Hotel Miami

This is going to be quite a long review as we relied on reviews to decide where we were going to stay and non of them seemed detailed enough and our stay was just OK not the best experience, so I hope this helps. It all depends what you want your stay here to be, if you're planning on going out all day and only using it to rest your head then this hotel is perfect for you but if you want all your meals here and lounge around the pool I'd probably think again. The food was awful. The breakfast was fine, although it was the same every day and it was mainly sweet stuff with very little savoury. We didn't have lunch so I cant comment of that. The main meals were horrendous and absolutely tiny portions. We went half board and ate there the first night and went out for food every night after that because it was so bad. I'd only get bed and breakfast. The pool was lovely, very clean and not too crowded (but that may be the time of year we went). If you want entertainment or something for the kids there is absolutely nothing there and not much in the area in terms of entertainment, it was just hotels, shops and restaurants with a few arcades. The staff were not great, terrible customer service. We ordered drinks from the bar when having chilled out pool days and although there was barely anyone there it always seemed like an inconvenience when you asked for a drink, we also ordered some food as it was the only place open from 2pm to 5/6pm as Italy have a siesta type break in the middle of the day, when we ordered the food it was like they were annoyed and then made us such a bog standard sandwich which wasn't the best. The rooms were very clean so i cant fault that but very basic, our air con didn't work, our balcony door didn't lock and the extractor fan in the bathroom was crazy loud but whether that was just our room, im not sure. The bathrooms are again very clean but the showers are stupidly small, i couldn't really bend down to shave my legs it was that small or get out of the line of water to properly wash my hair, ours also leaked a lot so we had to put a towel outside it and it was soaked through after a 10 minute shower. if you're pregnant or a curvier person I can imagine it's even worse.

Getting to Venice from this hotel can be confusing, you cant buy bus tickets at the bus, you have to buy them at the tobacco shop and I'd recommend buying the day pass ticket for €25 as this will include boat transport to Venice. (Bus 5 to Punta Sabbioni, then the public transport boat to San Marco which is Venice).
