The hotel will send you a message telling you to call when you get to the area and they will guide you in a GPS will not navigate inside the city. Fantastic facilities. Went for an Apulian wedding and the scenery is unforgettable. The various halls for the aperitif are great, a beautiful outside terrace that we barely visited thanks to a heavy rain, great dinner hall. Overall it was a fantastic place!

As for the structure, as we have been told, it will be fixed for 2021, some renovation work will certainly give it an even more pleasant appearance. I was on a bike trip through South Italy. Stayed in this hotel for a day, fixed my bike thanks to the owner's son, had a good time in the town. Nice small hotel, comfy beds and good chilled atmosphere. They treated me with a shot of 'Padre Peppe' before my departure. That was a blast! :-)

The rooms are set up like a motel, spacous, clean, moden, with 2 A/C, fridge and seating area. Facilities were great, but a bit of a palaver to access the garden. Once there, fabulous. Swimming you have to pay towels and a swimming cap! Beautiful tranquil, clean and tastefully decorated hotel set in the middle of the countryside yet close to the amazing town of Matera. We had a delicious dinner and made much use of the delightful pool and the lovely walks through the fields gave the dog plenty of exercise.

Clean, new, convenient and super nice staff

It was exceptionally clean and well presented. The hospitality and service was top class. Lovely breakfast, comfy beds and quality air-con made for a good nights rest. A bit out of town, however only a 10min walk or 2min drive from the bus stop & or train station. Also only about €10 cab ride to the city if that's more convenient. Would highly recommend.

It is a cave hotel and if you have a car, it is the best for Matera sightseeing. The facilities are the best for the price compared to the area around Matera. However, there is nothing to do around the hotel.

We had an enjoyable stay here for our visit to Matera. The breakfast is abundant and delicious. Now for the downside of our stay. Our shower head was damaged, and we had water all over our bathroom floor. We visited in early May, and it was hot during this time. They told us air conditioning is not turned on until the end of May, but it clearly states in the description that the rooms are air conditioned...

One of the most interesting hotels I've ever seen. We spend the night in a room made up of 2 levels. Built in a cave. The breakfast was the best we've had in our 9 day trip to Italy. The view was great. We slept well. Stunning hotel! We'll be definitely back one day!

Stayed in this fascinating hotel in Matera for 3 nights. Our room was in one of the old cisterns carved out of the limestone. While not luxurious, the unique aspect of being in a cave more than made up for any lack of facilities. Matera itself was astonishing - truly exceptional place to visit. Great local restaurants, too, all full of character.

It was quite an experience staying in a cave hotel! It's not easy to retrofit facilities in a cave so don't expect luxurious bathrooms or decor. Seems like a relatively new hotel in Matera and was well situated and clean. Big room and modern facilities. Breakfast was included and was ok. The only drawback was the smell of sulphur from the bathroom after showering.

Very good, convenient transportation, large room and good facilities

The place was perfect: central, close to nice restaurants and bars, well decorated, nice staff, great SPA (worth the 25 EUR fee to access it!) and what a great breakfast buffet! Do choose the suites, they really are worth the extra price. They were all booked for our second night and so we had to move to a standard room and it wasn’t as great.

A beautiful hotel just behind the dom of the city. It was a convent of nuns, years ago: on coming here you have to bear it in mind, because you will find no 5star-hotel comfort. If you are ok with that, you will have a really awesome experience here!

Modern hotel in an historical city, placed a few steps from the main square and very close to Sassi.

Located in the heart of Matera, which means you can’t get there by car, but the views and the room made up for the challenge of getting to it. Everyone was very professional. The room was large, clean and suited our needs. It felt like we were staying in someone’s mansion.

The building and the location are stunning, so as the rooms some of which have a panoramic view over the Sassi. Very nice and friendly staff and a very good level of service overall. The hotel has its own parking which is a huge plus as you can forget your car for the duration of your stay here.
