Koukoumi Vegan Boutique Hotel in Ano Mera

It was an absolutely dreamy stay at the hotel. The booking went smoothly. We received the necessary information in a timely manner. The staff on site was always very friendly, warm, and helpful. Everything was always impeccably clean and tidy. The food is a vegan dream. If possible, definitely book the tasting menu, it is absolutely recommended and a taste experience. 100% likelihood of repetition.

We love this intimate and wonderful vegan hotel. The food is absolutely fabulous, the pool area is heavenly, and the staff is warm and gracious. In addition, the decor is so tasteful and sophisticated yet understated - and the bedding is the most comfortable I have ever experienced. The entire island is easily accessible with a car. We look forward to our next stay!

We spent 6 wonderful nights at the Koukoumi Vegan Hotel and absolutely loved our stay. The morning yoga sessions with Alexis were a highlight—his gentle spirit, intuitive flow, and kind nature set the perfect tone for each day.

After yoga, we enjoyed the incredible breakfast buffet: completely plant-based, beautifully varied, and consistently delicious. The food quality was exceptional throughout our stay.

The entire team at Koukoumi was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our room was always at a pleasant temperature, and the bed was so comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud.

Whether you’re vegan or simply curious about a more compassionate, sustainable, and health-conscious way to travel, I highly recommend Koukoumi. It’s a little slice of peaceful paradise.

We had an incredible stay in Koukoumi. The staff were so welcoming and we even got a room upgrade. The food was incredible and we’re sad we didn’t get to try it all. The summer rolls, “fried egg” and breakfast buffet were particular highlights. We loved the laid-back vibe and peacefulness of this place, even in the height of summer. It is quite far from other places on the island, so you will need transfers if you want to go anywhere. But if you’re looking for a place to stay for a few days r&r and to eat some amazing vegan food, just stay at the hotel - no need to go anywhere else! It’s incredible.

Our stay at Koukoumi Hotel was fantastic. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. They have a great pride in the hotel and its mission. The all vegan menu is absolutely worth the stay by itself. We were provided with organic, wholesome dishes that were an artwork in themselves.
The wonderful healthy food was complemented by the fitness and wellness amenities, which included a fully equipped gym available throughout the whole day, a pool and complementary Yoga sessions by the delightful Alex.

Such a special hotel! We felt relaxed and pampered from the minute we arrived. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing break and all of the facilities were great and felt very luxurious! The food was phenomenal and we were blown away by how good it was from our first meal at lunch when we arrived, you could really tell how much care and attention had gone into each dish. While staying there we signed on to the cooking course, which we did with Anna. It was such a great and interesting experience, Anna shared lots of her knowledge with us and we left very excited to use the recipes she shared back home! The location of the hotel is very good, very close and easy to get to the airport and old town by taxi. There is also a beach 20 mins walk away, which was very pleasant.

My husband and I had the most incredible stay at Koukoumi Hotel in Mykonos. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the warmth and kindness of the entire team, and it truly became the slice of peace we so desperately needed. A special mention has to go to our friend, Alex, the exceptional yoga instructor. His generosity with his time, wisdom, and warmth was beyond anything we could have hoped for. As I recover from chronic illness, he carefully guided me, ensuring I could support my body in a way that felt gentle and healing. Morning yoga with Alex quickly became the highlight of my day – his presence was a true gift, and I already miss those peaceful sessions in the yoga studio. The restaurant and bar staff went above and beyond, ensuring my dietary needs were met with care and precision. Their attention made us feel welcome and cared for. The chefs – wow! The food was artfully presented and absolutely delicious – I’ve never tasted anything like it. A huge thank you to the massage therapist, whose healing hands and wise words gave me so much to reflect on. She encouraged me to seek joy and release stress, which resonated deeply. The reception staff made sure we had everything we needed, making us feel truly at home. A final shoutout to Mike, who led an amazing sound healing session before we left. It was a journey of sound, scents, and emotions—an unforgettable experience. Koukoumi is a haven, and every moment was pure bliss. We left tearful and extremely grateful.

To start with the positives, the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Even in the months leading up to our stay, they were responsive in helping coordinate our visit and transfers to/from the port. The room is beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The outdoor pool and dining spaces were also peaceful and inviting. Regarding the food, everything was flavorful and thoughtfully crafted, and our waiter for dinner was quite knowledgeable about the entire menu. As traveling vegans, we’re grateful to have found a fully vegan hotel where we could enjoy several meals during our stay on Mykonos.

I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars, however there were a few shortcomings:
1. The food service was incredibly slow, as others have noted. We had dinner our first night at the hotel and it was nearly a 2.5 hour ordeal. While I understand they are trying to create an experience, dinner should not take that long to prepare or serve. It deterred us from having dinner again at the hotel.
2. Our breakfast order was completely forgotten one morning. After placing our order and waiting 50 minutes, I followed up with the waitress as she was beginning to take the buffet down only to have her apologize and tell us the kitchen “ran out of paper” and our breakfast order was forgotten about. I have never had this happen to me before even at much less sophisticated and pricey restaurants and hotels. This was frustrating and disappointing. Another review from a year ago reported the same thing, drink orders not even being started after 40 min. Apparently these service feedback loops have still not been fixed.
3. Portions are small for what you pay. The food is expensive however the dinner and lunch portions are quite small.
4. I paid extra for the executive suite because of its private balcony, but it was fully concrete without any cushions (shown in photo attached) as advertised in online photos and featured no other furniture, which made it an uncomfortable place to spend much time.

Overall there were many positives of our stay at Koukoumi, and it met our needs even if there were shortcomings.

Being at Koukoumi is the most amazing experience, the hotel is just beautiful and filled with love, we met so many inspiring and wonderful people! We started the days with yoga and meditation, relaxed at the pool and enjoyed the incredibly good and healthy meals.
So thank you Koukoumi for this amazing experience, I’ll be forever grateful for the memories created at this beautiful place that are going to warm my heart in cold Berlin winters. We absolutely plan on coming back!

Beautiful spacious rooms. Perfect gym - best one I saw in the hotel ever so far. The same goes for breakfast buffet. Nice but slow service. My breakfast a la carte never arrived after 30min I had to leave for the airport. Dinner is bit too complicated - trying to be too fancy. Portions too small. Dessert way too sweet. Lunch menu is great. Restaurant hours are too strict. The same goes for gym. I understand pool is closed for dinner hours but gym could be open 24/7. Expensive. Overall would come back if ever back on the island. Location next to main road.
