Guest House «Giellajohka»

Fantastic location right at the river.

Our trip lasted several weeks, but this was the only location we stayed for more than one night.

The food exceeded our expectations: very delicious reindeer kebab (and vegan option).

Hope we will be able to visit again during the winter.

If we weren't living several thousand kilometers away, I would probably be a regular at the restaurant.

A super nice place, and very nice hosts, I can highly recommend.

Our review is a bit late, as we stayed at Giellajohka in March 2022 for our wedding. We had a wonderful time in this peaceful, unique place in the middle of the wilderness. While we were there we enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, and we took 2 extra unique excursions of ice-fishing and reindeer day which we’ll treasure forever. The family were so friendly and accommodating, and came up with good ideas for our wedding day which we happily accepted and made the day even more perfect. Eating in the restaurant was always a treat with the varied local menus, and the company of Miuku and Onni (friendly cat and dog). The cottage where we stayed (Taiga) was very modern and comfortable with great views over the frozen river. We were lucky to observe the Northern Lights on several nights during our stay. We look forward to visiting again, next time perhaps seeing what it is like in summer. Highly recommended!

We were on the road on our way to Nordkapp and we wanted to have some breakfast, we saw this place and it was our best decision.
Wonderful place, amazing home made food and with a really nice staff working .
If you need a stop, no doubt, this is the place!!!!

We stayed for a week. Great food, cabin and staff. I’m in love with this place!! Lots of vegan food options too.

Highly recommend! Best place to see Aurora and also it’s free!! Had 2 nights stay at this lovely place, surrounded by wilderness and clear from pollution. The staffs were friendly & they have an adorable dog named Onni.

Very gut cottage? ideal for familly if you go in kappnord is a gud stop . Anita is happy woman and shes a ambasador finland spirit ? sorry for my english
