Recently spent a week here and we loved it! The park itself is perfect for kids. Plenty to do including the pool, mini golf and fishing in the small lake. We stayed in one of the bigger cabins and it was spacious. We had 2 issues during our stay, 1 was that the fridge didn't work and one evening our key snapped in the lock. Both were immediately resolved by the team (the key thing happened after hours too) and they were amazing to deal with.
For anyone traveling with a boat, cabin 147 was perfect. Good space for parking and easy to maneuver the boat around. Walked around the park and noticed all the common amenities were very clean too. Big thumbs up from me :)

Great little park with great things for the kids. Centrally located. Short drive to retail shops. Would stay here again.

Deluxe cabin comfortably fit a family of 4. The pool with a slide was a big hit, but being new year was very busy. Splash park was also great.

The camp itself is great, beautiful and clean.
But,
The noise from trucks and hoons most days goes into the early Am sleeping was hard due to noise.
Great spot to flick lures into the fresh water and catch a Barra.

Lovely clean pet friendly cabin with enclosed veranda at front. Overlooking the lake. Lots to do for kids (even though we had no kids with us) nice pool, jumping bag & mini golf. Cabin had everything we needed including lots of hooks in the bathroom! Close to everything & easy to get to.

Mackay Discovery Park was an exceptional place to spend quality time with family. Both the kids & adults loved the pool area. We were there over Easter.
The free craft activities provided by the staff (MJ) went down a treat. Easter egg hunts throughout the park were awesome.
Accommodation was clean & comfortable.
The highlight for me as an adult would have to be the staff. A special thankyou to MJ. You are awesome. 👍

Fantastic park. The staff are very welcoming and considerate. You don't get a big list of rules when you get there like some other parks.
You get the opposite actually.
We were really impressed and will definitely be back! Free mini golf. $5/hr buggy hire. Jumping pillow and pools etc. The most beautiful picnic area by the water.

They were so welcoming and friendly. Lovely pool. Very clean. Dog friendly. Nice lagoon at the back to bird watch.

Maybe it was this specific time of the year when few people are staying in caravan parks, but we've enjoyed staying here. It was quiet, not overcrowded, office staff were accommodating and friendly, pricing was reasonable.
Sites are large enough to allow for some privacy. You could still hear your neighbours, but we generally found families here. Did not experience any drunkenness or disorderly behaviour.
Little lake/wetland area at the edge, with grass and slab sites. Some fruit bat nuisance, but to be expected in this part of the world.
Amenities were clean, no mould or mess.
Camp kitchen at the water's edge is a bit basic, no microwave but sufficient.
Some road noise, especially trucks' , air brakes. Not many shady sites.

booked three rooms, rooms with six beds are little small for number of beds as two person has to use sofa bed, Should be better if there was two bedrooms for 6 beds option. bathrooms are little old but good an clean, kitchen was clean and mattress were comfortable, linen and towels were clean . Open parking available next to cabin. Reception staff was friendly and specially cleaning staff person who helped us with access as SMS for locker access came late due to phone network issue and same person sorted out sheets and pillow for sofa bed. Kids loved the pool and mini golf after long day of drive, place is little away from main town centre.

Great park to stay, clean & tidy. The sites are level & grassy with a concrete pad to set up your awning or annexe.
The new managers are working hard to bring this place up to date. One thing my wife and I noticed is that it's very quiet here even though it's on a busy main road. For us it was perfect place to stay situated between Mackay city & the beach & harbour. Will definitely be staying here again.
