Kwa'lilas Hotel

Nice room, clean, spacious. Bathroom is nice.The staff is friendly. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU'RE HUNGRY. THE SERVICE SUCKS. It took an hour before someone came to take our order. After waiting for 45 minutes for a bowl of soup, we left without eating. Call me spoiled but this is the worst experience I've ever had. Will never come back. I'm hoping this was a 1 off, but I will never know, and don't care.

Stayed here in December. Arrived to Port Hardy in a blackout and this hotel was not prepared besides for leaving small lanterns outside every door. None of the emergency lights worked, no generator for any part of the building.
- not even the sliding doors. They were literally checking in people by writing everyone’s credit card information on the same piece of printer paper which was really concerning. Overall the service was often rude (besides in the cafe and bar) and incompetent- for example my key kept not working over the 6 day stay and i’d have to go back to the front desk every time after trying to get in my room on the 3rd floor. When I tried to extend my stay by 3 days (mind you during off season) as I was in PH to be with my friend and support her family through the end of her life, the front desk initially told me that it would not be possible and that I’d have to make another reservation entirely. I began to argue as it made no sense and the manager or owner overhead and immediately apologized and reminded the attendant how to extend stays (especially because I had initially booked through the hotel and not through 3rd party which ensured it shouldn’t be a problem). Anyway - no apologies, discount or credit for a pretty rough long stay.
