Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre

This hotel is advertised as luxury and charges as such. The photos and website make it seem way more than it actually is. Nothing is as advertised. We stayed for 3 nights. The beds are the hardest hotel beds I have ever slept on. The pillows were also overstuffed and really hard on the neck. We didn't sleep good our entire stay :( The rooms are hardly soundproofed. We got a king room which both the room and bathroom were VERY small. No fan in bathroom (future mold issues?). Shampoo and conditioner provided is lowest quality you can get; bring/buy your own. Low quality TV with only a few channels. Air conditioning/heat either blew really hot or really cold with no in between (no digital custom settings like most hotels have). Covered parking is basically for the most expensive rooms, otherwise you have to walk all the way to the opposite side of the building. Steam room broken. Saturday night was all you can eat Japanese buffet/sushi for $44 per person which we were really excited about, only to be the most disappointing part of our entire stay. DO NOT waste your money! Sushi is not good or fresh. Potstickers and Tempura were good. Definitely not worth $44 per person. I wouldn't eat the sushi for free. Spoke with front desk about this and the lady went to speak with the manager who refused to do anything about it. Got told they would pass my comments along to the chef. Overall, feel ripped off and like this hotel doesn't care much for their customers. Front desk lady came off snarky upon checkout. One really good thing I can say about this hotel is that the breakfast here is PHENOMENAL!!! Seriously, one of the BEST breakfasts offered by a hotel! Such a generous and wide variety of breakfast options offered and so so good! We really looked forward to breakfast every morning of our stay. It was the one and only thing that did not disappoint. Will update if management decides to resolve any issues. "We can't find you in our system" will not be acceptable as my last name on Google is different, first name is the same. Have invoice and all further proof of stay if need be.

This is a nice hotel. Why did I rate it 2 stars? I was in a room just off the entry into GP. It was very noisy all night. There were trucks and loud cars coming to the stop light there and it kept waking me up. The sound barriers are poor. Get a room away from that road. Get a room ending in 13 or 11 or 9.

The rooms are great, the people nice, it is just noisy.

Second, the room next door had a phone and kept getting calls starting at 5 am. I could hear it like there was a paper barrier.

A very poor sleep. But otherwise the hotel is nice.
