GRAND PA Hotel&Resort Lamphun Chiang Mai

It’s a very nice, comfortable and clean room with a lot of space. Room alone would be 5/5 but unfortunately, couldn’t sleep until after 12am due to very loud thumping bass from nearby venue which ruined the whole experience. Buffet breakfast was really bad, also.

This is a modern, well-equipped hotel with spacious and clean rooms although it is a little way out of the older part of the town; there is a shopping mall nearby and the hotel itself has a small convenience store. However, given that there is an entrance to the B Block which requires the same key card as the room, to issue only one card when there are two guests is extremely inconvenient; had I been staying longer than one night, I would have raised this as an issue. I was also concerned by a litter bin overflowing with food waste in the area immediately outside the hotel; I had seen that garbage the night before but, by 9am the following morning, that garbage was still there: that will attract cockroaches and housekeeping should remove it immediately. Breakfast, which was included in the price, was reasonable but catering staff should already be well aware that certain types of bread will only last a day: the bread was so stale that it was rock hard; I showed it to the restaurant supervisor who recognised that it was inedible and apologised, yet, bizarrely, allowed it to remain on the buffet table! There were flies on the cakes and ants crawling around the drinks dispensers; that is not acceptable for a hotel of any rating. I also think that the hotel should offer a better selection of cold drinks rather than severely watered down orange juice.
