Days Inn by Wyndham Thunder Bay North

Have stayed here a couple times now in the last 6 months. Rooms are basic but clean and staff are so friendly. We have always had a cheerful welcome when entering and well wishes upon leaving the breakfast area. The only reason I did not give 5 stars across the board is I find the cost is a bit high and each time we have visited, the pancake machine has not worked well and of course it’s my family’s favourite part of breakfast. Overall very good and would visit again.

This place is just as good as any up scale rooms. Cozy quiet and everything you need. Customer service was awesome and so was the room!!!

I very well enjoyed my stay! Went here for medical reason and staff was very nice and gave me anything I needed for my stay! Very recommend booking here if your needing to go to hospital appointments or surgery! Awesome staff.

4.5. I had to wait almost 10 minutes to check in but I liked the room so I score a higher than 4. The front desk clerk was very busy with telephone customers. The front desk clerk was patient and kind. I stayed in a nice business type room with French doors leading to bedroom. The room had a couch, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, desk, a large tv in main area, small tv in bedroom, a dining table, a roomy bathroom, lots of lighting. Very happy with the room, the neighbor next door - their toilet was noisy..thin walls? If you want quiet or you're a light sleeper, stay on 3rd floor or 2nd floor?
I won't try the free breakfast as I usually buy my own fruit veggies etc.
The view was of the hospital parking lot. Restaurants and coffee shops nearby, shopping area 8 minute drive away from hotel.
The shower bath fixtures look new, good water pressure. It included DOVE soap, shampoo, conditoner, lotion.
I would stay here again and next time I'd use the free fitness facilities.

Front desk staff were quite friendly and helped me fix my reservation. But don't take the google maps shortcut to the back of the hotel as there's a high fence and in winter it’s a massive snow dump. The hotel itself could use a little TLC. They offer very affordable medical rates and Lakehead rates as the hospital and university are both nearby. The breakfast area staff person is super friendly and helpful, really going above and beyond.

We checked in very late at night and had my 20 month old grandson with us. He was car sick so when we arrived at the hotel, We needed to tear his car seat apart and throw everything into a washing machine. The front desk gave us laundry soap since we weren't able to locate the vending machine that sold it. We were very impressed with the room. It was spacious and well laid out and very clean. The beds were very very comfortable and my husband and I had a great sleep.
Since our room was very close to the breakfast room, getting the continental breakfast was easy and everything else was super accessible for us. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast and I wish there was more choices but you could be adequately fed with what was there. The lady operating the breakfast room was very friendly and struck up conversations with various guests who had been there for a while. Everything was filled and kept very clean.
I found this location very handy for the hospital. I had multiple appointments and getting in-and-out of these appointments was quick and easy from this hotel. definitely something to consider when you are doing early morning or late night medical appointments at the TBRHSC.
The only thing I could say that could be improved is the snow clearance in the parking lot. There should be sidewalks to the side doors but there was a lot of snow making it a little more challenging to get in-and-out and to park.
I will definitely use this property again!
