacy unless you close all the curtains.
The mini bar was surprisingly reasonably priced .
The on site restaurant has an enviable position , beautiful views all around good food and very reasonably priced, service, although very friendly was frustratingly slow.
The boat services to other islands pick up directly from the resort beach which was very convenient for our onward travel to Koh Lanta.

Room: Very nice decorations with good equipments.

Location: Outstanding location since the resort is located in the top edge of the island so you will see the sea in the both sides of the resort. Can not resist the beauty of this place. You must enjoy the sun rise here, it might be one of the most beautiful sun rises in your life 😉.

Service: Really need to improve. We did stay here for 2 nights, and we really enjoyed this place, so we expected to extend 1 more night on this beautiful island, but when we asked the reception about extension, they offered us a LOWER room but MUCH EXPENSIVE than what we were having (a front beach villa) 🥲. I dont think this service worth the price we paid. ❌ Plus, I have some other minor bad experience here, but well, as I mentioned above, the room, the housekeepers were so nice, the location was great so, so I might skip it.

The location is the selling point here. It's no reason it's used as the postcard for all things Koh Mook. The resort sits on a spit of sand and it is stunning. The staff couldn't be more polite if they tried to be and for resort prices, food and drink is not bad at all. This place is a must stay for anyone coming to Koh Mook.

For a hotel on a small island, this was great! We stayed during low season and everything went smoothly. The rooms were fabulous. It was annoying that the large pool was not clean but at least the smaller pool was clean. Like many small island resorts, breakfast is always a tough for westerners. Had a small range of Thai options and the usual for western eg, bacon, egg station, hash browns, sausages. The staff were concerned with sting rays and jellyfish during our stay.
I would definitely go back!
