Hotels in Carpignano Salentino

This is a fabulous hotel in a beautiful peaceful location although not far from major towns such as Otranto and Lecce. Our room was very clean and comfortable with all facilities. Staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful and all spoke perfect English. Highly recommended for anyone travelling to this area of Southern Italy.

Planning on spending 8 days in Puglia we decided to split our time with 5 days in the southern portion and 3 in the northern portion. We studied many hotels and airbnb locations and were super lucky to have selected Furnirussi Tenuta, close to Otranto. This is simply a magical place. It is surrounded by 4,500 fig trees (largest fig plantation in Europe ... please ask for some figs during breakfast...

This resort is off the beaten path you will appreciate the quietness! From the front desk staff to the restaurant wait staff, especially Mauricio, you will experience an authentic Italian hospitality in its purest form. Secluded with one the best swimming pools I have ever experienced. The water was a perfect temperature and the lounge chairs were situated perfectly for sun and shade. All staff were welcoming and especially the wait staff in the restaurant. Mauricio was our favorite!!

We just left with warm memories having spent time in this little sojourn far from the throngs hitting Puglia all of a sudden. Lovely charming and hospitable staff welcomed us. We had a lovely 3 night stay at this Masseria which is small but charming. Our room was very clean and although small, we spent a lot of time exploring the area or relaxing next to the pool. Fantastic staff, good service, excellent location 10 minutes from the most beautiful places (Torre dell'Orso, Caribbean of Salento, Otranto, etc.). We booked a quad. We weren't expecting such a nice mini apartment! A small entrance area, with the wardrobe, which leads to a large room, with a cross vault, where there is a double bed, a table with chairs and various pieces of furniture, all brand new, for storing clothes. This is the best restaurant. They have best pizzas in whole world. The staff are so nice and kind! It is also very cheap! Only 26€ for 2 pizzas and 2 drinks. I wish i could stay on vacation longer and keep eating here every day.

In the midst of COvid it proved difficult to find open eating establishments around Borgagne, so we decided To try Big Mama’s. For a start we were met with a temperature gun and a man who spoke no English at all. This had no impact on us and we chose the best table outside as there was no one else At the restaurant. Masseria Scorpiti is an incredible location and I cannot recommend it more highly. Check-in and out were easy, and Alessandro and his housekeeper Lauri are very easy to communicate with. The location is perfect; nestled in olive groves, walking distance to bars and restaurants, and a 15 min drive to the beach. Eleonora and her family were fantastic and welcoming hosts. They went above and beyond to look after us and arranged a cooking class, a tour of their vineyards and a number of transfers. I've stayed recently at Masseria Bosco di Makyva. I usually don't write reviews; however, after my stay I felt that this business really deserves a good review. Really nice place where we spend our last weekend. Room is cosy and clean with descent size. We got the best room in my opinion, no. 22 witch has the pool in front.
