The short version: The atmosphere, the food, the drink, and the staff at Mama Ciccio's are all amazing 5/5 undoubtedly. BUT, the beds are real cheap. The mattresses are thin and quite firm, and some of the frames lack support and dip in the center. Incredible food, best I've had in Italy thus far & I'm at the END of my trip! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's not on the water, but I would say a better experience by far. Wonderful, quaint, warm and very friendly staff make this hotel a must-stay. Nestled in the woods above a river, it is a peaceful and beautiful spot just a couple miles above the shore of Lake Como. Restaurant is excellent and lots of parking. Be prepared for a tricky turn down into the hotel parking lot, but once you do it, it's totally easy.Highly recommend it!!!

Very friendly service. Reception with drink and appetizer. There was no oil or spices in the apartment which one would expect as standard. There was no air conditioning but a standing fan. Center is 25 min. walk away. Unfortunately, the path is almost continuously directly on the winding, confusing main road without a pedestrian path.

A beautiful and peaceful domain with friendly and helpful staff. We were helped multiple times by Giovanna and Stefano from the reception desk who were very kind. Varenna is a 16 minutes walk from the Agriturismo but the walk from Varenna is quite steep (goes up 120 meters,). Our stay at Filario Hotel was amazing! We stayed in a villa with our two small children, and everything was perfect. We had requested a crib, and it was there waiting for us, even with a little pillow in it. The best part of our stay was being in Varenna where it was beautiful, and we were easily able to take the ferry to other places on the lake which were also incredibly beautiful. We had a really nice stay here. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and allowed us to drop off our luggage early. I can’t imagine a better stay and in the best village on Lake Como. We stayed in the third floor of Casa Rossa. The online pictures don’t due justice how close you are to the water. The bed was not as soft as hotels in the States, but it didn’t affect our sleep — since we were tired from walking. We ate their restaurant, La Vista, and had a great meal (4 out of 5 stars) with one of the best views...

The check-in time was up to 8pm but we would get there later. The staff was kind to leave instructions and even printed out a sheet of paper with notes in our room. That was very kind and helpful. The rooms have a small kitchen with silverware and some dishes and the view is really nice.

Nice stay at this small hotel on the shores of Lake Como. Good value for the price, unobstructed views of the lake, clean, and great service. The additional fee for breakfast is almost a must, as there is not much else around. This is the perfect place to come relax on the lake for a few days. Ristorante Vapore was also very good!

Amazing hospitality, the owner offered us a ride up to Molina after she helpes us with a reservation at Il Tipi Tipici! Greats views, Good food and very close to public beach. And just 100m from the hotel you can rent Vespas or Jetskis and Kayaks.

This hotel would have for sure gotten 5 stars had i not got food poisoning from one of the on-site restaurants. The service is great, everyone is friendly, the building and property are beautiful, and the food is good, although a bit overpriced. I was only here for 3 nights so losing a day and a half due to food poisoning but a bit of a damper on the mood.
