Landhotel Alte Muhle

We (family with 3 children) have spent a week of our summer holiday in the Old mill. The Hotel turned out to be on the Internet quite well and we arrived full of expectations. The Old mill itself is a bit secluded, but quiet in a beautiful landscape. We had a very nice room (three rooms + bathroom with WC) with a view of the Ried. However, the room was more suitable for families with two instead of three children, since a child is accommodated on a sofa bed in the living room. This is quite unfortunate, as the Sofa is very uncomfortable and the other is the living room after the Bedtime of the children for the parents is no longer usable. The same applies to the small balcony of the living room accessible. For five people, also the bathroom with toilet is quite small sized. In spite of everything, the room was clean, the beds were made every day and the towels, if desired, changed daily.
Also, the Breakfast buffet, who is quite good and it was for every taste there is a sufficient offer, especially with the very tasty tea from a reputable tea house.
In contrast to the Breakfast buffet, the dinner was. Starting from the on the Homepage available on the normal menu, we were looking forward to an appropriate selection of tasty food. We had booked half Board, we only can advise you not to, because in the evening there was a menu card from which we were able to choose between soup or salad from the Buffet and then between a fish, meat or vegetraischen court. The offered dishes were not listed on the regular menu and the quality is unfortunately rather on a lower cafeteria level - a great pity. Here arose from the impression that the HP host is saved. Also during Dessert, we were a couple of times, amazed by the combination (Red berry compote with strawberry ice cream ? - you would expect rather vanilla), or simply the mini version of a Viennetta - it remained easy to get to the end of impression of the finished products. We can think of the house only recommend about this concept and to confront this kitchen. The price performance ratio is not right even here; this statement, we are vague, because we got here for the same price recently in Austria (it is known to be more expensive than Germany), different and significantly better.
From the friendliness of the staff, it fits in the old mill on the other hand.
The location itself depends on the your holiday ideas. If you want to enjoy the peace and seclusion of the Rieds to be sure, is right. Who would like to more often to the lake of Constance has to take a journey of 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, another note, who wants no dogs in the dining room at Breakfast, should avoid the Hotel as this is tolerated here. Certainly an incentive for dog owners. For people with pet Allergy unfortunately a "no go"!
Finally, we hope for the future on a positive development of the Old mill, since the whole ambience could offer more, than what we learn.
