Hotel Arbatasar

Worst experience ever. Only one outlet is available to use and it's not even next to the bed!!! Also some bugs are found. I don't understand how a hotel can have a bed with no outlets by the bedside. If you book, bring your own energy generator or a big power bank to charge your devices. One outlet for the entire room is horrible and that alone deserves a one star - not to mention some bugs.

For anyone else reading this review, as you can see, the owner did not hesitate to jump to making rude comments. The best thing for the owner to do is to take a picture and upload it. But he won't do it because they know they are wrong. Either way, why would there be one European socket and one German socket? Why do I need to buy an adapter?
I left the review before checking out so if the owner wanted to see me in person and talk to me, then he could've done so. But he was probably hiding because he only has a big mouth over the internet. I would not have a problem removing the review if i was proven wrong.
Also, they refused to allow me to pay city tax with my credit card - they take only cash. I'm not sure why the owner decided to do that. Any other place was more than happy to charge my credit card. I'm not so sure if this is a tourist friendly hotel anymore.

The hotel has an interesting architecture and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast is ok but not fantastic. Regarding the parking, if you park the car inside the hotel, the keys must be handed over in the reception.
Having said that, I must refer that I was shocked by the lack of politeness and rudeness of the hotel/restaurant manager. Atrocious bad manners.
We checked in at around 5pm, without being given any information about using the pool. At 7:20 pm, when we returned from the beach, I went up to my room while my sons (16 and 14) went to the pool without knowing that it closed at 7:30 pm. While they were in the shower to clean off the salt and sand, they were approached aggressively and rudely by a man speaking Italian, a language that my children don't speak. Given my children's complaints, I asked reception about the rules of the pool, and was told that it opened at 9:00 am and closed at 7:30 pm. Nothing more. I passed that information to my sons and forgot about it.
The next day, we arrived at 6:15pm and my sons used the pool, while I went to the nearby supermarket for around 20 minutes. When I returned, the rooms' key cards were blocked because "we didn't respect the rules of the pool". My wife asked what rules were that and they said that "children must be accompanied by their parents and no diving was allowed". I went to the pool to inform my sons about it. I talked to the employee of the pool who told me that they have dived 3 times and that they were not accompanied by me. I read the rules and it didn't refer the ages of the children so it seemed that youngsters under 18 are considered children. I sat in the pool chairs and waited till the 7:29pm and to assure that the rules were followed by my sons. As I was there, 2 others boys dived into the pool, the employee saw it but didn't care on a clear double standards attitude. At 7:30pm, we left the pool and the manager was appologizing to some customers, saying that the reprimands were not for them, but for "others". I speak Italian so I understood it clearly. The "others" was me and my family, but he didn't have the righteousness of talking to me personally during the 2 days that we spent there. This situation could be avoided easily if he did it and if he could show some politeness. But no, just bad manners and total unability to deal with simple, easy to solve situations. I intended to have dinner at the restaurant but changed my mind because of that.
When I made the check-out, I complained about it but the reception employees gave me ridiculous excuses about the behaviour of the manager.

Updated: The hotel is rude enough to give us such answer - I am uploading the email from them regarding their website being hacked. 😜

Overall: Don’t repeat our mistake! Find yourself a nice hotel!

At the time I am writing this, I am still in this hotel for another night, UNFORTUNATELY!

1. It all started with their website being hacked while we were still home, so we had to deactivate our credit card and request a new one from our bank and go through all the trouble already pre-vacation, they were aware of the hack already as we contacted them.

2. End of September, we arrive at 13:00, the hotel is very empty, we say: “we would like to checkin, is it possible?”, Reception responds with no friendliness:”Checkin is at 15:00 madam”, being a bit surprised by the attitude she gave us in a 4 star hotel, we asked can we check in now?
And she, with no desire to answer, hands us our room card.
(So the room was available and we got in, but was confused what was the attitude for???!)

3. At the reception they gave us pool towels and made us sign a deposit of 50€ for that! Not even in my young days in cheapest hotels has this ever happened!

4. Hotel being empty, we get one of their worst rooms I assume! (Hope not all rooms have the same quality!) We enter, the room smells musty, as if the windows were never opened and, of course -> there is not even one ray of sun in this room the whole day (we paid 575€ for this room by the way)

- There are ventilation/window from their laundry room directly under our room, so it’s SUPER LOUD and SMELLS LIKE CHEMICALS!!! AWEFUL!

5. Cleaning service: on the first day we put the sign of do not disturb: came back from breakfast, they have been in the room, and moved everything, cleaned the floor with a liquid that contains chlorine, we couldn’t breath..

6. Breakfast: smallest buffet I have ever been to. All the fantastic local product in Sardinia, they still offer plastic packed president butter and cheese, cheap tea bags and mediocre coffee!

7. For going to the beach I bought bottled beer, on my way upstairs to the hotel room, the receptionist runs after me saying I can’t take my beer to my room! It’s against their rules! -Why? Is it a monastery?-

IMPORTANT to mention: all the feedback was already given to the receptionist, that we are unhappy for all these points and feel very unwelcome! She only said nothing she can do.. when we said: at least an apology for the card situation, she said “it was not our fault but sorry”. (Just for the context, I assume it was within their responsibility as they sent an email admitting their website was hacked and receivers should ignore the message received from the hotel for double payment)

Expected much more from Sardinia!
