⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly perfect stay at Hotel Kolb on Langeoog
We stayed at Hotel Kolb on the beautiful island of Langeoog from December 28, 2025, to January 4, 2026, and were absolutely delighted.
Our room was extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished. The half-board option deserves special mention; it left nothing to be desired.
The breakfast buffet was exceptionally varied, fresh, and beautifully presented. The daily four-course dinner was a culinary highlight every time—varied, creative, and superbly prepared. The high quality of the cuisine is clearly evident.
Special praise goes to the service staff, who were consistently attentive, warm, and professional. We would particularly like to thank Vu, Lan, and Snijana. They performed their duties with heart and soul and ensured that we always felt welcome and exceptionally well cared for.
The bar area also deserves the highest praise, as it was run with friendliness, charm, and great dedication. Likewise, the reception staff fulfilled all our requests quickly, easily, and with great friendliness.
Hotel Kolb is a place where hospitality is truly lived. We felt completely at ease from the first day to the last and will most certainly return.

We stayed at the Kolb Classic for four days before Christmas. We lacked nothing; the rooms were very clean and tidy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The spa area is in the neighboring building, which wasn't a problem at all; we felt very comfortable there and spent several hours relaxing.

Why am I writing this review?
From an upscale hotel, I expect to be asked upon departure and payment whether everything was satisfactory. But if I, as a guest, am not given the opportunity to raise any criticisms, then I'll have to find another platform for that.
The good news first:
The (very few German-speaking) staff in the breakfast room and restaurant are particularly friendly, very helpful, and accommodating! The breakfast is plentiful and has everything you need for a good start to the day. The four-course dinner menu was upscale, very tasty, and perfectly reasonable in price.
The rooms are nicely furnished and the mattresses are great. I particularly liked the separate wardrobe/dressing room with plenty of space.
Now for the less pleasant things:
The liquid soap in the bathroom was already empty upon arrival and wasn't refilled for the entire three days. Cobwebs and "dirty corners" were littered throughout the entire bathroom, including live spiders. The fans in the windowless bathroom by the shower and toilet are not working. The bathroom floor hadn't been mopped once the entire time.
In the sauna area, in the women's shower, one shower head is broken and the other is no longer height-adjustable, and the soap is also empty. Furthermore, the door in the 90° sauna is incorrectly adjusted and can no longer be closed properly, causing cold air to constantly flow into the sauna. The entire wellness area feels dated.
The small pool apparently used to have a counter-current system that no longer works. So, swimming is now limited to four strokes in one direction and back again.
Unfortunately, at breakfast on any of the days we weren't informed (neither verbally nor with a small sign on the table) that we could have ordered egg dishes. We only saw it by chance on the last day at the next table.
Conclusion: You can - but you don't have to.

We had a great week at the Hotel Kolb. The suite was well-equipped, and the hotel's location was good and quiet.
We stayed in the neighboring building, the Lifestyle, which also houses the sauna and indoor pool. Unfortunately, the hotel had technical difficulties during our visit, which meant that neither the lights nor the heating in the indoor pool worked properly. The saunas, on the other hand, were decent and, in my opinion, numerous.
The breakfast was good and had everything you need; the only downside was that there were no decent cereal bowls.
The staff tried very hard, but there were language barriers here and there, which made some situations a bit difficult.
The same applies to our evening visit to the restaurant; the team still needs to find their feet in terms of coordination and communication, but overall, it was okay.
Conclusion: Solid, with room for improvement.

Das Zimmer war außergewöhnlich eingerichtet, das Frühstück sehr umfangreich und lecker.
Die Lage war, trotz zur Straße liegend, gut abgeschirmt und ruhig.

The restaurant was fantastic! A small but nice menu.
Scallops and fish were cooked excellently. A suitable menu has also been very courteously put together for the vegans. And the service was very friendly.
So far the best restaurant on the island!

A free cancellation due to the tightening of the Corona rules (warning level 3, Christmas rest, Omnicron etc.) is not granted here, 5 weeks before the start of the trip, as a gesture of goodwill! Nobody can do anything for the situation, unfortunately one has a very stupid feeling here that economic reasons are given higher priority than anything else. Bad self-promotion. We won't come back to Corona either.

Good: Comfortable sauna area, tastefully furnished rooms, good kitchen.
Can be improved: no storage space for the bike, bathroom door does not close (sliding glass doors look chic, but do not close)
