Chateau Elan At The Vintage, Pokolbin1 / 36
9.1
Pokolbin, Vintage Drive 🧭 Map
Location was outstanding as usual. Love the fireplace I requested a king bed which was granted, very comfy sleep
My wife and I got married here in June 2023 and our wedding was amazing, an absolute fairytale. We can't thank the staff at Chateau enough. Chateau is beautiful, the carriage house stunning and the accomadation is gorgeous! All staff on the day were amazing. Rebecca and Kim were outstanding and so accommodating. They really went above and beyond. Ourselves and all our guests haven't stopped raving...
Take no notice of the negative reviews. Chateau Elan satisfies. I did not visit to play golf. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The rooms, huge and appointed well. Yes, a few blemishes from age, but extremely clean. The bathroom was approx 5m x 5m. The living area approx 10m x 5m Only dined for breakfast which was excellent. Staff, excellent and professional and assisted with any query A...
I have photographed a number of weddings at Chateau Elan at The Vintage over the years and have always found it a great place for a wedding. There is great onsite accommodation and it is very easy for couples to both get ready on property in separate rooms and be far enough apart so they don't see each other. The Chapel at Chateau Elan is perfectly set up for weddings and is looks beautiful in wedding...
Had a good stay here. Excellent apartment - very well fitted out and spacious, as well as having great views of the golf course (and resident kangaroos). Breakfast was excellent, but the edge was taken off the stay as the main restaurant was closed. On site food was therefore only available in the evenings from the clubhouse bar - which served bar food of average quality at best. Not good enough...
Lovely place to stay. A bit pricey, especially on weekends but the location and service makes it worthwhile. Rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and overlooking the golf course. There is a couple of options for dinner all within walking distance.

Could not recommend this place any higher! Lovely staff, spacious and clean rooms, lovely grounds. Asking for a late checkout due to a change in circumstances was nice and easy. 5 minute walk to Roches estate and 10 minute walk to a grocery store. Will absolutely be back again! Only thing I wouldn't recommend to anyone is eating or drinking on site at "Blanchies"
Spent two nights here just over a week ago. The property is older, but the cabins (essentially half-bungalows) are a good size and very well equipped. Reception staff v helpful (was it Joel?) and great location with walking distance to several wineries. And look at that view! Perfect for enjoying your cellar door purchases.
Bush surroundings with a calm feeling. Friendly staff. Rooms are a little dated however have everything you need. We were in 77 it was quiet with a view of the lake from the patio. Bed was comfortable. Ducks came to visit in the morning and you had a view of air balloons every morning as well. Kangaroos were around each sunrise and sunset. We will definitely stay next time we are in the area. Only...
Check in was functional if a little awkward, not able or forthcoming with assistance about the hop on/off bus. No advice offered as best way to do a tour when we mentioned we were keen to see a few wineries. Accommodation is dated and showing signs of wear. That said the rooms are clean but can be very dark. Fridge, microwave and kettle with crockery and utensils provides. Air conditioning worked...
Peaceful location, beautiful mountain views and look out across the lake to the vineyard. Bbq facilities were beyond expectations. Clean grounds. All ground floor access
Great location and nice rooms, with the spa bath being a great addition. The only minor niggle is that the rooms weren't serviced during our 3 night stay, something which was not made clear and not at all obvious in the T&C's (maybe buried deep therein). Lovely people though and we'll definitely return as it's very good value overall.

Enjoyed the rural location and the complimentary vineyard tour and wine tasting in the morning. Very knowledgeable guide. Great to have bar/restaurant on site.
Flew in from the United States wanted to see what life was like in the Australian wine countryside. We could not have picked a better resort for our four nights as an exploration base. The resort has a true rustic vibe to it. With lots of activities, pool, and close proximity to 150+ vineyards and cellar doors. The staff first rate. Did not meet anyone who was not pleasant, informative, helpful and...
Hunter Valley Resort has everything you need for a great stay. Fantastic, affordable but wonderful cottages and rooms, phenomenal wines with an awesome educational tasting by Terry, which was a highlight for us, great food at the 4Pines, plus farm walks, Segway tours, a pool. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't get to use it all, but you could easily just spend a day at the resort alone. It's centrally...
I recently stayed at the Hunter Valley Resort and was thoroughly impressed with the level of cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the property. Located close to the Hunter Valley Gardens, the resort is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. The resort is also geared towards families, with plenty of activities and amenities to keep kids entertained, including a tennis court...
Great place to stay, large clean rooms with a tranquil sitting outside overlooking the garden with lots of cockatoos and other birds. We got a complementary wine theatre with tasting that was very informative and much appreciated with a friendly and knowledgeable presenter (see the picture of all the wines we tasted). The 4 Pines restaurant is roomy and overlooking the Hunter valley landscape, but...
We like to say thank you for the most enjoyable two nights stay on the 5/10/22. The room was very spacious and clean. Lots of room for two people. The view were excellent and peaceful. The staff were most friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault the service we received. I would most definitely return to stay again and recommend it. Thank you again.

This was a beautiful place to stay! Absolutely loved the fireplace and Spa bath, they were definitely a highlight. Seeing Kangaroos at dinner and breakfast at the lovely Spicers Botanica restaurant was very special, and the food was amazing!
This is now our favourite place to stay in the Hunter. A place that truly embodies relaxed luxury. Even with staying in the heart of wine country there was no need to leave as the facilities provided everything we needed including the amazing food and drinks, day spa and swimming pool/spa.
Spicers Vineyard retreat is an excellent place to stay for a special occasion. The staff are excellent, the rooms fantastic and the meals of high quality.
Incredible service, beautiful room, wonderful staff. We had such an amazing time at Spicers Vineyard, was the perfect Christmas getaway. Plenty of wineries within easy cycling distance. The on-site restaurant was delicious too and we loved feeding the resident pig, Crackle 😊
Exceptional service and everything you need on-site to feel totally relaxed. The ideal destination if you are looking for inner peacefulness, lovely surroundings and kind unpretentious people.
Visiting Spicers Vineyards Estate has become a yearly ritual for my husband and I! We choose it as our getaway each and every year because we know it will be quiet, private and we can spend a few days just relaxing. We know we will get an amazing experience every time we visit, which is why we keep coming back. Absolutely love the natural, relaxing vibe of this estate, even the bath products are beautiful...

Stayed here for one night as we were going to a concert that evening. upgraded as being a diamond elite to a beautiful room facing the valley. The room was large with a balcony, adequate sized bath and shower with good amenities, with large and comfy bed. Had a pizza and bottle wine in the outside area near the fire pit, excellent pizza for a hotel and reasonably priced wine. Typical branded IHG...
This is a lovely, classically furnished hotel. The rooms are spread out on the property in rows of 6 or 8. We opted to include breakfast, and it was an excellent smorgasbord. They had some eggs out, and the usual English breakfast, they would make eggs to order. They even had a juicing machine. There were kangaroos out on their lawns, which was very cool. My only complaint is that the room was very...
Really enjoyed our stay here over the weekend. The property boasts a unique and magical rose garden and is situated in a fantastic part of Polkobin amongst the wine gardens and winding country roads. The service and the rooms were fantastic throughout our stay from start to finish with a lovely buffet breakfast.
Really lovely hotel, reminded me of the likes of Soho house. Gorgeous setting and the grounds are very well kept. Rooms and beds are very comfortable, nice products available and the breakfast is delicious with options for everyone, even a juicer to make your own fresh juice. There were some things missing or that could be improved on, the bar staff weren’t very helpful, we ordered food at the bar...
Stayed here for 2 nights with the girls for a girls weekend away. The hotel is beautiful and clean. We checked into our first room and the shower drain was clogged and water went everywhere in the bathroom - so we told the staff and they moved us into another room with no issue. We got the breakfast package deal and the buffet wasn't bad at all. Great location, staff and room. The drive from the hotel...
The ambience was lovely. Food was fresh and very generous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the high tea.

Perfect location for a weekend visiting wineries. Distillery, brewery, restaurants and cellar doors within walking distance (30 min max or so) Great set of shops right on your door step for some beautiful cheeses, chocolates and deli meats. Ihop picks you up right there if you’re using that service. Rooms were neat and tidy, spacious and the bathroom had a nice hot shower. Would 100% recommend and...
The service of Pokolbin Village Estate was fantastic. When we informed that we will be late, they found an alternative way to hand the key to us. The location of the Pokolbin Village Estate was easily accessible and right in the middle of all the vineyards. There is also a petting farm with Alpaca! In addition to the great location, we have to commend the reception service with their attentiveness...
We had 15 staying in the 2 houses joined by verandahs and could not have wished for better. Everything clean and very presentable. Wood for inside and outside fire, BBQ and plenty of wine glasses for the lovely wines available. Would highly recommend and will be back. Thank you Pokolbin.
Pokolbin Village Estate is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. There are plenty of options to eat within walking distance. The General Store has everything you need. Blaxlands Inn is a short safe walk for a beautiful wine and dine. It’s an easy point for pickup for wine tours. Absolutely loved it, highly recommend and will definitely be staying there again.
This was the first time we stayed here. Had a great time with family (6 adults + 2 children) We stayed at the Homestead. The bedrooms and bathroom was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of everything. Also loved the gas fireplace. Excellent location too. A 5 minute walk to Pokolbin Village to pick up a coffee or dine at a number of places. I didn't go to the Petting Zoo which was...
Staff were very welcoming, offering information about the area. The room was spotless, with all amenities as outlined when I made the booking. When checking in, I was told that my room was small. However, for a studio, it was perfectly fine. Centrally located to wineries and activities in the area. I purposely left a book behind and was contacted as to whether I wanted it posted back or given to charity...

Cute Villa. Has everything you need for a short stay in the Hunter Valley. Great communication from the owners. The Villa is clean and comfortable and set in a beautiful location.
Well what a gorgeous surprise to arrive at this super private quality accomodation. My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend away and stayed in a beautifully renovated Studio Villa. Awesome place to stay. The place we stayed in is stylishly appointed. Beautiful views across the gardens. Very convenient to the surrounding wineries. Leonie and Graham are perfect hosts. We will definately stay again.
We had a great stay at Chez Vous Villas in Pokolbin. Surroundings are amazing. Close to vineyards. The villa itself is a lovely French cottage with a spa. They also have an outdoor pool and horses. Highly recommend staying here as it is the perfect place to relax and explore the wineries near by. The owners are lovely welcoming people and we look forward to staying there again in the near future.
Stunning surroundings and cute, clean accommodation. Our unit was equipped with a spa which was great for relaxing after a long day. The bedroom on the first floor was nicely equipped. The owners are really kind and helpful. We will def. come back!

I would highly recommend Grange on Hermitage as it’s our go to when visiting the Hunter Valley. Nestled on a beautifully manicured property, the Lilly Pilly & Peppertree cottages are newly renovated with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with spa baths and the beds are like sleeping on a cloud! Only a short drive or stagger to the wineries and restaurants, this place is an ideal and perfect location to stay...
What an amazing experience! Just what my soul needed. Peaceful surroundings, comfortable beds and gorgeous nature. The location is central to all amenities. The accommodation was more than I expected. We were treated with such professionalism. I can't wait to come back.Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
Absolutely loved our little weekend away here. Such a beautiful property with all that you need. The wines were great and hospitality even better. Would recommend staying here to anyone.
Fantastic location - minutes from everywhere! Perfect spot to base your Hunter Valley exploration from.
A great place to stay at for a weekend. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nice parkland around. Good location. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
I've been eating to write a review a while now. My partner and I stayed here a few years ago. By far its the best accommodation we have stayed in the Hunter Valley. The rooms were a great size, very clean and comfortable. Every morning we had freshly baked muffins at our doorstep which we still talk about how delicious they were. I had booked for my partners birthday and due to driving up late after...

It was a beautiful experience, with such a lovely couple hosting the place, with so much love and care. It feels like home, with all the facilities provided to your needs. Just a place to sit, relax and enjoy, to get rid of your worries... Beautiful, serene, calm...
I stayed in the Hermitage room at Elfin Hill for a month while working harvest and doing research in the Hunter Valley. The hosts, Mark and Marie, are some of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. Their values of making guests feel at home and being as environmentally friendly as possible shone through in the meticulously maintained garden, the endless birdsong, and their warm and welcoming...
Beautiful location. Room was lovely and clean. Comfy Beds. The hot water was readily available at 9.30am. I loved everything. The next morning I enjoyed having eggs on toast with salad on the verandah overlooking the hills, gum trees and the birds. I will be returning very soon. Thanks so much for having me. Your Hospitality by you and the cleaners were outstanding.
This is a small family run accommodation business in a lovely quiet setting not far from everything in Pokolbin. Our room was recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed eating breakfast on our verandah overlooking the garden and countryside. The bed was comfortable and there was lots of hot water for showering. The room was not large but we had access to a large general...
This little BnB is packed with relaxing homely personality. Each rooms overlooks a gorgeous serene mountainous view. The bedrooms were large and the living room was very big. The courtyard and layout were exceptionally
The food was to perfection, each course was delicious and where best to eat it is in the grounds of Pepper Creek Estate. The atmosphere is relaxing and vibrant. There is plenty of staff who are very attentive. This is not 5 star but 10 star!
Our second visit here but 10 years apart.Great central location to all you want to do in the Valley. A group of 10 family and friends just this weekend had a fantastic time again. My only concerns are a group of 10 is catered for in the accommodation but only 4 coffee cups provided. Dining chairs need to be repaired or replaced as collapse is more likely to happen and injury occur. These issues need...
Its ok accomodation a little run down althpigh still comfortable, no cleaning equipment shower wasnt working, still a good atmosphere
Attended a wedding at Peppers Creek. Great atmosphere, food and service. Only negative was the flies biting me!

Rooms are clean but incredibly basic. Shower & toilet are in something like a plastic mould, very old, no towel rail (just hooks), no shower screen or curtain, so water goes all over the floor. The sink is separate, on the other side of the room. Road noise nearby. It served its purpose for a quick overnight stay (arrived at 10:30pm, left at 6:30am) but if staying longer I'd likely go elsewhere.
Great location, rooms were small but ok for size for one night, slept well room very dark and quiet and service at front of desk was great. A few things I found is they need to vacuum hallways, when showering the whole floor gets wet so bath mat wasn’t enough had to use bath towels and our bathroom door had no handle so a little tricky to close and toilet roll holder broken. We also feel it could...
Budget/basic was an accurate description. 1st air con didn't work so the very helpful staff member moved my room. Definitely no frills but clean and functional when all you want is to sleep
Extremely clean and smelt nice. The lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Easy drive to Hope estate where we were attending a concert. A few things could do with improving. The ladder to the top bunk was very different to use and dangerous. The rungs are too far apart and they a squared which hurt my dad's foot when he used it. He had to wear his boots to climb into bed. There was no...
It's a cheap hotel with basic amenities but the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. I'd go there again.
It is only an old F1 but it is very clean modern comfortable and the staff are brilliant. Best place to stop over on a long trip up the east coast of Australia.

Never been to the pub before, pleasantly surprised. Unable to provide a few dishes from there menu but otherwise really good food, pleasant staff & a good atmosphere.
Came here for dinner and drinks with friends after the revamp they have done. Food was amazing, had a Southern Fried chicken burger which on point and really good cost for what I got as well. Only part I would actually change about the burger is the pickle that was included - it was just held on top of the burger by a toothpick, would have seen this sliced properly and added to the burger itself
Edit : Has undergone a major renovation! Looks excellent. Staff are very friendly in bottle shop, restaurant and bar. Kids have a ball in the playground, which is pretty decent compared to most in the hunter. I love the restaurant specials, the locals are always a friendly and happy bunch. I'm always glad to go back time and time again.
Inexpensive hotel near the main road. Restaurant with tasty food for a reasonable price. Shopping markt and a small casino included. All the time lively operation. Pretty amazing.
Shortland Hotel Bistro is AMAZING!! Only 5mims from Jesmond, service is superb. Always so friendly & cheerful. My go-to place for a good old schnitty!
Went for lunch. Food was average pub food, not even good pub food, just average. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
