The Champlain Waterfront Hotel, an Ascend Hotel Collection

While searching for a place to stay while attending a concert at Casino Rama I came upon this hotel. Much cheaper than the big chain places in town and the rooms are very modern and clean. The rooms were a little small and parking was limited right behind the hotel but the lot up the street had ample parking. Worth a stay if you want a nice place at a reasonable price.

Very minimal, but all that you need for a long weekend stay. Breakfast was more than sufficient for continental. Staff were very pleasant. Rooms and hotel were very clean. Parking could be an issue at times.

I really liked this little hotel, touch of class & cozy. Location is excellent. Loses one star for charging a DAILY pet fee of $25! I’ve been travelling with a pet for more than a decade & I’ve never had to pay more than a ONE TIME pet fee of $50 max. They didn’t come in & clean our room each day so I don’t understand the reason behind that other than it’s an excuse for cash grab. Other than that it was wonderful but I honestly won’t be back for that one reason, and for the fact that parking is a challenge.

Seems like it was recently renovated, front desk staff are super friendly, shuttle service to the casino is available for less than $12 return (on weekends, I believe) , rooms were small (what do you expect for an almost 100 year old hotel?) but very nice, room darkening blinds were great, blocked out all sounds and light, bathroom is very nice as well, my room had no tub but a shower, which didn't bother me one bit, note - extra towels are under the bathroom sink! Bed was comfortable, my room also had a small mini fridge as well, and a large flat screen. Everything looks like it's marble, very nice,most importantly, extremely CLEAN, looks like a small boutique hotel

I booked a room here for just one night, to stay after a concert at Casino Rama. Hadn't expected much, but was very pleasantly surprised. It's obviously recently renovated, and I'd say kudos to the interior designer: very nice room, with fancy and modern design, including the bathroom. The room is on a smaller side, but doesn't feel claustrophobic. Everything is in its place, very well thought through.
The only complaint I've got is about the noise: you can hear people walking and​ talking in the hallway, the cars in the street, and the AC/heater unit is quite loud. But when I mentioned this during the checkout they took notice and gave me a discount, which was very nice of them. No complaints whatsoever about the reception staff.

Great hotel, mix of modern and contemporary ambiance. Parking on site. Close to waterfront. Good breakfast in the morning. Very clean room.
