Casa Umoja

Low quality at a high price. Dark bungalows, water problems, little current or none, sometimes the electricity didn't work. Dirty common areas and the bungalows themselves. The dirt was not short-lived, but after a long time without cleaning. There was no regular cleaning of the rooms. Broken fridge, which we got to one of the bungalows. Breakfast dull. I do not recommend it especially for families with children. Since staying in this accommodation, the whole family has intestinal problems that persist for a week after returning.

Accomodation not far away from nice beach. Bungalows located in garden with lot of plants and trees. Bungalows in rural style-as everywhere here in this price level- 90 USD for doubleroom, 120 USD for tripple- but without AC, with fan. Bathroom very poor- take a shower was many times impossible because of low water preassure. No automatical cleaning service, for everything you have to ask. Breakfast: plate of fruits, 1 egg of your choice, 1 small pancake, fresh fruit juice- not everytimes was enough for all. The main problem dirt- not clasical mess of the last week, but longlasting impurity in rooms, in bathrooms. Lobby was the only one wi-fi place- close to kitchen for guests- hier would nobody smell and see the dirt, the same in fridge. When we complain to poor service, to dirt for not low price, we recieved answear, that we should ask everytime for cleaning the room, for fresh towel etc. No, thats very bad philosophy, it is no eco-lodge, where we await that. We spent 4 weeks in Zanzibar, In Nungwi- the best beach area we found after Casa Umoja another accomodation- which was for same price, with perfect service every day, super clean, AC! In another region we spent 2 weeks in bungalows for 50-60 USD als with perfect service and purity. So after traveling around Zanzibar we would never recommend Casa Umoja. Even if for half price! The owner set a european prices, which not meet the basic standard.
