Rachoni Imperial Hotel

We spent our family vacation at this hotel, expecting a peaceful stay in a small, intimate setting. However, we were very disappointed to find that the hotel is located on one of the most crowded beaches, full of tourists who weren’t even hotel guests. There were not enough sunbeds for hotel guests, despite making reservations with the staff in advance. These reservations were often double-booked, and the sunbeds were taken by other people. The staff was overwhelmed by the constant crowds. The pool was also used by non-guests, even though the staff repeatedly asked them to leave. Dinners were mediocre at best, and the staff was unresponsive. Although dinner was supposed to be served until 9 PM, the food started being cleared away around 8:50 PM. When we checked in, we found several small pieces of broken glass in the shower. The staff was not friendly or helpful. I honestly have no idea where the positive reviews for this place are coming from.

The room was nice at 1st view,but I hâd an unpleasant surprize. Hundreds of ants were coming out of the sockets and switches. There was a pungent smell of poison coming out from the sockets and every now and then i would find an ant în the bed

I had a terrible experience at Thassos Imperial Resort. The rooms were full of ants and cleaning was almost non-existent. The swimming pool was dirty and poorly maintained – nothing like the pictures. The owner, a man named Margarit, acts completely unprofessionally: he takes orders without issuing any receipt, charges whatever prices he wants, and forces guests to spend a minimum of 40 euros just to use the sunbeds – with extremely overpriced products. To make matters worse, we spent an entire night without electricity and without air conditioning. Nobody even apologized, and the hotel refused to refund the nights lost. I was forced to leave early, with my vacation completely ruined. Warning: this hotel shows no respect for its guests and doesn’t even provide basic services. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone.

This could have been an excellent hotel with a fantastic view, a lovely beach, and all the necessary facilities if they had invested in the room's furniture. We stayed here for three nights with breakfast included. We chose a sea-view room, offering a beautiful view of the sea, the beach, and the pool area. However, the room could sometimes be noisy due to guests drinking near the pool area, where the beach bar and tavern are also located. The room was "almost clean" because when we arrived, we found ants all over the place. Fortunately, we had bug spray and managed to get rid of most of them. While the sheets were white and clearly washed, they were stained. The furniture was old, made of imitation leather, and was all torn apart. It was evident that there had been no investment in the furnishings for a long time, which was really disappointing. On a positive note, the bathroom was nice and clean, the towels were also nice and clean, and the room size was good. It was great to have a balcony with a sea view where you could enjoy relaxing drinks. We had some issues with the air conditioning and called the front desk, expecting a quick response. They did not come promptly, but my husband managed to fix it by resetting a fuse. When we called back, the receptionist mentioned that this was a common issue, and they would have done the same thing. The breakfast was nice but repetitive, and the coffee wasn't great, though there were fresh fruits and pastries available. The pool area was pleasant, though sometimes non-guests stayed there despite it being forbidden. The staff did their best to manage this by issuing bracelets to identify hotel guests. The pool and beach are free for hotel guests; otherwise, you need to pay between 20 to 25 euros, which you can use for orders from the beach bar. The staff can also reserve the best seats for you at the beach or pool. The pool is not very big, but it's clean. You can order good food from the beach bar or dine at their tavern near the pool. For 17 euros, you can have a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant, though I recommend the tavern over the hotel dinner. You can also get beach towels with a 30-euro deposit, refunded upon checkout. The staff is great and always friendly. This hotel has great potential due to its lovely beach, but it could be much better with some room investment.
