Birch Haven by the Beach
Wasaga Beach, 119 29th Street North 🧭 Map
Table tennis, Skiing
Excellent location and very helpful staff! Also, the cottages seemed well sound proofed, we could hear the neighbours music when we were outside but nothing came through the walls when we wanted to sleep. Everything was well cleaned.
Very nice budget self catering accommodation with good but basic facilities very close to beach. Play area for kids. Friendly service and great value for money.
I was very pleased with my visit. Staff is extremely polite and accommodating. Rooms are definitely outdated but is perfect for that cottage feel. My biggest and only complaint is the bed was extremely uncomfortable, slept on the couch!
Always an awesome time! Very reasonable rates, clean cabins, BBQ at every cabin, nice big fire pit. The people here are really nice and go above and beyond. We stay here anytime we are in Wasaga. Super close to the water and all amenities, but not in the middle of all the commotion.
Had a great time. Nice quiet place. The nightly bonfires were nice, and the mgmt were nice to deal with. Constructive: the wifi was not good, but this was not a big deal. The fridge leaked water. There was a puddle in front. We were missing a BBQ which was eventually corrected. Shower stall leaked as well. Despite this, we had a wonderful time and would recommend a try.
My family come here every summer and we have the most wonderful time! The owner is such a kind person, the beach is not to far and there is a wonderful Polish deli and restaurant in the area, the owner is very kind! You have your own cabin with one or more bedrooms, there is a picnic table and grill for each cabin and playground for the young ones and a fire if you want to roast marshmallows or sausages...

Mountain Springs Resort
Blue Mountains, 796468 Grey Rd 19 🧭 Map
Not a typical hotel setup, separated into condos for rent, each with an individual owner. Nice layout but obviously due for some upgrades (which were in progress). Having an equipped kitchen was a huge savings.
We enjoyed our one night stay at Mountain Springs Resort. Our room, rented through airbnb was clean and well equipped. It was nice to have a pool available as well. We also dined at the Thai restaurant attached to the resort which served authentic Thai food and was a nice option from the restaurants in the village.
For a family of 5 the room wasn't bad, but the pull out couch was a bit small for 3 kids we ended up making a make-shift bed for our 3 year old. The place was clean when we got there however there is a weird moldy smell. They also had a pool but be careful if you have small kids as it goes from shallow to deep with no gradual transition, there is a hot tub which was nice as well.
The kitchen has a...
My third time renting one of these condos. They are nice, quaint and semi affordable. Nice kitchen. The only thing there always seems to be something little that's wrong but it's annoying. Example burned out light bulbs... Balcony door jammed... Tub plug nor working. Maintenance needs to do more thorough checks.
Beautiful place to stay but they shut the hot tub down too early

Horseshoe Resort
Barrie, 1101 Horseshoe Valley Road 🧭 Map
Five Star Crown Ski Resort. The best of the best. We experienced everything: ski equipment rental, all lifts and ski hills, restaurants, hotel, play room for kids, pool, gym, there is also a spa, and plenty more activities to do and have fun. Service everywhere is excellent. All personnel/ staff are kind, nice helpful. I can't wait to come back. Thank you everyone here.
Horseshoe Resorts and Inn is a beautiful place to visit not only in summers but also in winters. I visited the resort with a group of friends and it was so much fun. They offer food services and the staff is really hospitable. We stayed there for 2 nights 3 days where we did the snow tubing and enjoyed thoroughly. There are also skiing and rope way facilities amongst other fun activities to do. The...
I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here.. however we did use the tubing amenities.. what a fun time! We went on a Thursday in the evening and we were literally the only 11 people there! The staff was super friendly and fun.. they took time with our kids asking them if they wanted to be spun before going down the hills.. they workers were all relatively young and all fantastic! My only complaint...
Found the room to be clean. Broken bathroom light was promptly fixed. Restaurant staff at both restaurants were pleasant. However, if you ask for a later check out time or anything extra it is promptly refused. I would say that this is an adequate motel experience, not a resort experience. So charging the premium resort price is just not justified in my opinion.
We rented two rooms for a friend's bachelor party. We intended to have the units for a place to stay overnight and to just hangout after a busy day and to allow us to be close to treetop trekking the next day. My wife and I have stayed at Horseshoe resort on multiple occasions and have loved our stay. This time, the rooms were great and the staff was mostly accommodating and professional. However,...
Nice resort and a great learning hill. No ski lockers or valet though so you are carry all your gear to and from the hill. Also, once at the main lodge, there is nowhere to store your non-skiing gear except for an unsupervised room with some tables and chairs. Most people just seem to leave their bags on tables in the upstairs cafeteria. Tubing hill was great. The Inn was very nice and comfy.

My best friend and I rented a room for a funeral of my Dad. The lady at front desk (Jane) was AMAZING. To allow us ability to get ready for the funeral, she upgraded our room with an earlier check in. She also gave us a beautiful little keepsake in memory of funeral. We can't say enough good about the experience! Room was lovely and clean. All staff was friendly. Great breakfast options (though...
We have stayed at this inn several times over the past few years. The rooms are spacious. The staff are very accommodating. The free breakfast is quite good. The location is terrific.
However the cigarette butts scattered near the entrance is not a good look. Picture attached. We mentioned it in passing to the front desk but 2 days later when we checked out nothing had been done about it. It won't...
The rooms are fine, but do need a refresh. The beds are very soft, the water pressure is horrible. The water dribbles out of the faucet and shower, and the shower makes a horrible noise. There was roof leakage due to heavy rainfall in areas of the hotel. The service was the highlight of the stay, everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good as well. Location was reasonable, close...
We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit older but everything is in good condition and well maintained.
The saltwater pool is nice, the hot tub was not available while we were there (daily room rate was discounted because of this).
We loved the breakfast. The location is great, right off the highway. We stayed here to go tubing and skiing at Snow...
It is located on a hill in the town. It is directly off the highway, so access is not bad. There is a large supermarket nearby, so it was convenient. The room felt quite spacious for one person. The inside was clean, so I have no complaints. I recommend this hotel when you come to Barrie.
The associate were very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the breakfast.
