Acclaim Rose Gardens Beachside Holiday Park

A beautiful relaxing venue to celebrate my husband's birthday.
Wish we had more time there.

We were a little disappointed by our stay. On day 2 kids rode bikes through our unpowered tent site at speed and ripped the fly on our tent. They didn't even stop and no parents in sight. Also our food in the fridge was thrown out even though we abided by the rules. The sites are pretty sandy too. That said, the toilets, showers and camp kitchen were clean and nice. The location is great.

This was our third visit to this park, and I'm still full of mixed feelings.

We've been to a lot of places way better than this. But we have also seen a lot that were way worse.

We stayed in a tent on the edge of the park, opposite the camp kitchen. The biggest issue was the noise coming from the building next to the park, which sounded like a commercial refrigerator. When we complained about this to management they said that they can't do anything about the noise, but allowed us to select a better spot.

Please be aware that there are not many tent spots in this park! And the one that we had looked like the best one. Others were not very level, or in the backyards of the cottages, or sloped and windy. The management didn't allow us to use a caravan site for our tent.

It looks like the park was not being looked after. The amenities weren't very clean, the tv remote in the game room was missing, and the room was never locked for the night time. Some buildings would greatly benefit from some TLC.

On the flip side, the location is great! There's a nice cafe couple of hundred metres down the road, a bike path, nice views, rabbits, etc. Not too far from the town.

Loved the location and the view from the kitchen/lounge/dining area. It wasn't freezing cold inside which we all loved as past experiences from staying at albany accomodations, it has always been cold during nights. The lady at the front was amazing too, she was very welcoming and understanding.

Our recent family trip to Acclaim Rose Gardens was a late booking so we were surprised to get a spot in the park. Reviews were not enthralling however we crossed our fingers and hoped only the negative people were posting!
The park is old and in real need of a cash splash which is never easy to come across. Whilst the team at the park provided friendly service they are clearly hamstrung by the lack of funds. Groundstaff always saying hello and checking you are ok. Not one issue with the people side of things. Thank you for a seamless check-in/out process.
Rec room - fusbal table with missing ball and has seen many better days. Table tennis table was not in good shape. That's all there was really. Playground was old and dated. Understand the Big 4 parks spent a lot of money but if you have kids it's a no brainer when it comes to choice, if you have one.
Amenities. New block in the centre of the park is nice. Older block towards office is really poor. Hand soap was rare and toilets are very old and appeared to be neglected. Showers were tiny and I can't say if they were cleaned as tiles were disgusting. Nobody's fault, just their age.
Location is super. Two beaches either side of the park. What more can you ask for.
Food van on-site nightly for busy periods is a great addition. Never ate there as we weren't aware it was there and had bought food for each night however others noted the food was of a good quality.
The holiday took me back to the 90s. Hopefully there is an injection of funds sometime soon which could see more people return.
Would we visit again? Unlikely but it is said with a heavy heart as our kids had a ball and that's all that matters I guess.
