The Algonquin Resort St. Andrews by-the-Sea, Autograph Collection
Saint Andrews, 184 Adolphus Street 🧭 Map
One of the best places to stay locally in Canada, particularly the east coast. Drove from Halifax to this place in about 4.5 hours. Drive was fine if you stay on highways the whole time. So that’s great.
Also, upon arrival you find yourself on a lovely resort which is very quaint but still luxurious. The hotel staff have a nice Scottish vibe with their kilted uniforms, and the other staff are dressed...
Beautiful castle architecture and furnishings. Service is very friendly, and room was very clean. Wish the AC worked better. Never got down low enough for us. Check in was slow, but we appreciated checking in early. Love the bikes for check out and e-bike and e-scooter options. Jacuzzi was way too hot--hotter than any I've been to ever! Garden terrace was beautiful. Laundry services are free for...
Extremely disappointed with our stay. Very poor value for the amount of money we spent for two nights.
Check-in was not available until 4 pm, so it was extremely busy with everyone checking in at the same time. There were workman in the lobby working with loud power tools. Impossible to hear the staff at the desk. Staff did not appear to be well trained.
The room was okay, but not great. The bathroom...
Stayed as a platinum member with a suite night award, and was upgraded to the executive suite. The room and view were amazing. This is definitely one of my favorite hotels I have stayed with. The hotel has a lot of character and the stories I've read about it are very interesting.
A handwritten note and chocolate was brought to us on the first night which we appreciated. We ate at the onsite restaurant...
This is a lovely resort, but needs a bit of updating. The staff is excellent! The carpet is tired, and the paint needs a little bit of help, but if that's what you're looking for in a hotel, go somewhere else. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, the location is fantastic, the views are exquisite, and it is an absolutely beautiful drive from St John to St Andrews. There are deer walking around, every...
This is a very nice hotel! Stayed here 2 weeks ago, we drove directly from Toronto and after a long 16-hr drive, it was very nice to be greeted by Alex at front-desk. He checked us in and explained all the amenities and activities the hotel offered. He gave a superb customer service.
Upon entering our room, we received a gift from housekeeping with a handwritten note. Our stay was indeed very memorable...

Kingsbrae Cottage Inn

The staff was great. The food superb. The freshly made scones and croissants over the top. Fun flavours of mimosas included at no charge. The location perfect. The suite all one could ever ask for! Will be back. I had a good laugh over one review complaining of everything. Some people are never happy. Laughed really hard. The staff were really nice and actually from there! Will be back.
My room was the Earl - my room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, a large sitting room and a private balcony which offered an outstanding view. The landscaping was specular. The staff was very obliging and did everything achievable to make my visit special. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. It is in good location which requires no driving with lots of activities in the area. A very...
This is a gem of a inn / B&B next door to a gem of a garden.
Kingsbrae Arms is a wonderful, small, beautifully appointed inn. The rooms are spacious and the decor is lovely. It feels like you are staying in a luxurious manor house in England. Many of the rooms seem to have balconies overlooking the inn's lovely garden.
Our room was on the ground floor, in the "stables" and it opened onto the garden...
We loved this B&B! It's completely charming from the staff to the decor to the gardens. It's beautifully appointed. The breakfast was delicious. It was pretty quiet as well. It's also well located, just a short walk to the waterfront and the shops.
It seemed like the people who worked there were very passionate about the place.
If we ever in Saint Andrews again, we'll be back!

The best Clubhouse ever! ( A light curry spread with avacado, etc.) Maritime Chowder was also most excellent.

Winsome Inn

I spent 1 night, I had really good experience, room was clean and cozy. Great price. Wifi available and they serve breakfast.
Location is also great, many big stores are at walking distance from the Motel.
This is a nice place and I am glad we stayed here. The room was clean and the owner was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and I would stay here again if in the area. Bed was very comfortable and the area was quiet! This was a pleasant surprise!
My mom and I arrived only to find out someone had cancelled our booking . It was booked through Expedia and I have never had a problem before. The lady at the front desk bent over backwards to accommodate my mom and I and we ended up getting upgraded at the same price . The room is super clean, has fridge and microwave and lawn chairs outside our room. We are close to everything in St. Stephen including...
Nice and clean, breakfast was good, got there late was glad it was open. The only complaint I have and was not the motels fault,a couple guys were running their ATV's up and down the street next to our room around 1:00 to 2:00 in the morning.

Tara Manor Inn
Saint Andrews, 559 Mowat Drive 🧭 Map
Beautiful spot, very friendly and helpful service. Nice rooms and clean. Unfortunately, one downside the rooms smelled very moldy. So I was disappointed, as I have very bad allergies and therefore, was not able to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Tara Manor and would gladly stay there again. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We visited during the off season so it was not crowded. It has a convenient location and is surrounded by nice grounds. In the evenings just before sunset and again in the mornings just after sunrise, we saw a herd of deer grazing majestically on the property. The only negative is that they...
Wonderful Manor in a relaxing environment. We spent one night in St Andrews here and we enjoyed our stay. The staff after super friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. Will come back next time I'm in town!
Breakfast was great in a nicely situated diningroom! Access to our room was unsafe and caused an accident to happen. Owners were very helpful. Location is not very far from down town St. Andrews and this makes it convenient for travellers.
Great place very nice and clean. Friendly owners and staff. Our room was very clean and large. Grounds were large. Saw deer while there.
Recently stayed there and loved the hotel, breakfast and location. It's a historic Inn so the work is ongoing to maintain it. New owners are super people who are a pleasure to deal with.

Scoodic Motel

This is a 2 star motel on Rte 170, with great hosts, service and cleanliness. No ice machine, but host was accommodating and brought us ice. Coffee is served in the lobby. Not sure there was food, but I didn't ask. Location is convenient to St. Stephens river. Check out the Picaroon Brewery at the 5 Kings Restaurant downtown. Right next to the Civic Center.
I usually don't bother writing reviews but this one is well deserved. The owner's were super friendly and accommodating. They even took the time to show me a couple of rooms to pick from first before they took my card for payment. The rooms are currently being tastefully renovated into a quaint little motel. I enjoyed my stay and especially appreciated that it was only a 10 minute drive to the U.S...
We booked a room the day beforehand for one night to have a break from the heat, as we'd been camping during an east coast trip. We were very pleased with the quality of our stay. The room was clean and cozy. The AC worked well! The staff were very friendly and welcoming! We would choose to stay again next time we pass through :)
This place is beyond my expectations. It is apparent the owners/staff took great care in making their budget motel clean, comfortable, and maintained. The facilities are well taken care of.
They were accommodating of a very late check-in.
We couldn’t have asked for more! We will be back when we pass through again.
They challenge the stereotype of budget motels and make travel more affordable and...
Very clean, cozy. Sallay is very friendly, called us back on a snow late night to save us time looking around. The only complain is that the water from the deep well is somehow smelly.
We drove afar to come enjoy a family wedding and the owners here were very complimentary! They went out of their way to ensure we'd have a pleasant stay; a swing set for kids was a lovely touch for my wondering children. Thank you SO much. See you again soon!!

I have this place for stars because they provide a much needed service to this community. Affordable housing is very scantily available in town and this place rents rooms by the month. The rooms have no tv but do have wifi and air conditioning. They rooms were clean and have comfortable beds. The owner (Linda) is a good person and very helpful.
Find out for yourself my husband is a verry smart man and can help you with anything the right way no government, no church as a people
Room was clean. Good night sleep. Nothing fancy but it was good for the price and few options around. If you go after 10 pm on a sunday to check in go up rhe stairs and knock on the door on the left.

This little gem in St. Andrews should be on your list of places to stay. Here's why: Walking distance to everything (downtown, Blockhouse, Algonquin etc), hosts have everything you forgot (shaver, wine cork, wine glasses, trail maps), electric car charger (at no extra charge), very clean and modern rooms, and the price can't be beat. All with a smile and cheer - the people in St.Andrews are all...
Don't let the low prices fool you, this motel is clean, well-equipped, comfortable, perfectly situated, and friendly. Small town kindness awaits you here. We forgot a few toiletries and a corks screw and the owners went out of their way to bring us what we needed. They even added a few other things to make our stay more pleasant. Can't wait to stay here again. We will be back! 5 bright stars!
The owners were very friendly and accommodating under busy conditions. They helped us with parking our trailer and setting up our bbq. Room was cozy and clean, lovely firm mattress. A short walk to the Block House and beach/ view of ocean and tides. Watch out for deer, they are casual residents roaming on the lawns.
Couldn't believe how cute and clean the room was. So comfortable and to be able to sit out under the trees and relax. As an early riser the chairs were dried and ready for me to enjoy my coffe. Did I say the room was extremely clean and service was unbelievable so nice and treated you like they knew you for years. I would stay again and have recommended this place already.
Such a lovely spot in a gorgeous little town! The rooms are spotless, have comfortable beds and everything you need. The staff is welcoming and very helpful. Love the seating under the old apple trees! Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Perfect!
Fantastic. It is adorable and immaculate. Well located with a helpful, friendly staff. I highly recommend.

Kitchenette very nice. Complete with nice wine glasses, water glasses, toaster, pans & skillets, everything you need to prepare and clean up after a meal.
Very easy to find and updated Motel. Rooms were nice and cozy and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and suited our needs :D. Owner was friendly and greeted us outside with our room number right away. Will stay again with pleasure.
I took the deluxe room with kitchen. I could see it was an old cottage that got renovated. The old cottage side was bringing was bringing a vacation vibe that remembered my childhood, and the renovated side was giving comfort and neatness. I enjoyed it.
Rooms were clean, adequate. A bit disappointed that we were charged more than the web-site posted. Also, first time I've been in a hotel/motel in Canada with no complimentary coffee or coffee-machine on site.
This motel was a hidden gem! We rented one of the family apartments for 2 nights and couldn't have been happier ☺️. There was a full size fridge and stove, as well as microwave toaster and coffee maker. The living room area was very cozy. The owner was so friendly and even gave...
It was fine for motel standards. They pretty much had the amenities you need in any stay, but the rooms are somewhat small and the shower was very small. I understand it is owned and run by a couple who do all the work and they are very nice, but some of the repairs are very DIY. It also could have been priced a little cheaper. Overall, it was a good stay; I went in expecting a motel and that's what...

Inn on Frederick
Saint Andrews, 58 Frederick 🧭 Map
Beautiful inn, with welcoming hosts. Tasty breakfast that was different each day of our 5 day stay. Stayed in the King Sized room on the ground floor, bed was super comfortable and the room featured a soaker tub that I used almost every night. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet “Gilmore Girl” experience (as mentioned in a review below).
By far THE best B&B we have experienced. In addition to the beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable room, we were treated to a delicious breakfast in a gorgeous dining room (with relaxing music being played while we ate). The owners treated us like GUESTS in their home, as opposed to simply "customers": the service was personable and welcoming.
I HIGHLY recommend this spot to anyone wishing...
The owner is super friendly and the inn is clean and neat. The included breakfast is excellent and you are only steps off the main street. I am looking forward to staying here again.
I cannot recommend this place enough! Not only is it beautiful (for those feeling like having a Gilmore Girl experience, this inn is comparable to the Dragonfly!), John and Esther were so nice, welcoming and accommodating. It's so beautiful, the hotel has a classic style, It is really a gem. Breakfast it's delicious, they do such a good job. The difference it's on the small details as the fancy bone china cups and silver ware. Location could not be better!
We stayed in a two bedroom suite, it had a musty smell. The hot water didn't work so we couldn't take a bath or shower. Breakfast was included with all the rooms except ours, I was hoping because of the hot water not working we would be included with the breakfast with the other guests, he gave us directions to another restaurant for breakfast! Anke, the innkeeper, is a beautiful woman on the inside and the outside. We have become good friends.
The rooms are beautiful, cozy and clean. Anke makes a delicious breakfast, which is included in your stay. It’s way more than a continental breakfast. If you need accommodations, make sure you stay at the end.
While looking for accommodations during a hastily planned vacation to what I thought would be downeast Maine, I stumbled upon the Deer Island Inn. Deer Island, located just across the USA/Canada border in the Bay of Fundy and easily accessible by ferry, turned out to be among the most beautiful and serene places I have visited. The Deer Island Inn is a lovely and thoughtfully restored 19th century...
