This place is DIRTY!! They definitely don’t change the sheets. I overheard the staff about them writing fake 5 star reviews just to get their ratings up. The older ladies that staff the restaurant are quite lovely however there is this one Indian girl who just does not care about you or your food and is straight up rude. The rooms are very outdated with furniture from the 70’s ( gross ) and I lifted up the couch cushions because my phone dropped in there and oh my. It was horrendous! Please don’t stay here. There are amazing hotels just up the road

I would like to share that I had lunch today at the Wells Gray Inn in Clearwater, BC.. I worked at this restaurant many years ago and it still has good food and staff that cares for the customer.. I had an awesome lunch ( fish and chips, coleslaw/ tarter sauce) with a long time friend today and it was very nice to sit and reminisce about the old times. Thank you for an awesome experience again.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside (painted grey and on a main road) and the corridors are warm and a bit dated, but as soon as you get into the room it all changes. The room was large, clean, and very well air conditioned. It's a great place to stay if you're passing through (we were travelling from Jasper to Vancouver)

Nice spacious room. Service was good. We were on the higwayside of the hotel though and had trouble sleeping. If the traffic was continuous we could have tuned it out but unfortunately you would be awakened by periodic large trucks. We turned on the quite loud AC unit hoping it would drown out the trucks but it didn't help as much as we hoped. The hotel would be just fine if they were able to upgrade the sound proofing. I'd request a room on the backside of the hotel if I stopped here again.

Two Star hotel. Two nights in a King Room. Parking outside of room with direct access as well as inside access. Room was clean, decent size, with some refurbishment. Bathroom was clean, tub, shower. Newer floor covering. King bed was comfortable. Other furniture dated. Hotel itself could use update. Not that sound proof. No microwave in room. No pool. No Hot Tub. Few plugs in room for charging electronics. Restaurant was very good and well patronized by the community. Good selection on menu with prices not unreasonable for the portions served. Attached Pub also well patronized, adequately staffed, with food from restaurant available. Overall good experience at Wells Gray Inn.

Food was amazing. The 'side' of onion rings is more like a main course! Rolling rock beer is the nicest I've had in Canada. Lovely staff. Local atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Great place to stop if visiting the area. Very affordable, clean rooms. The rooms are dated and show quite a bit of wear and tear but nice over all. Great restaurant. Super friendly staff. Only complaint is the paper thin walls. I heard everything going on outside, above me and in the hall, but that's to be expected of an older hotel. I really appreciated the convenience of the restaurant, bar and liquor store in the same building. I would definitely stay again.

I booked this place while on the road after reading the good reviews. I was disappointed. My room did not appear to have been actually cleaned, just tidied. There was a ring around the inside of the toilet and curly little hairs on the seat. I pulled the bedcovers down and there was the same type of curly little hair in the bed, along with a long hair. This was right during the height of COVID (was traveling for work), so out of paranoia I put a towel down on the pillowcase before going to bed. The towels did appear to be clean, thankfully! Also the full-length mirror in the room was broken, and there was garbage all over the stairwells! I want to say you get what you pay for, but at $150 for the night this place wasn’t any cheaper than anywhere else in the area. I’d recommend avoiding and driving to either Blue River or Kamloops if you can’t find anywhere else in Clearwater.
***Note: I didn’t try the restaurant, and the reviews about the restaurant seem to be glowing. I did see some cleaning staff disinfecting the doors as I left as well, so maybe that’s where they focus their cleaning priorities? Please don’t let this review deter you from trying the restaurant!

Front staff desk were exceptional. Rooms are dated but clean. The bed and pillows were very cozy. The highway noise was expected. However it was so noisy. It went until 11pm and started again at 4:30am. We knew it was from the room downstairs but never complained thinking they were awake to get on the road early, they were. The night before we put in a complaint and the wonderful gentleman at the front desk investigated immediately. The thing is, we should not be able to hear footsteps, conversations, and phones ringing from downstairs!!
The food. We ordered hot wings and a French onion soup to pick up at BackForty. The French onion soup had no broth, it was completely soaked up by the layers of bread in the soup container. Oh, the cheese wasn’t melted even sealed in the plastic “to go” container. We were told it might need to be reheated. It was inedible. I order onion soup quite often. This one ranks at the bottom of the list.
My husband liked the hot wings. It would be better with some ranch or blue cheese dressing however.
