Hotel Alla Posta

A disappointing meal in a pretentious hotel.

We arrived for a special dinner. The menu came promptly with water and bread. We ordered our food and wine. When the wine was served, a cloud of flies swarmed over the bread and our wine glasses. I killed one fly and left it on the tablecloth, the waiter appeared not to notice.

First course was served on cold plates. Bigoli all'anera was edible but the sauce had too much liquid. The cheese in the raviolo started to set soon after it was served.

We needed to request a knife to eat the second course. The plates were cold. We requested a second glass of wine which did not arrive. The medaglione di manzo was good but the butter started to congeal in the spinach, making it inedible. The cervo was good. The grilled vegetables were half cooked and cold.

We complained to the manager who seemed to suggest it was my fault for not telling her sooner. That was not possible because the waiter didn't return.

We were escorted to the reception to pay. After several minutes waiting, we were presented with someone else's bill.

Altogether, it was an average meal in a very noisy and uncomfortable room. The service was very poor.
Nel compleso, è stato un pasto nella media in un stanza rumoroso e scomoda. Il servizio è stato scadente.

The problem described below by the lady is real. I was a wittness at a similar situation in the hotel.The employees of the hotel have discriminative attitude toward elder or disabled people and the answer the hotel gives to that lady, shows that it has been no improvement. For instance the cleaning lady ordered 2 old ladies not to use the elevator for just one floor! The hotel is stuffed with heads of dead animals. It is scarry! It seems they do not live in the Europe of the 21th century. I noticed also there were flies in the hotel and especially in the restaurant/the breakfast room. Prices of the hotel are in general overrated but there are many accomodations opportunity in the area that are more civilised and respectful toward the client. In conclusion, untill they change the attitude and perhaps the personnel, it is a place to avoid.
