Years back, I hit this place upon a bicycle tour. I have been starting at Hamburg, went up the Elbe towards Dresden. The rumor about a dam trail still exists... On most places it is even not allowed to ride on the dam. Understand: you may destroy this sensitive construction. Here I had a night. Nice and safe place. Friendly and helpful staff. Moderate prices. Good local food and drinks. It's Germany...

Those who do not expect too much will be satisfied here. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and have everything you need in terms of equipment, but they are not overly nicely furnished. Breakfast is included in the price, but the selection was limited and the bread a bit hard. The wifi worked on the cell phone, but could not be connected to the laptop. Absolutely okay for a stopover!

This is not a regular hotel. It is like someone's home. Very comfy and cozy. Breakfast is superb and lovely! The host are super friendly. No shampoo and conditioner though...

It was so lovely to receive such a warm welcome from Wolfgang after a long day on a bicycle with my friends. Wonderful accommodation, beautiful breakfast, gorgeous garden. Wolfgang became the gold standard against which we rated all of our hosts for our 4 week cycle tour in Europe. Highly teccommend.

For camping traveller's it is fine place, Elbe driver flows nearby, pitches are big and campsite sanitary facitilies are good. Wittenberg is almost within walking distance.

The location is accessible by car and bicycle. This is a great location for campers and cycling tourists. Check in is very strange, it was as if we were expected but as part of a larger group. Fortunately there were some English speakers workings at the hotel really helped. Towels were provided but aside from a great smelling handsoap, no toiletries were provided. Great accommodation, even greater staff. We were very nicely helped and the lady at the reception went out of her way to accommodate for us! An ideal stop for the R1 cyclists!

Great breakfast but noisy We loved our trip to Wittenburg which was a beautiful little town on the Elbe. This hotel was conveniently located, and the breakfast was great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time, only because the rooms were small and it was noisy next to the train tracks and main road and people would stand outside talking and smoking so it was hard to sleep with the window open

The staff was helpful but the hotel never left the 80's. Of real concern was a fire alarm on our first night there, total confusion and the fire department never did arrive. It's a good hotel for a night or two but it appears to be mostly for transient workers now. Again the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Good location next to the main tourist attractions. No air conditioning in the rooms and would have come in handy. We had trouble communicating with the reception desk the first night (our German is not the best) and the hotel staff made little effort to help the situation. Good breakfast.

Booked a las minute single room in the Tourism Office. The room was comfy and very clean. The lady in the front desk was very friendly. Breakfast was also good. The neighborhood is nice, a lot of street art around.

Great location in the heart of Wittenberg, just steps from the all the major Luther sights. Our room was basic but functional with a comfortable bed, large desk, and plenty of natural light. The bathroom was clean and practical. Everything was well maintained. A solid value for travelers prioritizing location and cleanliness over luxury.

We had a very nice stay. The room was a little too small for a Business (3 level higher than the basic one), but it was VERY clean. The hotel is in a great location with a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were clean, though there was no air conditioning and the WiFi in the rooms was practically non-existent. On the plus side, the extensive buffet breakfast was excellent.

An absolutely stunning place to stay! The room was decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and had good air condition, which was important at that time of year. The food in the restaurant opposite was of great quality, and a bonus point for stocking my favourite wheat beer! I will 100% return next time I am working in Leipzig.

This is unique lodging, where the famous painter Lucas Cranach, lived and had his workshop in the time of Martin Luther. Despite its age (and charm), the beverage has all the desirable modern amenities. As I said the Tobias, the friendly, efficient and helpful person at reception, our only regret is not staying longer.

We had a very interesting stay at Cranach Hermitage. We loved its historical significance and how it has been so beautifully restored. Their customer service was first class and provided tons of helpful local information. We had a two bedroom, one bathroom suite which was spacious and elegant as well as private and quiet. Utterly charming historic location with delicious breakfast. Excellent experience!

The biggest advantage is that the hotel bathroom window opens wide. It is not far from tourist attractions such as the Wittenberg Castle Church, and is an overall decent hotel. When using the parking lot, it is very inconvenient to push and pull the heavy, sooty iron bar and lock it.

I am in the middle of my stay at this hotel-pension, and I have been favorably impressed with everything so far. Lovely little place to stay when you are visiting Wittenberg. Close to the centre of town, yet very quit and peacefull. The only downsides are no balconies nor parking spaces. Parking in town is cheap, though.

Had an overnight stay at Hotel Schwarzer. Staff were very helpful and professional. They allowed us to keep our luggage in storage even before checking in. (It would have been cumbersome to lug them all over the place.) It is a little historical town that is good for daily visits. There are some museums and beautiful buildings that you can check out and learn about historical figures & events. Even though I visited this place in August, it was really quiet and there weren’t a lot of tourists. Throughout the town you can find shops and cafes. This Hotel was very nice; the service was very friendly, our room was huge (60m2), the breakfest was delicious. Not to mention that this house was build in gotic times, has a Renaissance staircase and also a king of sweden lived there once. And its vis a vis the famous church where Martin Luther posted his 95 thesis

Very good option for a stay in Wittenberg. Quiet location, safe parking opportunities on the street around the hotel. Essential room, but large and convenient. We employed automated checkin since we arrived late. They sent us messages with simple instructions to get the key from a dispenser outside the hotel, very nice. Gorgeous breakfast.

A ship mill is a mill, what used to be a ship mill. Now there is a guesthouse or a hotel chain or a great place to eat and drink here, where you can eat your fill or become a meeting place. This was the perfect choice for our wedding location. I normally don't do 5Star but this location was exceptional. A highly professional, friendly, smart team, that was able to deliver a perfect service. All of our wedding guests gave a perfect feedback. Came here for a wedding from SF, room is a little sparse and hot but very comfortable. Family friendly and great staff made for an amazing party. Do yourself a favor and rent a bike from the hotel and do the loop to Grimma with the ferry, one of the highlights of my entire trip was that bike ride (bike was nice and well maintained).

Very nice location for small to large events, from weddings to family celebrations, workshops, dance. Almost anything can take place here. The hotel rooms are tastefully and modernly furnished. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff is super nice and also adheres to the hygiene regulations.

If you value a special ambience and don't want to stay in the "08/15 Hotel", the Piesteritzer Hof is the right place for you! Beautifully located in a historic settlement about 10 minutes by bike from the center, a friendly and appealing room and, last but not least, friendly staff and a very committed, open and courteous boss.
