Where to stay in Ivalo

A nice motel with a great location on the river, friendly staff, very good breakfast, and fair price. Popular cafe, free parking, complementary sleds were nice. Definitely needs bathroom upgrades and room investment. How about tour information and ice skating on the river or hotel adjacent?

I dined here one evening, meals were cooked to perfection, staff very friendly and welcoming, highly recommended for a warm, pleasant atmosphere and good food :⁠-⁠)

Nice hotel and nice its restaurant. Some rooms are old. Poor cleaning service. Poor maintenance as a bathroom without working lights was left like that because nobody could fix it. Two days without hairdryer, no linen were changed in 6 nights, no tea, coffee and sugar replacement neither. Reception staff ok.

What a wonderful stay! Personal were excellent and were very helpful. They even supported us with an issue we had with a tour we had book (not via the hotel). We booked the room with the private sauna 😌 was so nice! We had lunch there on our last day and it was 👌 I really recommend this hotel. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful.

The food here is really good ... carb-loaded for the weather but delicious. Try the reindeer borscht, and the salmon in rye bread with veg risotto is also really good!

This was such an amazing experience and the staff were beyond spectacular. My wife and I spent a long weekend here and experienced as much as we could during our short visit. The food alone was divine and we would gladly come here again. Sadly we weren't lucky enough to see the lights during our stay but we still met some great people and made some unforgettable memories.

What a little paradise this place is! I am so glad I found this gem. The perfect location by lake Inari - pristine nature, peace and totally quiet. No Wifi in the rooms which is nice, because people gather in the lounge area of the restaurant by the fire. This gives you the chance for nice conversations and making new friends. Lake Inari Aurora Hut is absolutely gorgeous! You are staying on a lake in a glass hut surrounded by a beautiful nature. A truly unique experience. I cannot recommend the hotel enough - our hut was great, staff is super attentive, all the activities organised by the hotel are superb. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience with high quality staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is magical, middle of nowhere near the frozen lake and forest. 5 star to all organization with activities and spa. Rooms are very cosy and you really feel you’re in Lapland. Food was excellent. Would love to come again.

We were there in wintertime and it was amazing. The houses are very cute and clean. It is nice that you have your own doorstep. We had a nice tiny house experience. The park is simple but nice and on walking distance from the centre of Ivalo. The owners are happy to answer all your questions. We booked their husky-, snowmobile- and aurora safari. Good place for overnight stay with your tent or caravan. Far away from the main road, so no noise during night time. Available services in tent area: WC, Shower, Small kitchen (w/o fridge), electricity available only in caravan parking

Super cute place with good breakfast. All basic comforts are available and you can plan your activities at the location itself (if you are unsure of online booking)

Warm and friendly hosts in a beautiful setting. We couldn't believe how warm the rooms were considering it was reaching -15 outside. It's about a 30 minute walk into Ivalo village where there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat lunch. Dinner though is best eaten in the restaurant at the holiday centre. Excellent place. Me and my wife visited this place during January and enjoyed a lot. Was lucky enough to witness some exceptionally good and colorful northern lights right from our cottage.

Great experience on a 4-hour husky tour at this family-operated farm. They really take care of the huskies and know what they’re doing and it’s a lot of fun. You get the full time on the tour and you’re really in the wilderness (no snowmobile in the lead as some companies apparently use).

The staffs are very friendly and patient in replying all the questions and they are happy to share their knowledge. We attend the 4 hours husky safari and it was one of the most unforgettable activities I have ever had. It was easy to learn how to ride the sledge and the dogs are super energetic. Definitely book your stay! This cozy guesthouse is so unique with the huskies a few steps away from the front door. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, tucked away in the snowy forest, with big windows to enjoy the view with a cup of tea. Firstly, the reception was very kind, she assisted us with the thermal suit, gloves and winter boots making sure we had worn them correctly and had the right size. Very friendly host. I went at the wrong time, they haven't open business yet, but very patiently explained and introduced husky info to us. I definitely will visit and stay in this guest house next time.

Spectacular rooms and the meals are great. 3 course dinners generally. Buffet style breakfast including continental. The rooms are cosy and warm with lovely panoramic view of the sky. Good amenities. All round great experience and staff were very friendly!

This place is FANTASTIC. Wonderful location (7 minutes from airport, drove 20 minutes and saw amazing northern light), super comfortable and clean, very kind owners that went out of their way to make our trip special. We can't wait to come back- thank you Matti!

Easy to access. Cottages are quite primitive. Service building is new and well functioning. New and more modern cottages are being built in the area.

The hotel needs to be renovated, furniture and equipment is very old. Poor breakfast without taste. In sauna no hairdryer and no blankets or bathrobe. On the other side the hotel has perfect position, dinner ala card is good and the hotel is perfectly clean with all available activities.

Can not say enough good things about this place. The staff was so helpful. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel with saunas, pool, jacuzzi and a bar. The view from dinning room is astonishing. During the stay the view was all snow white and that was wonderful. Definitely a good place to stay.
