Best accommodations in the area. The staff will go out of their way to help you find what you need. Rooms are clean, spacious and come with coffee maker (Keurig) and fridge. The location is central to Shawi and the view of the river is always a bonus. This has been my go-to for the last several years. Kudos to the staff. Hope they’ll be around for many years to come.

Hotel is a bit dated but otherwise excellent - A good working space - Comfortable bed - a great shower - a restaurant on the premise. A great hotel if travelling for business.

Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and staff were friendly. The walls are thin and the floor shakes every time someone runs up or down the back stairs. Seems like a lot of sports teams stay there so you might get noisy neighbours. Furniture in the room needs repair. But overall it was fine. Breakfast was good.

Unfortunately this hotel is a little rundown, needs more upkeep and some love. Friendly service however...ok for a night or 2.

This place is not as nice as the photos posted by the company suggests. Beds are very firm, think plywood. My room smelt like dog urine after the deodorizer used when cleaning wore off (2 days), they allow pets at this hotel. There was an up-charge for everything, cot bed $10 a night, late check out $25 Plenty of parking available.

The room was spacious, with a private bathroom right next doors. The host is a very interesting man, who offers many complementary add-ons such as a delicious breakfast and a drink. Ultimatelly it was a very good experience for its value, and I'd definitely go back there again in the future.

Staying here was excellent. The room was absolutely fantastic and had everything we needed. Even though we stayed only one night, we wished we stayed here longer! The location is really close to the Parc de la Mauricie which makes it ideal for a nice retreat.

Great B&B, we had the Romeo and Juliet suite which had a balcony facing* the lake and a huge bathroom with bath. The hosts were welcoming and spoke excellent English. The highlight was an amazing breakfast in the conservatory. Probably the best breakfast I have had in a b&b.

Some issues though, one of the rooms had a large window with no curtain which made sleeping in impossible, and we also didn't have enough towels in that same room. The house is gorgeous. It is very artsy. Our room was good, the bed was comfortable. The best thing was Michelle’s gourmet breakfast. It was to die for. We stayed two nights and wished stayed more.

Thanks to Michèle and Jean-Louis for your sympathy and your generosity, it was a real pleasure. The cottage is a real haven of peace. The house is tastefully decorated, all the necessary equipment for a good stay is provided. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. We recommend with eyes closed!

The host is perfect! Breakfast alone is a must The room is large enough, the only small (but really small) negative point would be the sharing of the bathroom between the 3 rooms but everything is going very well. The house is very beautiful, and the exterior with the swimming pool and the terraces (outdoor and covered) allow you to read or have an aperitif in a magnificent setting.

The place is so beautiful and well maintained! The hosts who will welcome you are benevolent, generous and respectful of everyone! My fiancée and I spent two excellent nights in this gite. P.-Yves is extremely nice and helpful. Ideally located because close to the Mauricie National Park (its beautiful hikes and beautiful viewpoints), the cottage also offers the possibility of relaxing in the jacuzzi and having fun around a game of billiards 🎱. Go for it without hesitation!

Everything was amazing, from the kindness of the host and her recommendations, the home made breakfasts with local maple syrup, the cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom, and the stunning scenery outside! We rented the 3 bedrooms so we had the whole floor to ourselves and really felt at home!

We had a lovely stay The room was big and clean, same as the bathroom incl. shower We were served an awesome breakfast including french toast, fresh fruits, freshly pressed orange juice, homemade caramel cream, some organic maple syrup and a good coffee. Isabelle is very friendly and gives good advice (for the Mauricie Park in particular). The bedroom is welcoming and cozy, the shared bathroom is clean. The homemade breakfast is also very good (small compote and mini cake to start then exquisite French toast and fresh fruit)

Only reason there's not a 5 star here is the shared bathroom... But I've never seen a cleaner place. Good little breakfast and great service!

we found in the last minute that the park nearby did not allow dog, so we had to cancel the reservation in the last minute, the owner was so nice to allow us to cancel it for free.

Excellent service however had to remove a star since the pool was supposed to be heated and was not. Also, the booked room was supposed to have a jacuzzi but was in fact a regular bath with the look of a jacuzzi. Finally, no wardrobe or table to place our stuff.

We made an unexpected last-minute booking of the Oriental Room at the manor with Natacha, on our way to Mt Tremblant last month. This use to be one of my friends' house when I was a kid. I don't know how they decorated it, but remembering the house, I can imagine how nice it must be for a B&B.

Great camping if you want to kick back and relax. Well maintained bicycle paths. Many lovely parks and picnic areas. Great for paddle boarding or canoeing. Definitely dog friendly, and wait for it, free Wi-Fi, a rarity in Québec, and less we forget clean bathrooms.

I visit various urban parks regularly. This one does not compare with the ones I'm use to. Some of the hiking tracks are located directly by the busy road which are noisy and makes the trek stressful. There are pretty areas with attractions that make this park worth visiting.

Big park located on shawinigan QC. The shawinigan falls are definitely one place that you have to visit. There are also camping grounds, kayak and lots of trails. The river is beautiful and peaceful.

We rented the small motorboat for a day to see Shawinigan from the river. You can easily make it to the other end at Rapides des Hêtres and park the boat for a picnic in the shadow and swim. Didn’t see any public beaches nor toilets so be prepared. Fishing 🎣 didn’t end with any catch however it was +30C in the afternoon so not surprised. Price to rent the boat a full day is $120 and half day $70 so...

First time visiting this place and certainly won’t be our last! Martin was there to greet us on our arrival. We stayed in “Le Loup”! Nice little cottage, perfect for a getaway for two. The chalets are very nice however our chalet (mere-grand) had a lot of very large spiders (dock style spider) this made us very uncomfortable and did not enjoy our stay. The location isn't as remote as expected as its very close to a highway road. The chalets are well equipped and decorated beautifully and we enjoyed the hot tub but the spiders really ruined our stay.

Very nice rustic style chalet! It was cold when we arrived since the heating is with wood (which was not supplied with the rental...) but the rest of the stay was pleasant.
