Rogue Housekeeping
The hotel is experiencing an influx of trainees, however our experiences with the housekeeping on the property were unacceptable and well below Marriott standards.
Upon checking in we were given room 202 which was written on the key card envelope. Upon reaching the room the key card did not work. Another trip down to the front desk to find we were actually in room 204
As Bonvoy Titanium members we were also upgraded to a water view balcony suite, however this was not noted on check-in but a nice surprise.
On the second day we requested housekeeping to occur when we were out of the room in the morning. However on arrival back in the suite at 1:30 pm the room was as we left it.
Contacting the front desk we were told someone would be there shortly and the housekeeping manager had been informed.
By 3:00 PM with no shampoo or coffee and no toilet paper or clean water glasses to drink from we again called down to the front desk who again reiterated the housekeeping manager had again promised someone would be there within five minutes.
We waited with crossed legs and no showers until 4:30 PM when we called and requested the manager speak with us. The manager screened the calls and informed us through the front desk that the housekeeping manager had assured us the someone was on the way and would all be sorted by 5:00pm before staffs went home.
With no toilet paper and staying in an expensive suite we were left with no choice but to use the hotel facilities while again waiting for housekeeping.
At 5:20 PM we had enough and called to speak with the manager about releasing us from our final night as we were packing to move to another property.
The manager seemed shocked that housekeeping had gone home and not serviced the room. She promised to come and see us immediately.
The manager then proceeded to apologetically clean the room herself, make the bed, replenish the shampoo, toilet paper and clean glasses and then informed us that we were not entitled to housekeeping daily and this was written on a card in the room.
We did find a sheet in the room with a paragraph on housekeeping every second day – Are guests expected to read every piece of info in the room?
The front desk made no mention of housekeeping protocols either or we would have put out the card first thing in the morning.
Apparently no one at the hotel front desk that we spoke with is aware of this policy either.
More troubling is the fact that when the manager asked housekeeping to service the room they ignored her command and took the rogue route of going home leaving guests with out the very basic necessities!
That is not ok with us!

The room, lobby, and overall cleanliness were very nice, but the hotel is a poor value for how much we paid, and they cheap out on very specific items. The toilet paper in our upgraded room was the worst I've ever used. A gas station bathroom had better. The ability to charge our EV was important to our stay, but we were disappointed to learn the EV chargers are an extra cost that requires you to download a third party app, and has restrictions like a 4 hour time limit. Other hotels in the area offer free EV charging without these restrictions. You should look elsewhere if you require EV charging. The lack of free breakfast is typical for more expensive hotels, but again other hotels in the area offer free breakfast.

Being Marriott members we always stay at this Courtyard when visiting lake George. It’s a very clean hotel with friendly staff. The restaurant Charlie’s is also a great restaurant with a mom and pops feel. The hotel being so close to shepard park my kids love going there as well. The outside of the hotel holds the Adirondack style of architecture, while the inside has more of a modern feel. I do like the look of the lobby and whole level 1 area. The rooms don’t really fit the same as the rest of the hotel. I do like a nice bright room, but being in a more wilderness style location the rooms don’t really match the setting. Other then that, the place is definitely worth staying at. Especially having a indoor pool, the whole family will love it.

We had several broken items in one of the rooms and we did alert the front desk to prevent any further issues at checkout. Our first night in the hotel was good, but on Friday after our family checked in to our second booked room, the experience got much worse. My sister requested additional bedding and pillows to accommodate her four person family. The rooms we booked were listed as having full sized pull out beds but they were twin sized. The mattresses had mold and stains on them so we requested a roll away, which they don’t have. Our solution to ask for sheets to cover the dirty pull out mattresses and enough pillows to allow for one per person were not unreasonable yet we were not granted that request without being treated poorly and rudely. Upon checking out, we alerted the front desk to an issue which was extremely unsettling and unsanitary and they offered us a complementary cup of coffee. We were willing to look past the previously mentioned issues but a dirty pair of women’s underwear left in the closet shows a lack of regard for cleanliness and customer service when we informed them of the issue. All of the issues we had could have easily been solved but instead the hotel chose to do nothing for us. Their lack of regard for us put a massive damper on our trip and made our stay extremely uncomfortable.

Great location, walkable to local restaurants and shops. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were nicely decorated, bright, spacious and clean. The pool area was nice, with our group of younger kids we liked that it was only up to 4.5 ft deep, although it was a little colder. We also appreciated the 4 working level 2 EV chargers in the garage (although wish they enforced EV parking only to stop the spots being blocked by people not using them). When we visited it was .35/kw.

The stuff was very nice. Location was excellent, big clean rooms with nice views of the lake. The restaurant manager was great accommodating a dinner of our party of 30. Gabby, our waitress, was awesome, very friendly and did a great job with multiple checks for our big party. The rooftop has awesome views. Kids enjoyed the pool although it is only 4 1/2 feet deep. We will definitely recommend this hotel and we will back again.

A Marriott hotel in Lake George by Canada st. Good location for dining and after hours drinking. It is not next to the lake but across the street. If you book high floor rooms with lake side view it is great, otherwise the standard rooms are mountain view. They have roof top access which you can hang out. Coffee shop and restaurant is ok. Rooms are big.
