Hotel & Spa Castillo de Peñíscola in Peniscola

I stayed here with my daughter and we had a great time. The bed was amazing, the room quiet and it always smelled good. The pool is refreshing, breakfast was very good. The surrounding area was also very nice with shops and quaint little streets on the peninsula. Good beach, beautiful water. All in all we liked our stay and I would recommend the hotel.

The best hotel in Peñiscola and I speak with knowledge of almost all of them...a 10 in everything.

The location of this property is excellent in walking distance of beach sightseeing and shops and restaurants can’t fault it and would definitely be coming back

Great side view of the castle and the bay. Breakfast was really good once I realized the chef could make us fresh omelettes.

Excellent hotel. Very pleasant rooms. It is important to take the balcony. The food in the morning brakfest is excellent. The location of the hotel is excellent. It's a shame it doesn't have parking and it's a shame there's no kettle to make coffee or tea in the room. The staff is very pleasant and helpful

The hotel is in a great location, just opposite the beach, and is the best choice for watching the sunrise early in the morning. The hotel is new, the room is clean, there is no refrigerator or kettle, maybe it's cold at the beach. There is an underground parking lot opposite, and it feels like it's okay to park on the roadside. I forgot to buy breakfast the day before, but when I bought it the next day, it was still given to me at the booked price, which was very nice

Location is great, right next to the old town, great sea views, superb customer service and staff, and especially awesome food if you book half/full-board, which I totally recommend! I don't tend to be a full-board person as I usually prefer to explore the area looking for local food, and hotel food is usually not the greatest, but this property offers great food quality and variety for a very reasonable price, totally worth it! Would come back again for sure.

Agree with all the reviews: The hotel is modern styled, very clean, good food, good bed, great location. We really enjoyed it!

Also agree on the negative points: gym and/or spa €25 per person per entry, very small "bathroom", no extra bed for our son but two big beds next to eachother, very small balcony without privacy and with uncomfortable chairs.

But we have had a negative experience with the service. Before we arrived we asked where we could park best, since we stayed here for 8 days. They replied that we could park in the street, blue zone for €6.35 per day. When we arrived we asked again where exactly to park. The woman behind the desk said parking in the street was free now. She said also we could see that the parking payment machines were closed. I double checked "In the blue zone?", the anwer was Yes. So we parked there and after a few days checked our car: we had fines for €80. It can happen that she was somehow wrong, but the biggest disappointment was the reaction of the staff when we told our story... No sorry or any other way of compensating us for their mistake 😢 And, we needed to park again somewhere else. The staff showed on the map what was free for sure. When we arrived there, there was a big sign "parking max 24 hrs"... So we parked the car further away where Google maps says that it's free 😬
