Mediterranean Village Hotel & Spa

The room we were in is not very big, there is no place to distribute the luggage.The bathroom was not cleaned, there was mold all over the walls, including the bathtub. During rain there is nothing to do, the spa is very small and the water temperature in the indoor pool is too cold.

We recently stayed at the Mediterranean Village Hotel and Spa in Katerini for 8 nights, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. While the hotel’s location and exterior might initially impress, several significant issues overshadowed our stay.
The cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. The housekeeping service was inconsistent and basic amenities often missing.
We have met the Cleaning Service supervisor but this role is not for her at all. I suppose that the cleanliness level is so low because of her incompetence. She doesn’t speak even a word in English which is unacceptable for 5* hotel in EU and she looks and acts so mean. It seems that all the staff which is under her are afraid of her. Just let this woman go immediately, so she can do work that suits her, not what she’s doing now.
The customer service was also disappointing. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, lacking the warmth and professionalism one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Requests for assistance were met with long wait times or were simply ignored. We will say good word only for the guy from the night shift. He is perfect.
Additionally, the food quality at the hotel restaurant was below average. The buffet lacked variety, and many dishes tasted bland and uninspired. We expected a much higher standard of dining. The waiters in the main restaurant are great.
The worst part is the beach and the influx of people from outside the hotel. Many of them come and occupy the hotel’s sunbeds in areas designated exclusively for guests. There is no control whatsoever from the hotel. Others stay right next to the last row of the hotel's sunbeds, so you end up listening to large groups of Greek families all day long. Additionally, there were many cars parked on the sand next to our sunbed area, creating a total mess.
So, you end up paying 300-400 EUR per night for disgusting food, dirty rooms, and a public beach area that is used by many people from the villages around Katerini. In Facebook groups, people mention that they can use the sunbeds at Mediterranean Village for free, as there is no control.
Additionally, there were outsiders around us with dogs, bathing alongside other guests.
Overall, our stay at the Mediterranean Village Hotel and Spa was a disappointing experience. We would not recommend this hotel to others.
This hotel is extremely low in quality and service. Never again. Stay far away from it.

Varied breakfast and dinner. Went half board off peak season meant it was really quiet to use facilities, super cold pool though during October half term. Service could have been better. We had 20% voucher off food and drinks but had to keep telling waitress or waiter constantly and if you forgot to tell them at the start then you're not getting it. Some of them were lovely and put the 40% then next day. Got food poisoning from the beans at breakfast so food reused for the next day. The location is lovely and cheap rentals woman called Elena so love. I wouldn't come back during off peak would be nice to see improvements when they have sorted maintenance once Covid clears up. Rooms were decent though my sisters room she got locked in twice and had to call maintenance. A little pricey for off peak and service would be wayyyy better
