Mas Salvi Country Boutique Hotel in Pals

This hotel is advertised as a place for "rest and rejuvenation" but when we were there they had rented the space out to a 150+ person event with a DJ until 1:30am. It was absolutely crazy. The layout of the hotel means that all our rooms were close to the recreation area where the party was taking place. We were given no warning before or after booking. Many other guests were complaining, like me, at 1am at reception when we were all supposed to be enjoying a quiet and restful night at a spa hotel. There is only one reason to book an event that would so obviously create such disruptive noise at what is advertised as a place for peace and quiet: greed. This hotel chooses profit over its guests comfort, and is willing to ruin their holidays so that they can take advantage of the huge pay from a big party. Disgraceful.

Had high expectations for this hotel as the photos looked beautiful - quite disappointed unfortunately:
- positives: gorgeous location, outdoor spaces are very beautiful, building is even more beautiful than on the photos; the rooms have large and good beds (2x2m at least)
- negatives: we reserved a large suite in order to have enough space for us and our 2yo, suite was large indeed, but we didn’t sleep the entire night, all noice from the hotel seemed to resonate in our room, very poor sound insulation, other than that the furniture was old and shabby, not what you’d expect for a 4* hotel, terrace was dirty, no hot water in the shower, soap dispensers were cheap bulk soap you find in gas stations (in 4* hotel you’d expect at least some nice soaps and creams); we complained and moved to a different smaller room (but must say still quite spacious), although the room was quiet, it all still felt very old and outdated, our shower wasn’t working (they repaired it the day after), the furniture was old, there were mould stains in the bathroom, overall dirty shabby feeling of the bathroom etc.; overall staff was not friendly or helpful (with the exception of one or two pool bar waiters); we tested the pool bar restaurant and the hotel restaurant and both were disappointing, poor quality, unfriendly staff, salt was served in little bags (Mc Donald’s style) again in a 4* hotel you would expect some proper salt dispensers on the tables; when you order lunch at the pool, dirty plates are cleaned away only the day after, so you spend the day with dirty plates and glasses piling up, unless you clean up yourself; upon arrival nobody offered any help with moving our bags from the car to the room, 4 people were chatting at reception desk while my husband past by them 3 times carrying heavy luggage with no one offering help.
Overall very disappointing experience, the hotel probably was great and modern some 10y-20y ago, but is definitely in need of a freshen-up and of an overall change in staff and attitude.
We won’t be back.

Awful service, not worthy. Bad service with the great hotel they have.careful, with the bookings, they might cancel them. Would not recommended, rather go to Mas de Torrent. It is a shame, it is a very good and nice country hotel but not well organized

Used to be 1st class new owners manager never there does not give staff any authority to please customers problems. Was very dirty whole place needs déep clean. Short staff and untrained. Only one old staff who was great on reception . Booked breakfast but was told had not , there was know internet and know sigh of it being fixed. Know one to help with luggage and all uphill and with my 81 year old mum. The reception could not help and was powerless to. The manager sent a message saying was two busy to speak to me as was running 2 hotels . In my option she was not running one as was never at mas salvi. Most of the guests whete complaing and 3 groups checked out in the morning I left. I left after 2 nights and was charged full price which was a disgrace not even 20 % of . I would not recommend this hotel to anybody is a disgrace.

Nice room and dinner but terrible administration/reception. Our room was apparently not booked correctly (directly, not via booking.com), I had to ‘proove’ by my bank account that I had payed in advance and then extra 90 euro’s was asked (which I refused). Only a very little “sorry” after 40minutes check-out.
