Spice Island Hotel & Resort

This place is the most hospitable and welcoming hotel I ever visited! I didn't even book here but me and my friends were more than welcome to shelter on their plot for a rainstorm. We were so kindly greeted by a staff member who didn't think twice to offer us a cozy spot on their couches out of the rain and told us to not feel obligated to buy anything but to simply relax and take our time until we were ready to continue travelling. This uncalled for act of utmost hospitality triggered us to buy some drinks and lunch there, which were a little more expensive then usual on the island, but incredibly tasty! Also their facilities were in perfect conditions: clean and nice. Would absolutely recommend!

A really nice resort on the east coast - decent food and a lovely jetty bar for enjoying a sundowner! Staff were friendly and rooms were spacious.

Lovely setting by the Indian Ocean. When it's low tide the sea goes out a long way so not always easily accessible. Also see between the beach and shore line there are rocks and dead coral which also can make it not ideal for people with mobility issues. Really quiet and peaceful. Some beach sellers - not many - and they're not too bad at taking no for an answer. Idyllic place .

Great place to relax and unwind after safari.

It has a HUGE pool that is over 3 metres deep.

Rooms are lovely but a little sparse (lots of hard surfaces)

Food is good without being too expensive, alcohol is priced moderately but reasonably expensive for Africa

Very relaxed vibe overall. The beach has huge tides (4-6m) so dont plan on too much swimming in the ocean, and the wind is constant but takes the heat out of the day. The wind can get very wild and hence the kiteboarders who are in the area in there hundreds

Had the best time here! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The pool is large with bar service nearby. The staff is what made our time here, they are so kind and hospitable. We enjoyed our time at the beach, pool, and had amazing massages. We hope to come back here in the future! Highly recommend to book here!

Great location right in the centre of Stone Town. A nice hotel for the price. Great value for money. My single room was clean with a big bathroom. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and the roof top bar/restaurant a nice place to relax. Staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely would return.

The people made the place - wonderful staff! Rooms were big and comfortable and food was good/comparable to other resorts, in terms of quality and price. Good hot breakfast was nice way to start the day, and limited wifi made the visit really relaxing.

It is a nice little resort in Paje Zanzibar. The manager Paulo is very helpful and friendly. He looks closely to the guests.
The rooms are clean- they clean it in the morning and in the evening the staff come to the room to close the mosquito net and spray a mosquito spray. The chance of being bite by insects there is very low. :) The rooms also have some amenities. The hotel staff is amazingly nice and helpful. The beds are very comfortable.
The only thing I believe it could improve a bit is the breakfast. It was very basic.
Other than that I would say that is a very good choice if you want to stay in Paje.
