Hotel Villa Il Patriarca

We booked the superior/deluxe room by groupon because it was an offer with a dinner in their restaurant. The hotel on booking and all websites is supposed to be „ANIMAL FRIENDLY”, and there was NO INFORMATION that we need to contact before arriving with a dog. When we came to Tuscany to the hotel they told us that we cannot stay with a dog in the room that we paid for (!!!) because there is wód on the floor and the dog can scratch it. Because of that they moved us to a DIFFERENT PART of the building to the cheapest CLASSIC room (!!!) even though we paid for superior/deluxe.
I checked their website, checked groupon, booking and there is NO INFORMATION that the dogs cannot stay in other room than Classic. So they expect you to pay full price for better room, and after you arrive they put you to the cheapest Classic without anything as „sorry”. Really, in such a situation a bottle of wine or anything could solve it, but they just didnt gave a damn. That was the worst customer service experience for me.
The lady at the front desk was like „sorry this are our rules” and even when I was saying „but it is not written anywhere! How are we supposed to know?!” She replied with „you should have called us to ask if the dog can stay in superior/deluxe room so we would have told you that it cannot”. You claim you are ANIMALS FRIENDLY and there are no info about any exceptions so how are we supposed to know? It should be written!
Terrible, just terrible. Dont recommend anyone.
