It was very clean, well equipped with cooking facilities. Amenities and a cozy atmosphere.

We visited San Josef Bay in early October and this was the closest dog-friendly place we could find in Port Hardy. The cabins are small but clean and well equiped. A few more hooks for hanging items and a couple more electrical outlets for charging devices would have been helpful. The service was outstanding and the location is perfect; close to town but not too close. Easy access on and off the highway. There's an estuary close by where we walked the dog each morning - beautiful.

Been staying in the cabins for over a year - every time I'm back at work. It is by far my first choice when staying in Port Hardy. My cabin is always clean, warm and inviting when I arrive. Each cabin comes equipped with it's own wi-fi and tv. Tracy and Pam are so accommodating! They have gone out of their way to ensure I enjoy my stay...every single time!! I love that they have good beds, with firm fluffy pillows and towels! The location is next to the estuary - on the edge of Port Hardy with access to multiple walking trails. The resort has gas bar-b-ques and utensils under a covered outdoor kitchen. There is playground equipment and laundry facilities on site. I always feel safe staying there, its home away from home. I would 100% recommend booking your stay here!

Can’t fault the service, but can fault the site itself.
We stayed in the RV spots, there is 0 privacy and it feels like you can’t breathe outside without someone hearing you or looking at you. If your idea of camping is seclusion and privacy, maybe consider someplace else.
The bathrooms were clean, but there is nowhere for you to plug in your hair dryer and in an already very wet place such as port hardy, this is a major miss.
We used the laundry facilities which was $5 in total to wash and dry your clothes. We unfortunately had to pay an extra $3 on top of that to run the dryer again, as it did not dry our clothes in the first run (and yes we only filled up the washing machine to the appropriate line).
Overall, this place was a pass for me. Broughton straight in Port McNeil is cheaper, offers a little bit more privacy and offers free hot showers.

No privacy at all and right on the highway. Rv sites are very close together as well as the cabins. It seems they may do long term rentals? The truck next to us was overflowing with trash which did not smell well. Only stayed because we got off the ferry very late. There's pull outs along the road that would have worked just fine...

Not sure how this is a "resort". Right next to the highway it is a row of little cabins and a small field with gravel and grass with trees only on the perimeter. RVs packed in no privacy at all. The $48 a night with tax is only worth it if you are getting off the ferry at midnight and need full hook-up. Backs up to a creek and wetlands area, so no paddling out of here. Will give the night clerk kudos for checking in the line of campers at midnight very quickly.

Very clean cabins with small but welcome kitchenette facilities (no stove but hotplate). Staff were super helpful and all the amenities including wifi worked perfectly. Lovely location at the estuary beside Port Hardy.

Best place to stay in Port Hardy, especially if you have children. The cabins are always clean, and they have a great mini kitchen! Excellent for long-term stays, not expensive, laundry, fish wash station, and they are pet friendly! Everyone here is extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful! I look forward every year to stay here, so does my son, he loves the playground there! It's nice being able to sit outside on the provided chairs and for the kids to be able to run a few feet to play. BEAUTIFUL views and love the covered pavilion that comes with a BBQ and fire pit. Close to town, the ferry, water taxi, sought after hiking spots, and wildlife all around. Loved hearing the Eagles! Will see you in a couple of months, thank you again for having us!

The perfect place to unwind after our long day of driving from Nanaimo and exploring Malcolm island. clean, good coffee, good wifi, and the charm of staying in a cozy log cabin. Excellent price too.
My only suggestion would be to turn the heat on in the cabins prior to guests arriving. Unfortunately the heat was off and it was very cold inside when we arrived and took a bit to warm up. 5 stars otherwise though, would definitely come back here.

First time visiting Port Hardy. Cabins are super cute, very clean, and wonderfully friendly staff. They told us about some places to check out in the area, and the drive up here was just beautiful. It's a nature's paradise up here. Not much in the towns but there is so much other stuff to explore. Grocery store is about a 10 minute drive from the cabins which come equipt with everything you need like towels, blankets, hot plate for cooking, utensils and plates etc. Great place if your looking to kick your feet up an relax or go hiking, fishing and more. I will definitely come back here again.
