Esplanade Hotel Fremantle - by Rydges, Fremantle1 / 46
Fremantle, Corner Marine Terrace and Essex Street 🧭 Map
The breakfast was very underwhelming. For a $60 breakfast for my husband I, it was a huge let down. On the first day, we had to wait for bacon to be refreshed and it was barely cooked when it did come out, the option of scramble egg or hard boil was disappointing for the cost, would have expected atleast fry or poach for the price. Coffee was empty had to wait for that as the “coffee lady” was making...
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good food. Walls in conference rooms are not soundproof enough. Both the conference and first aid course were disturbed by each other. More thought should have been put into placement.
Great place for the National Labor Women's Conference 2023. Sound and visual amenities were great and few technical issues were had. Break out rooms were great for our requirements, providing visual and audio facilities to help facilitate discussion. Food was good. Vegan options available.
We had our wedding celebrated at Esplanade. Karen & her team have been very helpful, they have provided us the best experience for a wedding, no stress and all fun. She understood our requirements from day 1. She made all the suggestions that highlights the beauty of the occasion. We enjoyed our families' presence with no hassles in this hotel. From all the room bookings to the ceremony & reception...
Great location, helpful staff, nice pool, option to not have room cleaned every day with a reward for choosing not.
As a Fremantle makeup artist and hairstylist I’m here regularly looking after my clients attending a ball or wedding and other events and I’m always blown away by the impeccable service I receive. The concierge and front desk staff are always professional and their attention to detail is much appreciated. Coming here I always feel like a valued guest myself! I have worked in many of the rooms here...

Room is spacious. Location is excellent since we can go to have a river walk just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Staff is nice. Late check out is permitted for us till 11:30am. Design is simple.
A few girlfriends and l went for lunch on Saturday. The Sangria and Paella event. Perfect spot for views of the river. The Paella was good, however other guests that ate off the main menu, well their food looked delicious. Definitely going back to try the main menu out.
This hotel is AMAZING. I stayed here for a week. The rooms are recently renovated and very spacious. There is a gym, a lovely pool and a rooftop entertainment area with an incredible 180° view. The BEST thing about the hotel is the staff. Every single staff member from reception, kitchen, housekeeping, restaurant etc went out of their way to give the best possible customer service. I have stayed at...
Staff at the front desk were friendly and we had an upgraded room so that was nice. Room was big and very clean. It was close (5min walk) to some good restaurants as well plus a charger a few minutes walk away for our car. They had secured parking for $25 a day. Internet was fast and reliable too, which I needed to do a class. Was nice to have a view of the river from our room :)
To be honest a really nice stay. The staff were amazing and the front desk really set the tone of the whole experience. The hotel itself is a little dated but the rooms have been renovated to a good standard. The facilities are all nice with a great pool area and a chill out terrace. The gym is well appointed (but the treadmills might be due for replacement soon). I would definitely come again and...
It’s a lovely place to stay, the staff are very accommodating and polite. The food for breakfast was amazing! In the night I rang an asked for some blankets and soy milk, as I couldn’t drink the full cream in the fridge and they managed to find some for me. They just went above and beyond and my stay was very nice. Beds are comfortable and really nice to sleep in! Shower was amazing and really comforting...

it was very modern and clean. they let us check in early and check out late. the staff were really accommodating and for my birthday. the breakfast in the morning was small but what was on offer was very lovely and quality. would definitely stay here again, it was very very nice
Absolutely loved this place, room was spotlessly clean, welcome message on bathroom mirror .... Nice touch. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was basic but delicious especially the nice jams. Free cheese biscuits and wine early evening in the brewery court yard. Location of hotel great for bars, restaurants and shops. Was so relaxing I rang our daughter to come and book a night so we could go out for...
Lacking Luxe ambience. The pillows are cheap polyester, the complimentary continental breakfast is very very basic, toast and jam and coffee from an average coffee machine. . Gym access wasn't explained or offered or available. The good: location and unlimited complimentary water and also some nice amenities in the minibar.
Lovely hotel, small room and the bathroom is quite minimal. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is included and was surprisingly good, self made bread (I loved the fruit break) with yoghurt, berries, jam, Nutella, home made musli, coffee, tea and juices.
Even if the tiny rooms are real tiny, the place is lovely and the staff friendly and efficient. Very nice breakfast too. And last but the least, the story, the adventure, of the irish political convicts is told in a vivid manner. And the coffee is not bad at all.
Had a lovely stay! Little gem of a hotel. Staff are amazing and facilites wonderful for the area. Close to main drag in fremantle. Loved the breakfast and cheese and wine offering. Expect compact rooms. But with so much to do in fremantle no issues!

Vicki was amazing from our initial contact. I wanted to shout my son a nice place to stay for a few days before he started his new job. Vicki even organised a little basket of goodies for his arrival and the feedback from my boy was incredible. Next time Im in Perth I know where I'll be staying.
We stayed 4 nights. Great location. Everything a short drive, walk or free bus ride away. Super clean and modern. Good breakfast of cereals, baked goods, fruit salad, yoghurts, juices and very good coffee. Absolutely first rate customer service by Vicki. The other reviews are right. She is a gem. Very helpful and informative, she went way out of her way to make our first trip to Fremantle a great experience...
The main reason why our stay was wonderful is because of our amazing hosts Vicki and Pete. The are such lovely friendly people. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. We are looking forward to staying again. Thanks so much guys for your warmth and hospitality.
Beautiful modern rooms and facilities, excellent breakfast spread included - with an even better host! Vicki went above and beyond for our stay. Can’t thank her enough - will definitely be recommending and returning
Had a fantastic stay. Owner is lovely and looked after me well. It's a comfortable walking distance into the centre of Fremantle along the Esplanade and the blue cat bus also stops directly opposite. Wonderful breakfast also included with room. Would definitely stay here again next time I visit Fremantle
Cannot fault this place. Great location, great staff well priced and excellent amenities. Breakfast was spot on and the dining advice from Vicki was great. All in all great place and my new place for Freo.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great right next to the cappuccino strip. Room good size, great sized balcony. Great sized bathroom with lovely toiletries. Comfy beds, great air-conditioning.
The staff are lovely, the room could have been cleaner (hair and dust left on bathroom floor, carpet looks old and tired and dirty) Bed was not supportive, kept rolling into the middle. Not a very comfortable nights sleep. Cute little room with mini kitchen. Could hear other people in other rooms. Overall OK for an overnight stay, the location is great for Freo.
Great location, so many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Our room had no cooking facilities, only a kettle provided and no cutlery (didn’t impact us greatly). Unfortunately there was a neighbour in the housing next door to hotel who likes to drum with ‘scremo’ music, still blaring at 9.30pm. Overall a friendly happy stay.
The hotel was very central, a short walk to everything. Parking at the hotel carpark was a bit problematic, nowhere to park while you check in and once in there I was only really suited to a small car due to how narrow the s-bend was. The room was fine, though there were stains on the curtains and the pillows were as thick as a sheet of paper and made my kneck sore.
An average hotel in a great location in Fremantle. The rooms are nothing special, very simple and functional which is good for a short business stay. The hotel has no gym or on-site restaurant, so the breakfast is at a Cafe about 50 metres away. The internet here is terrible, so don't expect to be able to do anything that requires any voice or video. The reception was really friendly and helpful...
Stayed there in June 2010 The place is new, clean and fairly modern but is a very noisy hotel with one side on an alley way. Also missing many features & amenities that are standard at other hotels eg room service, gym, minibar, cable tv Plenty of other options in Perth that are cheaper are maybe better to stay in. Is definitely in a central location in fremantle

Great location with plenty of shade trees, good laundry with modern washing machines, beautiful hot showers, good comfortable mattress and kitchen was suitable for preparing light meals.
Love this park for a getaway that is close to Perth. The kids loved the playground, bouncy pillow and the pool. Good fishing nearby. Will definitely come back again.
I love being here cause of the location and the bird sounds in the morning reminds me of our place up in the hills. The laughter of kookaburra, the calls of the magpies the breeze from the ocean is great. Lovely staff and very helpful. However the ammenities needs to be upgraded some parts are missing needs TLC Apart from that all good.
We enjoyed out 3 week stay. Everyone has a different opinion on places. Water & power sites were good. Friendly staff. Happy to help and chat to. Enjoyed the Saturday morning bacon & egg sandwich. Amenities good. Pet friendly. Close to beach and shops. Would definitely stay again. WARNING. Snakes are on the move with th warmer weather.
Spent one night. Lovely staff. Great clean facilities. 10 minute walk to the beach. Nice and clean surroundings. Only downside was the busy road close by with all noise even late night... but overall was a nice experience.
Great picnic and bbq facilities. Public outdoor showers and indoor toilets/changing rooms. Good area to fly drones.

Clean room with lots of natural light and good appliances. Only 300m walk to the Swan River which was lovely. The bed was fabulously comfortable!
I requested a quiet one bedroom apartment but on arrival found we were located on the highway side of the hotel. I asked the staff if it was possible to be moved, which they did without hesitation as well as give us a complimentary bottle of champagne once they knew why we were staying there. We stayed for two nights and just loved our apartment which had two balconies overlooking East Fremantle. Easy...
Spent 2 days at this lovely luxury apartment. Staff were great and the service was really efficient. We were able to check into our room early and I am sure that we were upgraded as the room was much better than we expected. It was so close to everything and an easy bus ride into the main part of Freemantle.
Great location in East Fremantle. Really close to a few hip cafes and a great bar underneath the hotel. The room was in superb condition and very nicely furnished. Checked in after-hours which was really easy at it was just a phone call to get our room pass. Highly recommend to stay again.
Spacious room, clean and well appointed. Good position for transport to centre of Fremantle and trains to Perth. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay
Neat and tidy with all the necessary kichenware. It will br perfect if the bathroom cubicle is bigger

Lots of fresh fruit, yummy gluten free muesli, soy milk and fresh baked sourdough with lots of spreads to choose from. Egg & bacon breaky was an extra charge of $15.
A beautiful historical home. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was amazing. Afternoon tea is available everyday. Easy walking distance to Fremantle town centre . The only downside was the very small shower. Parking is very limited.
Wonderful staff. Room was really good very big. Art on display gave me lots of photo opportunities. Breakfast so wonderful plus cooked available.
We stayed at Fothergills in early March and found it to be a very charming old home with a warm, cosy vintage look and feel. The gardens were beautiful and our room (Endeavor) even had a private little deck overlooking the garden with a staircase down into it. The staff and proprietee were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The continental breakfast selection was huge. Because we booked directly...
The room was really nice, clean and tidy and the extras were nice, however the room needs a good fresh air airing because it was a bit stuffy. Great food for breakfast, the fruits were awesome 👌
Very close to Prison for our concert and Markets, great friendly service, quirky garden sculptures and art. Extra comfortable bed and chairs in room. Only issue for me as a larger man was toilet and shower cubicle a bit snug in our room. Other rooms do have full ensuite . Would definitely visit again

magnificent building, our room upgraded to underground, beautiful spiral staircase, letting us pass through the small door conveniently
Excellent place to stay which is close to everything. The Manager, Susanne communicated with us when we booked, and before we arrived, with check in details. Breakfast was fantastic with many dietary needs catered for. The Down Under room, where we stayed had a kitchenette with microwave, kettle and refrigerator. Beds have good quality linen and are comfortable. High standard of cleanliness and tastefully...
What a lovely place, excellent communication, everything in walking distance, a lovely host, nice well maintained room, lots of little thought through amenities like charging points beside the bed, cookies and coffee in the room, fluffy towels, and more... The breakfast was plenty and yum. Thank you Susanna
Fantastic and friendly service, Kerry the host was great. We loved the original architecture of the house. Incredible value for money definitely recommend it for couples and families alike.
Just right! A proper Bed and Breakfast complete with old-world charm, mod-cons and the perfect hostess. Susanne is warm, delightfully informative and she prepares a fantastic früstück. I found our room at the front of the building to be simple, secure and comfortable. Experience your very own Bavarian Castle in the heart of Freo
Great place and excellent value for money! Staff are super friendly, we checked in late, could park around the corner for free until 9am. The breakfast was refreshing and plentiful. Rooms all had Netflix and AC. The shared bathrooms are really nice! $115 for shared bathroom $150 for private. The bed was really comfortable. Great location, with bars, shops and cafes close by. Thanks guys!

Proximity to central freo Beautiful building Lovely breakfast included Nice to be able to open door to balcony
Nice spot right in the middle of Freo city area. Place looks historic and it fits the location. The room is quite cosy and its contains a mini fridg, a kettle, but no microwave. Shops are just around so you can explore as much as you want. There is also a 7/11 not too far from here. Will definitely stay here again.
Lovely simple place to stay with lots of character. Delicious banana bread included with breakfast. This was not an issue for us but all the rooms are all up a narrow staircase or two. Just something to note for those with mobility issues.
Convenient location so easy to get to other places from there by foot. Two great restaurants opposite the accommodation. Good amount of food offered for breakfast although my husband would have preferred toast.
Beautiful room, staff and location. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed it, a plate of fresh fruit, banana bread, yoghurts and cereal. The staff were all very friendly, polite and went above and beyond which we greatly appreciated! Our room was exactly as described in the listing for the Zuytdorp room. It was comfortable, cozy, and had a wonderful balcony that was good...
Fantastic location - central to pretty much everything you’d want to see and do in Freo and set within a secure, gated complex. We stayed in the Batavia room which, with its ensuite and courtyard facing balcony, was a well appointed shabby chic/French farmhouse themed affair - clean and tidy and while a little crowded, was more than fit for purpose. The ‘in-room’ continental breakfast was good although...

location, friendliness of reception staff, interesting history. very comfortable accommodation (we had a room with private bathroom)
Informative tour, gives a good insight into prison life at the time it was operational. Lots of extra trivia from the tour guide who answered all of our weird side-questions. Thanks
We had a lovely afternoon. We took the Escape tour and a great tour guide ensured a fantastic experience for all. A fun way to learn about the history of WA.
Seen a few old prisons and by far most intact you will see. Great tour guide and we'll worth a visit
I remember a school excursion from primary school many years ago, and everything appears much smaller. I'm now 195cm tall though, which makes the doorways look so much smaller, and ducking under them to get to the toilets is a lot further down. As it was a function, we didn't do the usual tour, so it was a DJ inside one of the cell blocks, a party on the grass outside that cell block, and a visit to...
