Reviews
Sadly, it didn't meet the expectations for a 5 star hotel.
They have to focus on presenting Greek food instead of international cuisine.
Also, providing adults only options for rooms, would be nice to provide adults only facilities.
Even with my late check-in (10.30pm), the receptionist Demetriou still managed to provide me with a late meal as I missed the dinner service.
Throughout my stay, staff made sure my visit was perfect by suggesting activities to do throughout the week (Maria), as well as providing me with the perfect service over breakfast and dinner.
The views from my room were spectacular! I was privileged to have a room with a swimming pool and a sea front view. The room itself was clean and very spacious. No issues at all.
If you're looking for a chilled day, you can use the spa, gym, pool, or just relax by the blue bar, which also has a perfect view of the sea.
The beach provided is private for hotel guests.
Everything else, such as other bars and shops, is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The night life is great! Also, there is a water activity cabin on the sea front where you have the option to do many activities, such as jet ski, canoeing, para-sailing etc.
Thank you to all of the staff of the Mediterranean village hotel & Spa for making my holiday amazing!
Thank you for your hospitality.
The cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. The housekeeping service was inconsistent and basic amenities often missing.
We have met the Cleaning Service supervisor but this role is not for her at all. I suppose that the cleanliness level is so low because of her incompetence. She doesn’t speak even a word in English which is unacceptable for 5* hotel in EU and she looks and acts so mean. It seems that all the staff which is under her are afraid of her. Just let this woman go immediately, so she can do work that suits her, not what she’s doing now.
The customer service was also disappointing. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, lacking the warmth and professionalism one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Requests for assistance were met with long wait times or were simply ignored. We will say good word only for the guy from the night shift. He is perfect.
Additionally, the food quality at the hotel restaurant was below average. The buffet lacked variety, and many dishes tasted bland and uninspired. We expected a much higher standard of dining. The waiters in the main restaurant are great.
The worst part is the beach and the influx of people from outside the hotel. Many of them come and occupy the hotel’s sunbeds in areas designated exclusively for guests. There is no control whatsoever from the hotel. Others stay right next to the last row of the hotel's sunbeds, so you end up listening to large groups of Greek families all day long. Additionally, there were many cars parked on the sand next to our sunbed area, creating a total mess.
So, you end up paying 300-400 EUR per night for disgusting food, dirty rooms, and a public beach area that is used by many people from the villages around Katerini. In Facebook groups, people mention that they can use the sunbeds at Mediterranean Village for free, as there is no control.
Additionally, there were outsiders around us with dogs, bathing alongside other guests.
Overall, our stay at the Mediterranean Village Hotel and Spa was a disappointing experience. We would not recommend this hotel to others.
This hotel is extremely low in quality and service. Never again. Stay far away from it.
