Drexel`s Parkhotel am Schloss

Very quiet and pleasant hotel with wonderful staff. The restaurant was amazing, during my stay there were only young staff who created a special light atmosphere and worked very professionally. The food was always perfect and the young chefs were very friendly and always brought culinary delights. The desserts offered were amazing visually and above all in taste. The cocktails offered were also amazing. I want to come back here as soon as possible. Thank you for the pleasant hours, friendliness and delicious food and drinks!

Very nice room (suite) with view of the moated castle. The room is wonderfully clean and the hotel is recently renovated. Very friendly staff. The food in the restaurant is inexpensive and very tasty. There are large portions. And there are delicious cocktails. Very good!

I was in Krumbach for a 4 day business trip and chose Drexels for my stay. Didn’t regret it a second. The village is small, but nice and the hotel is situated very close to the center. The room was very spacious, clean, with modern furniture. Bathroom with everything you need. Beds with perfect matresses. Maybe the window was just a little small, but at daytime the light flooded well the room, so no problem with that.

The village is very charming . It respects the german culture through its architecture . The perfection of the landscapes reveals the discipline and the diligent that german people have !

We liked everything about the hotel. Spacious clean rooms, nice parking, nice location (center and by a pretty park). Nice restaurant at the hotel. Great breakfast and was good value.

We stayed for 1 night before visiting Legoland (25 min away). The town was charming and even had a nice hike in the forest nearby.

The Drexel Hotel in Krumbach, where my family and I stayed for ten days, is a budget to mid-range hotel which offers some outstanding features and has much to recommend it. Firstly I shall dispose of my mini-gripes: as is common in Germany, the rooms had no tea or coffee making facilities in the bedrooms, the restaurant was closed on Mondays, there was no dedicated bar area, or sitting room.

Cleanliness: Having stayed in hotels throughout Europe and the US I have never experienced such high standards of cleanliness. Each day, when returning to our rooms, it was to find the bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate: absolutely pristine. The cleaning was faultless.

Breakfast: There was a wide choice of foods available and they were plentiful. The tables were always spotless and the staff on hand if help were ever needed.

Restaurant: The meals in the restaurant were a particular highlight. The choice was wide enough to suit every taste, but not so wide that the kitchen staff was unable to focus on the quality of individual dishes. The standard of cooking was exemplary and a meal at Drexel could always be recommended. For a non-German speaker the waitresses patient and knowledgeable assistance with the menu was particularly helpful.

Hotel Staff: With one rather odd exception the hotel staff members were all extremely helpful, friendly, polite and went out out of their way to make our stay in Krumbach a delight. Indeed, when my grandson was rushed to hospital they could neither have done more nor been more considerate. The restaurant manager was something of an oddity. For those from the UK he is Bavaria’s answer to Basil Fawlty. His combination of obsequiousness and officiousness with an obsession with napkins origami would be comic were it not for the overbearing arrogance and disrespect with which he treated his staff. I doubt they share the joke.

Now that our daughter is living in Krumbach we look forward to staying at the Drexel hotel in future.

Very friendly and courteous staff, clean rooms with good facilities and very modern, but very noisy. Breakfast offers many things. Easy to get to and from. Gladly again :)
