Sage Hotel James Street

This hotel is not worth the very high night price.
There are very limited facilities and services. The wifi is not strong. I booked a city view room and 5 mins in realised it was on a busy road with single glazing and noisy.
I asked for a quieter room. It is quieter but smells mouldy and quite dusty. I went out to meetings and came back to a room that had not been made up. Was told only cleaned every few days - explains the dust and mouldy smell.

The gym and pool they have a relationship with is 10 min walk away

If the price was cheaper and they pitched themselves as 3 star maybe I would overlook some of the above. But for nearly 300 dollars a night and a supposed 4 star rating this is a huge rip off. Sage stop cutting corners and either lower your rate or improve the quality of your hotel and services offered.

In summary a basic hotel with rooms that smell and outsourced services - not 4 star at all.

Great location, odd smell in the halls and the rooms. Staying here on my own I didn't feel completely safe so I didn't have a great nights sleep despite the bed being very comfortable. There are locks on the doors, but a deadbolt would have helped me feel safer as lots of noise could be heard in the hallway at late hours.

I stayed here on the weekend and was disgusted to find my bedside was filthy with a mysterious liquid on it from the last guest! Also the lotion in the bathroom provided had the seal broken and had clearly been used by the last guest as well. Otherwise the room was fine but this was hard to ignore. I emailed about this after checking out but have received no response.
