We were very happy with our room. There is a great steakhouse right next door that we also enjoyed withyout having to drive anywhere. Good value. Too bad the pool and hot tub were closed.
Affordable for the family, however some investment is long overdue for this location by the property owner. With newer buildings coming in place, this place is already out dated. You can see some things have been updated, however it's time for a rebuild. They had major issues with the door keys not working, drain spouts not connected, and the pool room is needing a new ceiling. I must say the morning...
The check-in process was smooth and quick. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is an older model with lots of stairs for the third-floor rooms. The room was clean but dated. Heating and cooling systems worked but again not efficiently as they are older. The location and views were great for access to the ocean. The breakfast was a nice surprise as there were several hot options...
Quaint, quiet and confidently located on the water's edge. Close proximity to the city centre. Friendly staff, who will go the extra mile so to speak for their guests. Property itself is quite dated and needs upgrading but meets the need for reasonable accommodations. On site pool and mini golf are nice perks.
Very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms and beds. Great location and an amazing free breakfast of everything from cereal to self made waffles, bacon scrambled eggs. We are traveling with our dog and had no problems. There is a surcharge for pets. We will stay here again.
Had a very nice stay at the hotel. Front desk staff were very friendly and informative. Did not expect a hot breakfast and it was great. The room was not in keeping with the appearance of the hotel. I would rate the room at a 10/10 - bed, shower, security, etc. were all above what I expected. I would rate the hotel appearance as an 8/10, it is a bit dated looking. All being said, great value...

Incredibly clean cabin! Beautiful views and peaceful. Well stocked kitchen and very comfortable. Wifi was great, bbq awesome and clean.
We stayed in the floating suites on the marina. These suite have a full kitchen and ambiance by the bucket full. They are clean with a large balcony. You can watch the boats come and go and see the fishermen clean their catch. The floating restaurant beside the suites was casual dining but with good food. I loved this place.
Love love this spot one of our favorites great fishing around beautiful little resort the service is amazing a gorgeous spot to get away and great fishing top notch dock/moor at a great price the rooms in the marina are beautiful highly recommend
I love Browns Bay, I have eaten at the Narrows Restaurant and participated in a number of their special events in the past few years. The service has been outstanding, the food top notch and everyone who works there is congenial and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Top RV campground, the best we have stayed in during our trip through BC and on vancouver island. Facilities are extremly good, a pitty we can't score a 6 out of 5. Moreover on our first day we saw 3 orca's, about 30 dolphins and a sea lion.
Ripple Rock is on the short list of the finest RV parks we've ever stayed at. The drive in may be long and fairly rough, but I didn't find it unreasonable with my 51-foot-long combination. The RV sites are a reasonable size, the location is simply incredible, and all of the facilities are high quality and immaculate. We extended our stay by one day and wished it could have been more - I could sit there...

These rooms have comfortable beds and all the channels I love. The only complaints I have are the cold draft on the bottom of the door, and the fact that this hotel isn't soundproof. I can hear the heaviest of feet upstairs. Other than that, we come back to a clean room and beds made. I'm happy!
Good value. Rooms were spacious and clean. Top marks for starting breakfast at 5am. This is great for those on business who have to start their day early. Almost no hotels or motels do this. That reason all by itself would be why I would come here again.
People are fantastic. Room is older, but cute and very clean. We had a little kitchenette which became home for awhile. By the river, so lovely, and a continental breakfast included.
Everything was great. The only annoyance was the cleaning lady knocking on the door at 9am on a Sunday. I will continue to book this hotel when I go to Campbell River.
We stayed here on 2 separate occasions. Once for 2 nights and then for 1 night. We booked kitchenette rooms both times. They were both large, clean and comfortable. I thought the price was very reasonable. I would stay here again if I ever return to Campbell River. Very clean, pleasant staff, love the grounds. Lots of grass for kids to play, beautiful wooden carvings on the property and a big BBQ for everyone to share. Room had two queen size beds and a kitchen. Continental breakfast was nice as well. There is a neighbourhood dog (Lucky) that came by everyday to say hi to everyone.

Looks great. Hardly wait! Simply no finer location and a storied history is at no charge. Take a walk. Let your senses enjoy anything but common. Celebrity gossip may whisper. I understand an ownership change may be in the offing. Their path seems smooth and the way very well marked. The only off note is seasonal openings which cannot be good for the recently restored or rebuilt buildings regardless...
We had a weekend we will never forget at the Painters Lodge. This is an absolutely stunning area with amazing sunrises and breathtaking sunsets. Our room was very large with a small fridge and even had a stone fireplace (no wood). Bathroom was good sized with everything we needed. Huge sundeck with ample seating. Continental breakfast with lots to choose from was included. We took a whale watching...
Great service at front desk, and in the pub. Restaurant was not open at all (must only be open in summer?). Breakfast was very nice with a good selection. Room was very clean, but tired. Bed was hard, upstairs loft floor squeaked, bathtub grout was in need of a good scrubbing, deck boards were spongy. When we asked for a bed topper, one was put on for us and the front desk agent said "we get that...
Beautiful place where you find back the old romance. Friendly service, food however very ordinary. Rooms old and not well maintained.
Have some brunch at the Painter's Lodge and take their water taxi over to April Point and treat yourself to some Spa treatment right on the water's edge. The restaurant on April Point is fabulous too. Both places have absolutely stunning settings!
Lovely hotel, right on the river. Was great to sit out and have breakfast / a beer in the evening and watch the world go by. Plenty of wildlife to be seen right from the decking of the restaurant we saw Golden Eagle, Seals, Canada Geese among other birds. Reception, restaurant waitress, and breakfast attendants are all so friendly. Rooms are bit dated, paid for king room oceanview and was disappointed that the view was more of the roof of the restaurant below. Cleanliness of room was good. Exceptional Stay at Coast Discovery Hotel - A True Gem in Campbell River. OK after reading some less than great reviews I would like to add my experience... (people can sure be sour sometimes?) The Young man and woman at the front desk Alvin and Sheena both provided exceptional service and especially...
We had a pleasant two night stay. Beds are comfy and I was pleased to find fluffy robes in the closet. The Dyson fan was a huge bonus, as we always sleep with a fan and my husband likes a lot of air movement. The staff were friendly and helpful. We are Coast members, so I asked if we could be upgraded to an ocean view room and my request was granted. I also made use of the workout centre. Hopefully...
Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent value for the price. We would definitely stay again if we are back in Campbell River for a night
I booked a room with 2 queen beds over the phone. This reservation was non-refundable. Upon arrival I was informed that there is no elevator. ok. When I finally found my room (the stairs are unmarked and 2 separate sets are needed to get to the 4th floor) my room was 2 double beds. Also the doors do not fully close behind you if you do not pull them shut, and i accidentally went out and left my room...

I always stay at the Anchor Inn when in Campbell River. The staff are friendly….the rooms are comfortable and you can’t beat the beautiful view. Nice dinner too.
Great waterfront view! Pleasant, helpful staff who offered to help with my bags when they noticed I was looking tired and sore from my travels. Nice comfortable and quiet room.
Went to the Pacific ballroom , 9am / 4pm. Lunch was served, coffee and water with orange juice. Pastries were available. They had tea and hot water, Soda pop . The view was awesome and we seen some killer whales go by. Service was great and friendly, smiling. Was a great day at a great place... only problem is leaving the parking lot up the big hill. Not enough paint on the road , people are driving...
This is a wonderful hotel, the staff are friendly helpful and accommodating the pub is nice and the food is good.. they have a nice pool large rooms it is a bit noisy if your on lower floors but the top floor is wonderful and quiet. I recommend staying here it is close to town and shopping.. The rooms on the top floor are themed and have large jacuzzi style tubs right in the room, how cool is that
I booked this hotel for my first work trip as the hotel that was hosting the conference was sold out for the night. Check in was easy, there was a friendly woman that greeted me. She told me all about the hotel and the amenities. Great service! My hotel room was perfect for me for the night, the roar of the ocean makes for a great background sound on a stormy night! The hotel is relatively quiet...
My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights this week and we were impressed with the friendly welcome at front desk and everything after that. Clean spacious comfortable rooms, friendly & helpful staff, good location, awesome family friendly continental breakfast ~ the only con was the hot tub was out of service.
Overall a great stay. Staff was absolutely amazing, hotel was super clean and modern and the breakfast was really good. Only downside is the lack of soundproofing between floors...I think there must have been elephants with insomnia above us😠 Would definitely stay there again though, but only on the top floor!
So happy with our stay here. Although a bit more pricy it was well worth it. Everything was super clean and the towles and sheets smelt so freah. Very happy with the hotel. Probably wont stay any where else when visiting Campbell River

Very clean. Very friendly staff. Breakfast times were not great and also not clear. Wonderful clean updated rooms. We loved looking at the ocean so close to the balcony. Four Cruise ships sailing by was amazing.
The best in Campbell River; a hidden gem! Ocean front rooms for a fraction of the regular cost. Incredibly clean. Staff are incredible. Admittedly, we came pretty early, hoping to check in. Although we were willing to wait for a couple of hours until the rooms were ready, the owner had them ready within 45 minutes. Our stay was phenomenal. This is a gem of a motel. It is right on the sea so you can see cruise ships and barges. The rooms are large and well equiped. I would recoment this place to anyone visiting Campbell River.
The view is amazing! The rooms are clean and have full service kitchens. A great spot for any visitor.
First, the good parts... You can't beat the view from the rooms. The bed was comfortable, mattress is quite soft. Fans provided air circulation and white noise as you are right beside the highway. I was only there to officiate at a wedding, so I only saw the banquet hall. And the outside of the cabins. Everything looked lovely and well cared for. Very cozy and right across from a gorgeous beach. Stunning setting!
For a close-to-home getaway, we chose Oyster Bay Resort, as we'd been there 10 years ago and wanted a dog friendly place. It's located between Courtenay and Campbell River. Absolutely gorgeous and quiet which was a pleasant surprise since it's beside the highway. We stayed 2 nights and will be back. The beds are soft, and the pillows plentiful so you can choose the type you like. The kitchen was well-stocked even though we only used the coffee bar area. The beach across the street is breathtaking and we enjoyed our late night walk along the water.
This place is awesome, each one comes with a cute little fire place, the beach is across the street and you may even get to see some wildlife! I definitely recommend staying here.

A very refreshing and satisfying stay! Not your typical "hotel" and it had a very at home feeling. The staff was super awesome, friendly, knowledgeable and informative. This hotel is right on an absolutely gorgeous beach that you can walk for hours. Literally steps to the ocean! Tons of sea life to explore and discover. The room was very clean and functional. Great, friendly service from all staff. Fantastic steam room! Not super soundproof and right off the highway so a bit noisy, but the beach right there makes it worth it. Would definitely stay again!

My partner and I have stayed at Ocean Resort several times in the off-season to go up to Mount Washington and it’s always a great stay! The staff of this family-owned and operated motel are super friendly and helpful and the rooms are really clean. The gentleman at front desk was absolutely awesome. He had one room left when we phone and he held it for us until we got there. And the last minute price with no reservation was awesome. We'll worth it. Room was absolutely immaculate. Private very relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone going thru town
It was actually very private amazing service we even got a late check out the only not so great thing was that the heater wasn't working although we weren't at the hotel when the manager or owner came to bring us a plug-in heater so for the second night it was very warm and no complaints whatsoever
Lovely stay, comfy beds and a nice quiet spot situated close a road and to a beautiful river (lots of fly fisherman). Rooms were clean but a little dated but non the less good for the price. Good WiFi able to stream YouTube.
Beautiful location preserves the old time charm. Needs a little TLC in the rooms but everything is clean. You get what you pay for with an excellent location.
Being next to the river was really nice and the outdoor area was great! Be advised that the restaurant at the hotel, which has great reviews online, has the same name but has drastically changed menus. Instead of a pub with burgers and beers it's a Japanese sushi place. I liked the size of the room. It was comfortable I did feel like the tv was too small for the size of room. It was hard to see the tv from the second bed. I liked that it didn’t take too long to heat up the room. Overall I was happy with my stay.
The room was clean, inexpensive & perfectly located, but the best part was that after we checked out and we were called minutes later alerting us to the fact that we left our AirPods in the room. Great service!
Love the view. The rooms are huge and super clean! Great price! Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony/walkway and cold adult beverage before supper. No AC but there is a fan and it cooled off nicely at night.

Surprisingly good! Stopped by here because it was the only place with vacancy for a decent price. Honestly, from the photos I was expecting a worse place. Nothing fancy, but a clean and warm stop for the night. Had a small fridge, and some complimentary coffee and tea.
Adequate lodging. Great to get off the road and out of the rain! Service was fine and prompt. Take note, despite reviews to contrary, there were no breakfast vouchers offered. An extra $10 for a small, quiet and clean dog. Clean room, but not super clean. There were multiple dark hairs in bathroom that were not ours. The toilet ran, but we fixed it. For $136, it was okay enough and close to Starbucks
A little dated, but overall it was fine. No air conditioning so beware on hot summer nights. These are relatively rare as the water is so near. This place is about $100 per night. $150 gives you a massive upgrade in terms of quality, but I guess it depends on how much you care about the money, and how much time you plan to spend in your room.

Honestly, I'm just very critical. The staff are very helpful. I enjoyed my stay there. The steps down to the ocean have seen some wear of the elements but made it down for some quiet contemplation watching the birds and then the boats in the far distance. Very serene location.
Stopped over for a night on Aug 9. Place had everything we were looking - great hosts, kitchenette, value for money and right next to the sea (took steps to the shore)
She's showing her age but she's clean. The kitchen is functional just. Access to beach via rickety stairs. Helpful friendly staff.Good value for money.
Nice motel for the price. Nothing fancy, the rooms are rather dated, but clean and comfortable if you need a place to lay your head for a night or two.
Had a wonderful stay! Room was very clean and there was a full kitchen. Quiet place. Nice rocky beach to walk around, just have to survive the stairs down lol. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in the area.
Decent motel with cute, cozy rooms. Has a full kitchen, the bathroom is nice, and the TV is a good size (although you can't really watch it from bed). The only way to get in the room is through a sliding glass door (patio style), which is a bit strange, but fine enough. The woman at the front desk is very nice and friendly. Apparently there's a nice beach beside the motel, but I didn't check it out...
