Stayed in Federal hotel and the rooms were below average, changed hotels to Best Western and it was the best decision i made. Such great rooms, love the spa and the space the hotel rooms have. Great food also.

I've stayed in many hotels within Mount Gambier, this hotel needs some updating, the reception area looks modern but the room I occupied and that of my co-worker seemed mostly original, hopefully they update the rooms. It was a comfortable stay none the less and the staff were very friendly.

The Henty is a great place to stay if you're visiting Mount Gambier or just sleeping a night on your way to Adelaide or Melbourne. The rooms are spacious and clean. Amenities are good. We were on a family vacation so had the family room which was very clean & tidy, good towels, hot water & the beds were very comfortable. The outside was kept very neat & tidy. The motel was very close to all amenities... food, shopping centres & tourist attractions. Would highly recommend.

The walls were thin and there was no water pressure, but you couldn’t complain when it was so cheap. The room was otherwise clean and in a great location, which made it ideal for an overnight stay while on a budget. Staff were welcoming.

An older style Motel that has been maintained rather well. An on site Restaurant but only opens limited days. Certainly well worth a look if staying in Mount Gambier.

Late arrival / out of hour arrival is no problem. Staff very friendly. Location a bit out of town, but good for people who like quiet surrounding. Also next to a service station, very convenient to fill up in the morning.

Good location within walking distance of Umpherston Sinkhole. Basic accommodation but comfortable. We'd stay there again, not too expensive for what you get and good for overnight or very short stays

Booked the room at the very last minute, lucky enough to get the room and definitely no complaints. The room was spacious and very tidy with all the required things in place. The owner was lovely warmly greeted all of us , recommended the restaurants nearby. The good thing was it was 6-7 mins drive to blue lake and umpherston sinkhole. I would highly recommend this place for staying its worth the money

All round great place. Comfortable room and clean. Housekeeping staff are very friendly. Only downside is that there is no restaurant on-site. But the shopping centre is just up the road. Will tell everyone about it.

Don't expect the Ritz but it's clean, spacious and comfortable with a full size fridge, microwave and kettle. Service was friendly and super helful. Did not expect the beds made each day. Stayed in a family room for a night. Great, friendly customer service. Beds were comfortable. Room had a fridge, microwave and basic necessities. Water pressure was acceptable. All in all, reasonably good value for money. Got an excellent nights sleep and the kids were happy too.

For $90 a night the room was pretty good. It had a microwave, TV and full fridge. The manger was nice and gave us a few local attractions to look at whilst we were here. The spot is perfectly located in the centre with 5 mins walk to shops. Down side was paying for WIFI and the exterior looked a little rundown but I think the rooms were reasonably priced.

Our stay at Colwyn was very peaceful and relaxed. The old world charm was pleasing and we thoroughly enjoyed the glimpse into the early days of this unique building.

Spent Valentines Day with my wife at the Federal Hotel. Staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the meals are incredible. We ate in the bistro three nights in a row and not a bad thing to say about the food. The seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. If you visit Mount Gambier make sure to visit the Federal Hotel.

I eat here a couple times a wk when in town for work. Meals are great and well priced. All staff are great and friendly. Had dinner with my family whilst on holiday. Children's food arrived promptly and ice-cream only after mains were done. My partner had schnitzel and was happy with it. I had the pork belly and it was wonderful. We will certainly visit again when next in town.

Rooms are big and clean. Got more than your money's worth. No buffet breakfast option though but a complementary take away breakky pack was given. You can hear people talking from the next room though. But since we're to tired we still got a good night sleep. We're still happy to experience our first Mt.Gambier accomodation in this hotel.

Very nice clean motel room and in a quiet location. It is close to the highway but we could not hear the traffic. Obviously it's an aging motel.but they've been making a good effort to update and improve the facilities.

The room was small and cramped. There is no sink outside the bathroom, and the one in the bathroom is too small to fill the kettle up. Also, there is a glass door giving directly to the shower from the room? I was sharing with two male friends and it wasn't too comfortable... Still, not the worst... But I'd suggest to bring warm clothes of you go there in the winter because the heating doesn't seem...

Had a great time staying here, lots of info about the gaol and the room and bed was comfortable 😊 it's a cell after all, so it's small but cosy. The kitchen area is very well equipped with everything you might need. The owner is super chill and friendly, happy to help if you need anything. Very comfortable, we stayed in the old kitchen and slept well. Also an interesting place, all history is well signposted and easy to independently explore. Well priced, and a unique experience. Well worth it.

A unique place to stay. Lovely kitchen and living room. Many green garden spaces for relaxing. Cells (dorm rooms) stay cool all day. Metal bunk beds are a bit creaky so can disturb sleep overnight, but are still comfy.

Beautifully maintained house with different themes for different rooms. Common lounge area to relax. Daily room service with bar fridge is the Tartan room we stayed in. Conveniently located with eaterys and bars walking distance.

From the check-in to check-out everything was great. Ashleigh was very helpful when we arrived for the check-in and making sure we know everything about our stay. The room was very clean, bright and very pretty, bathroom area was designed brilliantly with the high ceiling and a window on the ceiling, very spacious area, jacuzzi and the view of the garden! Absolutely gorgeous little spot! Only approx 5kms from Mount Gambier centre, but room had everything we needed; tea, coffee, milk, bread, cereal, orange juice. Loved hearing ask the birds at sunset and the odd frog at night.

We were given the 'Matthew' suite and it was enormous! Seperate, living, bed and large bathrooms with big windows throughout. It was warm an inviting and a very comfortable stay. The spa bath was epic!

The room is old but visually clean and tidy, I think it has been awhile since the whole room has been cleaned thought. Plenty of hot water and the beds are reasonably comfortable.

Hmmm, a case of “you get what you pay for”. Very handy/ convenient location that’s for sure. The Units are old and dated. Clean enough but, very “basic”. OK for maybe an overnight stay but certainly not for a n “extended “ stay. Rooms are small with everything in there. Except the bathroom of course. Excellent motel providing everything you needed for a short stay. Thank goodness for the soap as I forgot mine. The lemon and strawberry biscuits were a nice touch as was the carton of milk we were given at reception, the box of Tissues and all the crockery and cutlery you need. Reserved a room with a patio, and it was worth the extra money. The gardens were beautifully maintained with roses everywhere. It was so relaxing sitting outside listening to all the birds. Unfortunately I was unable to utilise the gym facilities (I hadn't packed the necessary attire) but I did have a look, and it was well equipped for the space available.

Great, upmarket kind of place. The eye fillet was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Great service and extensive wine selection as well. Would definitely revisit next time I'm in the area.
