Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort
Parksville, 1155 Resort Drive 🧭 Map
My mom and I came here for a birthday celebration spa getaway and Tigh-Na-Mara did not disappoint. The rustic cabins were the real deal log cabins. We had a cute duplex with a full kitchen. The spa was very nice indeed, with a relaxing dip in the grotto pools, followed by a facial and then rest in the lounge area. We ate at Cedars restaurant which was a fine dining experience. I had the braised short...
I had a really amazing day at this spa as did my friends who had massages and would highly recommend this Spa. The mineral pools were lovely, it was clean, staff were very friendly and informative. Probably the best SPA EXPERIENCE I’ve had. 5 star for sure. They have a tree house lounge to visit while you are taking a break from the mineral pools or other spa treatments. There is also a restaurant...
A very enjoyable stay here, and the cabin style room was pleasantly large with lots of room for two families to share or one large family with a few kids! Expected a bit more of the resort for the price paid. Was a nice walk down to the beach, which is famous for its high and low tides, you can walk for what feels like forever in the sand!
I went here for a yoga retreat with friends. Beautiful resort with a lovely, but pricey, restaurant. Customer service wasn’t great and there was a long line to check-in and check-out. Plus they screwed up our group rates. The grotto is really nice. Packed, but nice. The spa services were okay… definitely just average compared to other spas I’ve been to. Very expensive too. The tapas event was fun...
Was at your resort on May 22, 23, and 24th with my daughters to celebrate my birthday. Thank you Cindy and staff for making my birthday a special day. Our cabin was beautiful and comfortable. The experience at the endless tapas bar was amazing and the food was so delicious. Our waiter Curtis was so efficient and knowledgeable. Our facial, mineral bath and hot tub very relaxing. Would certainly...
Welcoming staff is the start of your peaceful stay. Spa, miles of sandy beach, warm sea water. Cabins are comfy .Some with wood fireplaces so cabins are nice and cozy! Recommend for a min. 3 day stay.

Rooms are pretty but walls are paper thin, tons of kids were running around and we got woken up at 7am by screaming, crying and yelling in the room next to us. Not very relaxing. Also, one of the days we stay d we went to the hot tub and simply lost track of time (since cellphones and watches aren't a good idea around water). Instead of security letting us know the hot tub was now closed and to move...
Great location and great staff! Beverley and the full team made this a very memorable stay for us. Right from even prior to checking in they accommodated our room upgrade request. When we got there we had a great view of the water and a suite very close to the elevator which is perfect for a family with a young one like us. The suite itself was super clean and the resort has great facilities like the...
Great place to relax and enjoy the treasures of Vancouver Island! Comfortable rooms, beautiful location and courteous staff. Our 5 night stay was wonderful!
I really enjoyed my stay here. The resort staff were all very friendly and accommodating. It was incredibly relaxing. The grounds and facilities were all well kept and the rooms were spacious. The sunset views were amazing! I would definitely come back in the future. I did not eat at the restaurant, however we had a drink and it was a good time overall.
A great scenic spot! It was cozy and comfy, our interactions with the staff were friendly. A good place to unwind and enjoy a sunset, walk and hot tubs! We didn't eat here unfortunately, but the appearance of the restaurant looked nice.
Stunning sunsets, nice place to sleep, good walking paths and beach access. Not stroller friendly on the beach access paths. Use a baby carrier if you have your child with you. No A/C at our place of stay. Very humid in mid May at night. Nicely manicured gardens on site and pool. Hot tub didn't seem to be maintained well so we stayed away. Overall a nice place to stay for a few days. Close...

Really enjoyed our time there💞 Only wish the people upstairs were abit quieter, sounded like they were moving furniture around. Our studio was really nice! Will go back for sure💞 Staff were friendly and helpful! Perfect spot for a little get away 🌻🍷
Beautiful resort on the fabulous Rathtrevor beach, where the ocean retreats about a kilometre at low tide. Very expensive in the summer, but an amazing experience for families, especially with children. Get a beach unit if you can as it’s about ten seconds from your patio to the sand. Otherwise it’s five minutes straight downhill on foot.
Awesome resort. Friendly staff and unbeatable location. Book early. You are paying for the location, not for room quality. The units are comfortable and clean but you are there to spend time outside… keep that in mind. We have stayed here every summer for 16 years. Love it!
Great venue. Our second visit. Was surprised to learn however the one bedroom suites were way smaller, with less kitchen space than the studio unit we had last year. Wi Fi very intermittent. Unit views are magical.
Beautiful and satisfying experience at Madrona Beach Resort! We stayed in 16-A unit which we found spotless and very private, on arrival. Everything we needed was in the unit, all the pots and pans and utensils. We enjoyed our evenings sitting in the ocean view backyard with our propane fire pit , which we made sure was allowed. Weather was just perfect to watch the moonrise, at night, a truly surreal...

The room was decent. No patio and in the 200 block you don't get an ocean view but that's fine. Front end staff was very nice. There is a nice walk path to the beach. We live on the island and stayed for work. 2 only small issues is we didn't feel comfortable being asked to upload our ID on the early check-in app. It wasn't an issue though because we were able to check-in as normal. Second was the...
My husband and I just finished a 2 bedroom - 2 month winter stay at Sunrise Ridge Resort. We were more than pleased with the beautiful, well-maintained unit fully equipped with quality furnishings, and all the kitchen appliances and dishes you need to feel at home! The large, open living-kitchen area and outdoor patio with bbq were perfect for visiting friends ... the extra bedroom a real bonus for...
We stayed 1 night in 1 bedroom suite. We decided to have a staycation even we live 30 mins from hotel. Mark on reception was very polite, hospitable and professional. He explained us all the details, answered all questions, accommodate to the room with small electric fireplace, provided towels and bathrobes. He is exceptional. The room is great, enough room for everything. The floor was a little bit...
Great cabins, sweet views, friendly staff. Clean and comfortable and nice prices compared to other places. The resort is easy to get to, the buildings and view over the water are very nice; the only small drawback is that it isn't on the sandy beach. A group of friends wanted to meet up somewhere new and scanned the Island for a nice view. We discovered Sunrise Ridge and had a great time. The chalet...
Returned for another stay after last year's disaster (stomach flu for Christmas, hurray!). The pros and cons to be fully transparent: We tried a townhouse this time, they were overall fantastic! We forgot to grab the container of Christmas dinner leftovers, sorry to us and the housekeeping. Cons: the way the ground floor shower is positioned, in the middle of the tub, needs a shower curtain or something...

We have rented the beachfront cottage in 2013 and 2014. I love the location. In the morning when you wake up and have your coffee, you have an unobstructed view of the ocean—a beautiful place to stay.
Our two-bedroom beach level townhouse was perfect for the four of us. Clean and very comfortable, and we really enjoyed going to the Black Goose Inn for dinner and drinks! Great service and there are tons of activities and trails nearby for all to enjoy. Would highly recommend this place!
We spent 3 nights at the Beach Acres in June 2022. Amazing view from the "ocean view townhouse". The kitchen has pots and pans, coffee maker, cutlery, kitchen towels, dish soap, toaster and cutting board. The townhouse is very comfortable for at least 6 people. Inside the complex: playground, tenis court, basketball hoop, badminton court and swimming pool. The complex is clean and well maintained....
Always the best here. The grounds are amazing and it'd right on the ocean. I've stayed in Ocean front, ocean view and partial ocean view suits but never the forested cottages. The pub is very good and the food is very good. Come here with a partner or family and you'll have an amazing and fun time. We love walking the beach and bring our rubber boots to walk far out when the tide is low. You can walk...
Excellent place! The location is perfect right on Rathtrevor Beach and close to the trails that go up Englishman River. Situated right next to the Black Goose Inn for beverages or something to eat.
Great place for families or couples. Perfect for getting away from the big city. Units on the beach, or with views, or in the forest or in between with partial water views. The units in the forest and some of the partial water view units are detached units with a small yard and a bit more privacy, while the ones closer to the beach are semi-detached. The beach is very safe, with very gradual slope...

Cedar Song B and B, Errington, BC: On the recommendation of friends who have stayed at Cedar Song, we had a most peaceful, rich, and friendly visit over a four day stay at the B and B. The setting was quiet and natural in a rural forest in Errington (near Coombs and Parksville), replete with chickens, a garden, hummingbirds, and wild black rabbits. The B and B was immaculate and comfortably furnished...
Anneke had a warm and inviting presence. She was very welcoming and accommodating to my husband and I. We both felt comfortable and taken care of and the house was clean and had a vintage feel which I loved. The environment was so peaceful, we highly recommend this place!
Loved our stay here this past weekend, everything was beautiful, the food was some of the best I’ve ever had! Anneke was a delightful host, very sweet and kind, very knowledgeable about things to do nearby. She made this trip go from great to something we will be coming back to do every year. Also love the friendly chickens.
Cedar Song is a gem in the woods and Anneke is a wonderful host. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with attention to every detail. As cyclists, we found many wonderful cycling routes to fill our three days. It’s a close drive to Parksville, Coombs and Qualicum Beach all of which have a variety of coffee shops stores and restaurants. The garden and back deck is a peaceful place to sip on pre breakfast...
What a wonderful time we had at Cedar Song! We're actually local and were just looking for a quick getaway for a few nights. Despite living not far away, we truly felt like we escaped to a different world with the beautiful scenery, quiet woods, and beautiful home and rooms. And of course we were treated amazingly by the hosts Anneke & Jeff. They were so attentive to us and wowed us with their kindness...

Awesome local RV Park. Heather is top notch. Such a pleasure to see this kind of service still exists. Thank you Heather!
Wow a little piece of heaven in the woods. This resort is so well kept. The service is amazing. They are always offering help. Excellent wifi !! Safe and quiet with kind and considerate staff. Beautiful river with summer beach access right on the property !!
Super cozy place, tent sites are just next to the river (walk in). There is a small beach within the campground great for swimming in the river. Washrooms are well maintained and there are dishwashing sinks available.
I'm only giving this 3 stars because we had no wifi. We only had good wifi at the office. It was very frustrating I brought my laptop to get work done, and for kids to watch movies on an outdoor proje tor which I could not do in site 23. The river was beautiful for swimming. It had nice sand to sit on. The walk down and up from river wasn't too steep with the stairs. The campground is clean, and quiet...
We rented 4 cottages for a family gathering. The cottages were well equipped and very comfortable. The river is beautiful and our young grandchildren enjoyed playing in the river even though it was a bit cold. It was wonderful sitting around a campfire each night which was easy to do with being able to purchase the wood on site.

Clean and affordable. Desk staff was very helpful and friendly. He walked us to our room and showed us the courtyard where there’s lots of seating, propane fire pits, and a barbecue / food prep area. Great service. Popcorn and a smile on entry, accommodated the room change to bottom floor double even after they had customary bumped us up to a king on the second. Free mini putt, and hotel amenities and finally a 7pm front desk call to see if everything was up to par. 5 stars
We checked in and we’re met with a most gracious welcome at the desk. We were informed we had been upgraded! And that we had unlimited access to the best mini golf course we have seen. We had been to the mini golf course 25 years ago and stumbled upon it during our recent road trip once again. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this property. Our room was attractive and very comfortable. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were even invited to the 'end of season staff party' by Karim, the gracious manager. One of the best hotel experiences I have ever enjoyed. Top notch!!!
Upon check-in we were greeted by two outstanding women, Beth and Val, who made us fell very welcomed. They were so helpful with suggestions and directions on local attractions we felt as though we didn't miss out on anything. The outdoor amenities were so lovely it was like being in our own backyard. A beautiful smaller hotel right on the ocean in Parksville! We had a room on the ocean, beautiful views and so light and bright with comfortable beds. Everything was clean and fresh. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Gregory at the front desk. My only regret was that we only booked one night.
Perfect spot for our ladies' getaway. Really appreciated the big coffee mugs (hate paper cups and plastic is even worse.) And the real wine glasses too. It's the little details that make a big difference. Beds were very comfy. The Nespresso decaf coffee is the best I've ever had. The front desk staff were so friendly and nice. The restaurant for dinner was excellent. Overall, extremely good...
The staff were very friendly, We had an ocean view room that was amazing and loved waking up to the sound of the waves. The room was very clean and it was nice to see real coffee mugs and wine glasses instead of plastic. We had an excellent supper at their restaurant (scallop and prawn pasta and a short rib rigatoni. Both were very tasty and cooked perfectly.
This is a beautiful hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon check-in Gregory noticed a couple errors that the booking agent made and rectified them right away. We ended up with a much cheaper rate and an oceanfront room at no extra charge. Gregory even called the room once we were settled to make sure that we had everything we needed! Staff are amazing! Jack and Gregory have been so great helping to sort out how to get some items I left behind. Very accommodating for our fur baby to feel at home with a treat and bags upon arrival. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. This utilitarian hotel was popular with the kids, especially the pool and the breakfast. The decor is tired. I really appreciated the wonderful staff. Would stay again.
This hotel was a mixed bag of pros and cons. Pros: nice bedding, clean room, hot tub was great (I liked the jets!), pool was ok (a little shallow, but at least enough length to do some laps), staff willing to help, option to have the room cleaned, continental breakfast had a nice number of options (waffles, bagels, toast, eggs, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate). Cons: some...
Comfortable clean rooms with extras like keurig coffee maker, decent free breakfast, pleasant staff. Jacuzzi/pool a nice bonus but in need of maintenance (walls/drywall in bad shape). Overall excellent value.
Clean rooms friendly staff. Everything you need but not much more. This was my third time here-sadly all 3 times for deaths in the family. Staff was very accommodating- even upgraded us for free on top of the already discounted price we were offered. Last time we were here we rented their banquet room for the service. Again, staff was very helpful... Banquet room was clean. We had the use of as many...
Good price, nice front desk people, and a good location. The room was clean though of course dated in furnishings. Ample parking. The stairs up to second floor and walls in the hallway on the second floor were super grungy an definitely in need of cleaning. The breakfast room was big but super crowded at times. Breakfast was comparable to competition.
It has a great location and is quite quiet. Pool and hot tub with great jets to work on tired muscles. The owner and staff are good, not just an advertisement. The big thing is a real breakfast, fruit, bagels, yogurt, toast, cereal, coffee, tea, waffles and eggs. Not a cheap version of a continental breakfast. Parksville beach is the big thing, huge expanse of clean sand and clear water. Totally enjoyed...

I have stayed in 5 star hotels in Vancouver and this motel out does them by far. Maybe it's because the motel only has 10 rooms and the owners are more attentive to detail, but I found it to be CLEAN. So clean and cozy my husband and I and our German Shepherd came back to stay a second time during our Island trip. The couple who own it were so nice and friendly. Highly recommend!
Hands down THE best Motel I've ever stayed at! Immaculately clean, exceptionally comfortable and outstandingly well-appointed with every conceivable ammenity provided. Thank you so much Kerry & Stephanie for a wonderful (albeit short) stay. I will definitely be back!
Rooms are large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. The staff were excellent, and the location is great - lovely coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are also very quiet - cannot hear anything from your neighbours. Ample parking. 10/10
Stayed June of 2016, 2017 and just booked for 2018. Quiet, clean and extremely comfortable! Older building but well maintained, great coffee shop across the street and a short drive into downtown Parksville.

For the money it is hard to beat this location, the cleanliness of the place, but most of all the hospitality. The front desk manager took care of all our needs and requests, and did so with a smile. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. Also... pretty solid medium roast coffee in the am!
Hotel was good, clean and comfortable, coffee and tea supply very little in the room, towels we're not very adequate for adults. This is now a shelter for people waiting to get into stable housing and/or treatment although you would never know by looking at it. The place is gorgeous the only thing that made me sad was to see all the seniors living there because they had nowhere to go. Shame on us for allowing this to happen. High five to the amazing staff for doing a sensational job and being the first to do it. Congrats!
Had all we needed in our kitchenette room. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning and 5 minutes to the beach. The staff are all extremely pleasant and interested in making your stay comfy. Thanks guys. My dog was happy too.
I spent a month here. Clean, quiet, and a decent rate. Sonny and the staff are easy to deal with and they are out every morning making sure all is good. The sole complaint I have was the folks who love using their remote car door locks, and the regular jump scares you get from a car horn right outside your door. Other than that, a great place.
Honestly. it is just a place to stay a night for a decent price. The rooms lack lighting, as do many rooms at hotels and motels. The continental breakfast is nothing fancy whatsoever, but it beats having to go out to pay for breakfast. The locations is nice. You can easily walk down the the beach when you want.
