Hotel Saint Nicolas

We got lucky finding this place. What a superbly run establishment. Wonderful location, be sure to book parking, but once you are there, everything is walkable. We chose the cosy rooms which are small but so very comfortable, the best bed in France yet! All the team were excellent, all spoke either English or Spanish and could not have been more helpful. Could not recommend highly enough, a new favourite.

It is a wonderful hotel in the middle of town and close to everything.
As soon as you walk through the front door, you can feel that you are in a different place. The atmosphere is zen and it gives you a feeling that this is a good place.
The decor throughout the building is relaxing, nothing austantatious, just helps one to relax.
The atrium is part of the dining area. The outdoors is brought inside without the weather, and again, it is very relaxing.
The rooms are nice and comfortable.
The breakfast was complete and tasty. Scrambled eggs with bacon done to perfection and beans. Mmmmmmy, loved those beans. Corn bread and pancakes and croissants and jams and...... there is something for everybody.
The staff was very friendly and helpful

As a family of four travelling to several destinations in the region this was a very pleasant stay at the end of ten days. We were welcomed warmly and we’re able (luckily) to park in the hotel car park after enquiring on arrival. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful.

The boutique hotel designs created a unique feel to the interior, our room was spotless and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. The location for all restaurants and sights was just perfect!

location was excellent - only a short stroll to the old town and waterfront. We left apair of sunglasses behind in the romm and the hotel very kindly posted them on to us. Great service, would definitely recommend and will stay again. Thanks

We really enjoyed our stay at the Saint-Nicolas. For us the hotel was a perfect place to discover the city, the restaurants and musea. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here for three nights in September 2024. Very comfortable premium rooms (our had a 180cm bed and a single). Very efficient AC in the rooms. Very good baby cot provided for free. Very good breakfast with many options. I would have preferred a small fridge in the room. Staff were nice, in particular Lucia and Neil were very friendly and provided excellent restaurant tips in the area that work well for families. The parking spots at the hotel do run out (so make sure not to come to late). Many parking spots are also quite tight if you have a big car. Neil was very helpful in helping us park one night when we came back from a daytrip to Île-de-Ré.

Don't judge a book by its cover, as they say. Who really needs a picturesque hotel exterior given 100% in every other respect?
Great for cyclists (and cars). A feast of a breakfast. Rooms with everything you need (quiet & effective aircon), 2am bar. 24hr reception & room service. Excellent value for money for a central hotel.
Although there is a cycle storage room, you'll probably find it more convenient to keep bikes in a dedicated area at the foot of steps from the underground car park to the breakfast room.

Located in the Saint Nicolas quarter of La Rochelle, 5 min walk from the harbour it is in an ideal location to enjoy the bars and restaurants. On site parking, very friendly staff, we have always had a lovely stay. Access via the new one way system can cause issues and can sometimes require a telephone call to the hotel reception to get them to lower the barrier.

Well located hotel in quartier St Nicolas. Access to restaurants and the port 1 minute away. Hotel has a fee-paying parking. Staff is very nice. Room was fine, the bedding/pillows/mattress could have been better
